I did that about a year ago. The hotel simply rebooked me for the right date. I suppose it depends upon the specific hotel, but wouldn't hurt to ask.
Romelle
Romelle, thank you.
We asked the hotel but Club Quarters wanted 180$ before task. We answered kindly "no thank you"
Price was even higher than on venere.com.
Hi Thereuare.
Yes, I am referring to cross things out. Technically you could quote me and add your statement.
Regarding the 3rd request: It took so long because
a) I was in NYC sightseeing.
b) I was traveling back to Europe and had a 20h trip just after my NYC stay in front of me or behind me. Again, no internet access and busy with traveling.
c) When I arrived I had to take care of my flat, mail, etc.
Never mind, here is what you asked for.
Club Quarters, World Trade Center
16.1.2016-17.1.2017
79$ before tax ($105.19 after tax), no resort fees
Amenites
Free Internet
Smoke-free rooms
Fitness center
Restaurant(s)
Business center
Self-service laundry
Internet access
Thank you.
Best regards
BB
I am disappointed that you modified my statement.
I would like to clarify that HOTWIRE does not sell hotels for the same day. We booked too fast and have now a hotel for tomorrow instead of today. Wasted a lot of money.
We decided to go for the Club Quarters, I will share the win later. If you could advise us of any nice breaky options thank you, much appreciated.
Hi Thereuare, do you have also a recommendation for the Financial District? We want to be in the early morning hours on the Brooklyn Bridge. (6am).
Hi Thereuare,
Thank you for your qick reply.
Our needs would be free wifi and a clean bed :) But minimum 3-3.5*
$76 would be fine, are the reviews okay?
I assume Grand Hyatt TS is not available by any chance for such a cheap price?
But if you think the Sheraton New York is okay, let's go for it.
I see a
4* Grand Central all suites hotel
106$
Free breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry
90% recommendation
102$ in the better bidding helper
FULL AMENITIES: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access
Could this be the Residence Inn New York Manhattan/Midtown East
Thank you.
Dear all,
As I mentioned before we did not book a hotel, we chose to rent an apartment.
I apologise, I thought that was clear. The thread can be closed. Sorry.
Dear Thereuare,
Ok, I thought that was clear? I did not book anything. Sorry for that.
Dear all,
we are looking for a hotel room, at the moment for one night 01/15-16/01 for 2 adults in the city.
I would prefer Hotwire and I am searching for a good deal, however I am not keen on Resort Fees. I heard the other day that one hotels charges 55$/night/person on resort fees (Quin hotel). I would like to avoid such a case when booking via hotwire.
I have currently not a real preference (Internet should be free, no resort fees, clean, minimum 3-3.5*). I would say my limit is around 100$ before tax.
I see currently:
3.5* ESB 96$
FULL AMENITIES: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access
3.5* Convention Center - Hell's Kitchen -87$
FULL AMENITIES: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
4* Grand Central 103$
FULL AMENITIES: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access
Just to name a few examples. Breakfast does not need to be included.
Maybe you see better deals? Once you saw the Hyatt Times Square for a good deal.
Just got as well a 7% off reduction for priceline if it helps. Edit: Only valid for NYOP. Not applicable.
For example, as a priceline express deal I found
MSG-Convention Area, 8/10
Pets, Business, Free Internet, Breakfast, Fitness Center
for 84$
What could this be, please?
Thank you.
Sorry, the price was 89$ before tax. I had a typo.
Yes, it was nice for one night. Rooms were a little bit on the smaller sight, but we travelled light. No problem. Room was clean and quiet.
I would like to report a win in the past.
Hotel was the Holiday Inn Express New York - Manhattan West Side, 3*.
Amenities:
Free breakfast
Fitness center
Internet access
Free Internet
Business center
Currently I am only able to post this information as I have no access to the account we bought it through. Sorry.
Dear all,
Thank you for your invaluable advise. Do you mind if I ask you for personal restaurant recommendations in Philly?
We arrived late yesterday, saw the fireworks, but did not find food after it.
