  1. Purchase date: Jan 25, 2020 Room price: $51.00 avg./night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights:14 nights Room subtotal: $714.00 Taxes & fees:$138.04 Coupon:- $85.68 Total charged today: $766.36 Total charged:$766.36 Savings:You saved 45%* Check-in: Sun Feb 16, 2020 - After 03:00 PM Check-out: Sun Mar 1, 2020 - 12:00 PM Overview This hotel is the best in the Germantown area. Great staff. Excellent gym. Free breakfast. Shuttle is okay. Shuttle used to go to Shady Grove Metro, but doesn't any more. Have them drop you off at the Germantown Transit Center just down the road and take the 100 express bus to the metro. Public transportation right in front of hotel takes you to main shopping area not far from the hotel. They keep the place in very good shape. The rate listed above is only $2.00 above the employee rate before taxes. This is a very good deal. Be sure to give them your IHG Membership because you can points if you forgo housekeeping. Bidding Tips You can't bid on this hotel because you will get stuck with the Extended Stay dumps in the area. They have the same star rating as this hotel. In the winter, the rate listed above is the rate I got for three months! No one comes out this far in winter. Ever. Been staying here when I travel back to the area in the winter for years and I always get a great rate. SAFE TRAVELS and CHEERS!
  2. As of last week, April 5, 2019, I have had a very hard time bidding on Priceline. Whenever I try to sign into to bid, I get an error page. I have tried logging on to multiple platforms, Windows, Apple, etc and every browser imaginable - Firefox, IE, Safari, Chrome, you name it, and NOTHING works. I have tweeted Priceline, tried calling them and they keep saying there is no problem. I then went on Twitter and asked followers to try to bid and they have the EXACT SAME ERROR dialogue box. I need to use the site on my desktop. As of right now, you have to fill out the information, in full, for every bid and you have to wait because it won't tell you if you got the bid or not on the screen. You have to wait to see if you got it through email. This is a major hassle and inconvenience. Has anyone else had an issue with bidding and signing into to bid while using the desktop site? Please let me know. Thanks
  3. Purchase date: Jan 18, 2019 Room price: $52.00 avg./night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 1 night Room subtotal: $52.00 Express Deal Amenities Free Breakfast Free Internet (in Public Area) Free Parking Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant (It doesn't have one though) Handicap Accessible Business Center Overview This hotel used to be a Hampton Inn (The new Hampton Inn not far from here is AWESOME btw, but you'll never get it bidding or through a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal on Priceline) and has not been renovated. Some of the rooms are TINY. I'm talking claustrophobic. But it was clean and the staff was excellent. Free breakfast. Underground parking is nice to have during in climate weather. Most rooms have fridge and microwave. The bathroom is also tiny. It's like staying at a doll house in The Twilight Zone. Laundry on first floor.
  4. Purchase date:Jan 25, 2019 Offer price: $45.00/night Number of rooms:1 room Number of nights: 5 nights Room subtotal: $225.00 Taxes & fees: $50.25 Total charged today: $275.25 Total charged: $275.25 Overview This hotel is being renovated, but once it is done, it's a hidden gem in the area. You can ask for a renovated room at check-in. Only one elevator available until probably Spring 2019. Rooms don't have carpet which is great if you have pets. Breakfast is $5/day as of 1/1/2019. Chili's is connected to the hotel. Small gym and outdoor pool. Ample parking even for RVs and other large vehicles. The hotel has a limited shuttle, but don't depend on it to get local places. Hotel is within walking distance of the Light Rail and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. It is also very close to the Timonium Fairgrounds if you need to attend events there. Staff is super professional and helpful. Bidding Tips As of 2/1/2019, bidding on this hotel is competing with the Red Lion which is an absolutely awful hotel. If you aren't sure about bidding, make sure you identify it and select it from the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals. The other Express Deal hotel is usually the Red Lion. It has twice as many reviews. The Express Deal fees are usually six or more dollars/night higher. There aren't many other 3 star hotels in the area. As of 2/1/2019, there is no throw away bidding at the 2.5 star level because the Red Roof Inn and two other really bad hotels are in that bidding category. During the winter, this hotel is cheap from Sunday through Friday. For some reason the rate doubles on the weekend, but is never sold out??? And it's hard to bid on this hotel for more than a week at a time? I have no idea why there are these oddities.
  5. Just a heads up. It's Spring training for baseball in all of AZ right now which means hotels are pretty much booked solid through the first week of April. I get the Marriott employee rate and that's not even available for most of AZ during the winter. Your best bet is an apartment rental right now. Safe travels.
