I did use the PRICELINE link with the dates and city in the upper right hand corner to start my look. I hope it registered that I did.

It appears that the Hilton was going for $85 ($102 incl taxes and fees) on Hotwire based on amenity comparison on Betterbidding and $116 ($130 after taxes) pre-pay and $179 best available non-prepay rate ($201.29 after taxes) on Hilton.com.

First bid was for $75 and it was accepted (i should have started lower given all the other areas that don't have 4-star hotels that I could have used for multiple bids!) Still pleased with the result. The comparable rate on the Hyatt site for the night was $229 and HOTWIRE was showing the what appeared to be the Hyatt for $112.

Started bidding at $90. Rebid at $105, $120, and then succesfully at $140. Based on other successful bidders in the forum, I should have bid $125 after $120 since the Intercontinental was clearing many others at $100-120, but I also wanted to bid a little higher to see if I could get the Hyatt Century Plaza and I did. For those who get the Hyatt, there is a $31 valet parking charge so take that into consideration when bidding.

Bid 2 days ago, using rebidding for MTE, MTW, and UM/CPS and started at $110 and was rejected all the way up to $150 before exhausting all the options. I got a note that said it had been a day since I bid and that I can bid again (i thought i had to wait 72 hrs?). Today, I tried UM/CPS at $155, $165, and $175 and was rejected. Moved onto MTE and was accepted at $155 (i know...i probably should have started lower even if my lower bids were rejected just a couple days ago, but I also expected to pay more because it is a holiday long weekend). btw, Hotwire had the Hyatt for $205 per night for the same period.

I'm a little late to help dlublin, but i can confirm that this hotel is the Willard (See my post from December 23rd).

5* DC (White House - Capitol Hill) Willard Intercontinental Amenities: Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center I booked this on 12/22 (when I looked on 12/21, it was $124 so i got a $2 surcharge for procrastinating:). The total including taxes and fees of $24.95 was $150.95. On the Interncontinental website, the least expensive rooms at the Willard for the same date were $179 ($204.95 including tax) for 21-day advance, non-refundable reservation.