I heard about a Pretzel wholesaler. Was ist City Center Pretzel? I read about it here in the forum.
I would like to try a Cheesecake and and a Cheesesteak.
Thank you.
Dear Thereuare.
I would like to follow up. We have cut short our trip and decided to stay for a night in an apartment accommodation.
Do you mind to leave this open? I appreciate your answer about Philadelphia. Last time for NYC you gave us really nice suggestions. In near time, if you don't mind, I would like to ask you for further advise on Philadelphia. Thank you.
Hi,
I am looking for hotel options in Philadelphia 31.12.15-3.1.2016 for two.
I found
Center City East - Convention Center Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher), 4*
Business Center
Restaurant
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Fitness Center
For 106$/night. How likely it is that this one will be cheaper with name your own price, please?
Could this be the Loewe?
I am not yet sure if I would go the hotwire or priceline route.
Another problem: We have a care. I don't want to pay 50$/day for parking in the hotel. Does somebody here know Philadelphia a bit better?
I know there are free parking spots on the PPA website. How about driving there, finding a spot, and leaving the car for 3 days and nights there?
Thank you.
PS: Sorry, mixed up the years.
PS2: I should maybe add, that the hotel could be also outside or in the suburbs as long as public transportation connection is good into downtown Philadelphia.
I would like to say thank you very much for your help. The hotel was top. We got rooms on 52 and 30 level.
The "seniors" enjoyed very much their breakfast on TS, the bagels were delicious. Saturday morning around 9-10.30 it was even a bit quite on TS.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Thereuare,
thank you. You were absolutely right. We "won" the Hyatt Times Square with Free Internet, Internet access for 124$ per night, HOTWIRE link of yours was used.
I hope it is a nice one. Do you know how I could ask for a room higher up, please?
Could you give insights for breakfast (bagel etc?) around the hotel, please?
I do appreciate your help.
The Hyatt is newer than the Sheraton so we thought to give it a try.
Dear Thereuare,
thank you for the quick reply.
You were right with points.
I think I would be interested in the 98$ night in the Sheraton or would give it a go for the Hyatt Times Square. Could you help me to find this one.
I see with your BiddingHelper.com currently
Times Square - Theater District
4.5*
124$
FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Internet access
Is this the Hyatt?
Thank you.
Dear Thereuare,
my deadline for booking should be finished by tomorrow around noon.
I think both hotels would be an option, but there is no need to be too close to Times Square in case this is why you suggested those hotels. Would you mind if we could check out some other offers, please?
Why is the Sheraton not your favorite?
After all, it would be just for one night to sleep. So it should be cleand and with own bathroom.
Edit: Just checked the webpage of Mela for the date, no room available offcially. Coudl it be the mela?
I just found the Holiday Inn MSG for 139$ via the hotel webpage and the Distrikt for 143$. Bad deals?
Dear thereuare,
Thank you for your reply and your feedback.
No, we don't rely that much on internet in this night. Regarding the bagel, did you not recommend here eat a bagel or a restaurant with this name? I would be interested in a good bagel.
I spoke with the other party members and they agreed to go out for breakfast, I have two seniors with me. If you have good recommendations for breakfast around the final hotel win, I am happy to listen to you.
Regarding the hotel, we are looking for a 3* minimum, I would say. It should be clean and no bed bugs :)
Regarding our budget before tax etc, we aim for 130-140 $, if cheaper at the same star rate, even better.
Regarding the location, we stayed twice in Hell's kitchen and we liked it. Something around there would be nice but it is not a must.
Thank you.
I am searching for 2 rooms, each occupied with 2 people, in total 4 people.
Dear BetterBidding,
I am looking for two rooms from 29.5/30.5 in NYC, LIC, Brooklyn. We are four person and we could all sleep in double beds.
For the moment I searched only in Manhattan via Hotwire.
Free internet is a must, free breakfast would be super because we are traveling with two seniors. But if this prevents a good deal we would find another source for breakfast.
I found via your tool Hotwire Easy View:

Do you think it would be better to wait for a better deal?
PS: Does the TA rating still exists on HW? Have not seen it for a while.