  6. Purchase date: Oct 19, 2018 Room price: $44.00 avg./night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 6 nights Room subtotal: $264.00 Taxes & fees: $59.04 Priceline Coupon:- $26.40 Total charged today: $296.64 Total charged: $296.64 Savings: You saved 55%* Amenities Free Breakfast Free Internet (in Room) Free Parking Pet Friendly Outdoor Pool Non-Smoking Gym Handicap Accessible Business Center OVERVIEW This hotel will be under going a major renovation until next year, 2019. No gym. No breakfast area. No barbecue. No pool. You can use the facilities at Hampton Inn right next door in the meantime. Mattress was good. So was water pressure. This Towneplace has ovens and microwaves! Close to public transportation, but I suggest a car for this location. BIDDING TIPS Okay, so I took the Express Deal because, for some reason, the taxes and fees were similar when bidding which is rare. It's hard to bid for this hotel because you might The Comfort Suites just south of this location. I prefer this hotel and can recognize it from the rating of 8 and over 100 reviews - for the time being. I used to stay here under the employee rate of $35/night for ages, but it's gone up to $39/night and I no longer have my hookup.
  7. Purchase date: Oct 26, 2018 Offer price: $40.00/night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 2 nights Room subtotal: $80.00 Taxes & fees: $17.44 Total charged today: $97.44 Total charged: $97.44 Savings:You saved 59%* They had a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for this hotel, but the taxes and fees were $10.00 more. I would be very hesitant about bidding in this area because there are really bad hotels in the 3 and 2.5 star category. For some reason, those hotels were not available as Express Deals, so I got lucky when bidding. This hotel is easy to spot because it is the only 2.5 star hotel in the bidding area with an airport shuttle.
  8. Purchase date: Jun 28, 2018 Offer price: $37.00/night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 14 nights Room subtotal: $518.00 Taxes & fees: $117.74 Total charged today: $635.74 Total charged: $635.74 Savings:You saved 44%* Amenities Free Breakfast Free Internet (in Room) Free Parking Pet Friendly Outdoor Pool Shuttle Non-Smoking Gym Handicap Accessible Business Center OVERVIEW This hotel is a great deal if you don't mind a hotel that is sort of run down and dated, but with a great staff. The rates during the summer for the past three years have been excellent - usually below $40/night. Once they renovate (LOL!) the rates will increase permanently. No local shuttle, but they do have an airport shuttle on demand 24/7. BIDDING TIPS This hotel blocks all the bidding for almost every hotel in the area during the summer months and in general for the area. You can't bid on The Hampton Inn (2.5 stars), which is a much better hotel btw, because PRICELINE will not upgrade it's rating to 3 stars even though it has all the same amenities as this hotel. You can no longer bid on 2.5 star hotels because you'll get The Quality Inn which is a REALLY bad hotel. You also cannot use this area as a throw away bid during summer months because the rate at this hotel is so low. Tucson West is currently the best throw away bid. They only have casinos down there and you NEVER get them when bidding cheap. The PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal taxes and fees can be up to twice what you'd pay when bidding on the same hotel. Avoid Express Deals for the airport unless you need a highly rated 2.5 star hotel or want a specific 3 star hotel.
  9. Purchase Date: October 4, 2018 Offer price: $45.00/night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 1 night Room subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & fees: $11.27 Total charged today: $56.27 Total charged: $56.27 Savings:You saved 55%* Amenities*: Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities Non Smoking *(You won't see the free breakfast listed as an amenity for this hotel on the Express Deal or on the regular listing. They also have a free airport shuttle and local shuttle within 3 miles of the hotel. This is also not listed in either the Express Deal or on the regular listing) OVERVIEW Not my first choice for 2.5 stars in this area. Free airport shuttle and area shuttle. Free breakfast. Close to highway. I prefer the Baymont, but in a pinch, I'd stay here again. Low walk score for this hotel. BIDDING This hotel competes with Red Lion and Baymont Inn in this area. The amenities list will be the shortest for the Express Deal in this area so it makes it easy to spot. Bidding 5% below the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal usually works for this area. (You won't see the free breakfast listed as an amenity for this hotel on the Express Deal or on the regular listing. They also have a free airport shuttle and local shuttle within 3 miles of the hotel. This is also not listed in either the Express Deal or on the regular listing)
  10. Room price: $45.00 avg./night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 3 nights Room subtotal: $135.00 Taxes & fees: $34.26 Coupon:- $13.50 Total charged today: $155.76 Total charged: $155.76 Savings:You saved 57%* Amenities Free Internet Free Parking Free Breakfast Airport Shuttle Business Center Fitness Center Non Smoking Pets Allowed Swimming Pool OVERVIEW This hotel is in the process of being renovated as of October 2018. Should be complete by end of 2018. Staff is excellent. Close to large Mall. Free airport shuttle 24/7 on demand and if they don't have a driver, they'll call you an Uber. BIDDING TIPS This PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal will standout from the rest because it's the only 2.5 star in the bidding area with an airport shuttle as of October 2018. You always have to take the Express Deal or you will get a terrible 3 star hotel - think Hawthorn Suites. Many of the 3 star hotels in this area block the bidding for almost all of the 2.5 star hotels in the area. I always make sure I have a Priceline Coupon for this deal. This hotel is basically unavailable once Spring Training starts. Great weekend rates all summer long.
  11. Offer price: $38.00/night Adjusted room price (bid) with Hotel Fee Credit:$38.00/night Hotel fee: $30.00 Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 3 nights Room subtotal: $144.00 Taxes & fees: $28.32 Hotel fee credit:- $30.00 Total charged today: $142.32 Total cost: $172.32 Savings:You saved 25%* Amenities Free Internet Free Parking Outdoor Pool Non-Smoking Gym Handicap Accessible OVERVIEW Don't be fooled by the photos posted on PRICELINE. This place has been renovated from top to bottom. They are timeshare condos, so you have a full kitchen, separate bedroom, etc. You get either a one or two bedroom suite. I stay here often. I only bid when I don't stay more than a month. I go through a broker for stays over 30 days because the resort fee and all other fees get waived when you stay more than 30 days. Rates are cheapest during the summer. Resort fee is $10.00+ tax per night as of October 2018. BIDDING TIPS Bidding nets a better rate because the taxes/fees are cheaper than the Express Deal. You won't save big on this place because it's already discounted. Don't forget to factor in $10.00+ tax fee per night to see if you are getting a good deal. You will notice that it is the only 3 star/9 rated condo in the area as of October 2018. When bidding you'll only get 5% off the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal rate.
  12. Offer price: $48.00/night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 1 night Room subtotal: $48.00 Taxes & fees: $11.80 Total charged today: $59.80 Total charged: $59.80 Savings:You saved 77%* Amenities: Free Internet (in Room) Free Parking Outdoor Pool Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center OVERVIEW This hotel has recently been renovated. No microwave in room. None of the rooms have a great view. BIDDING TIPS This rate was BELOW the Marriott employee rate of $49.00. It took three bids starting at $45.00. It is basically the only biddable 3 star hotel in the area. You will rarely get The Hampton Inn or Homewood Suites. You can't bid on 2.5 stars in this area because the Extended Stay America is rated 2.5 stars here. Most of the hotels in this area are rated 4 or more stars. Start with bids 10% below the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal rate.
  13. Offer price: $42.00/night Number of rooms: 1 room Number of nights: 1 night Room subtotal: $42.00 Taxes & fees: $12.32 Total charged today: $54.32 Total charged: $54.32 Savings: You saved 61%* Amenities: Free Breakfast Free Internet (in Room) Free Parking Pet Friendly Outdoor Pool Shuttle Non-Smoking Gym Handicap Accessible Business Center This is currently the only 3 star hotel with a 9 rating in the AZ - Tucson (Tucson Airport (TUS) bidding area and is easy to identify through the Express Deals. Sometimes you can bid 10% off the Express Deal, but it's usually 5% off the Express Deal. The Express Deal will be the only 9 rated 3 star rating in the category as of 10/20/2018. Please note that Express Deal taxes and fees in this bidding area are very high. Bidding reduces that amount. The Marriott employee rate for this hotel is $39.00/night plus tax so this ends being a pretty good deal.
  14. This just came up today on my bidding screen. First time it has ever happened. (I bid in Las Vegas up to four months out of a year, so I am used to bidding there.) s Priceline now including hotel/resort fee as a part of bidding? They just followed me on Twiter after I posted the screen shot btw. Will update once I get more info. Called a hotel for this bidding region directly and the said they would NOT honor that amount as there resort fee is twice as much per night and would charge me the resort fee on top of what Priceline is charging. BE CAREFUL! I did not submit the bid btw. And the hotel would not even match the rate, per night, that Priceline has as the published standard rate for the same time period. Odd??? 3 Star Upscale Hotel, Near Las Vegas Strip East Area 3-Star Check-In Date: Sunday, January 25, 2015 Check-Out Date: Sunday, February 15, 2015 Region Las Vegas, NV City Area: Near Las Vegas Strip East Check-In Time: Varies by hotel. 15. Ask for a x18 or x20 room on floors 3 through 7 to get a room with a balcony. Avoid the breakfast. There are additional TV channels that don't show up on the remote (4-2, 7-2, 9-2, 26-2, 26-3, 50-2, and 50-3) This hotel used to bid around $37/night until it got a 3 star rating. Now it's $40/night or more. Stayed here approximately 10 weeks over a six month period from 9/2012 to 6/2013.
  16. Also had Priceline $7.00/night coupon so it ended up being $300/week. This is my first post, but I will use the PRICELINE links from your site in the future. I have lived in hotels since September 2012. After getting the hang of using both Priceline and Hotwire after the first month, I am paying at most $1400/month for my housing. It is cheaper than living in D.C. If anyone needs advice on how to live in hotels, please let me know. These boards are a great resource. Thanks for allowing me to post. DQ
