  1. I went ahead and made the booking and sure enough it is Rosen Centre Hotel through Better Bidding. I am very pleased with the booking. Before I booked I did go to the website and it says there is NO availability on the night we check in. But we got matched with this hotel anyway. Why is that?
  2. I would like information on which hotel this could be. Thanks for any help with this one: Orlando Sea World I-Drive South 4* rating Check in: 10/20/17 Check out: 10/22/17 Nightly rate: $70.00 Amenities Include: Free Internet, Pool(s), Pet friendly, Fitness center, Business center and more... EASY TAB: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Children's activities
  3. Thank you so very much! You are great! Let me sleep on this and try again this week. I am still trying to just catch up on myself on what just happened!
  4. Everyone who is reading this post. ALWAYS listen to the recommendations given by the Admins of the Better Bidding forum. Okay. Here is what happened. I called Hotwire. The representative wanted to look up my reservation and see if he can assist. I of course allowed him to do just that. He went over the notes from last nights phone call. He understood my concerns. He offered the same cancellation with the 100 dollar fee. I of course respectfully declined and requested to speak to a supervisor. That request was immediately given and a supervisor came on shortly. She read the notes and understood my concerns. She explained to me Hotwire's policy regarding blind bookings. They cannot refund directly, HOWEVER she called the hotel on my behalf and explained the situation while I was placed on hold. She came back on and the property agreed to refund my payment. This was absolutely fantastic. I should be receiving a refund on my credit card in the coming days. Now, I asked the supervisor about this and explained these fees need to be disclosed. She suggested I do not do blind bookings as these fees can show up after the booking is completed. I asked: What if the cleaning fee is $500.00? Is this reasonable? I do not think that just because it is a blind booking that these fees should not be disclosed. It is not fair to the consumer. It does appear they have received other complaints (not necessarily regarding this property) but of the hidden fee in general. in closing I applaud Hotwire for helping me. I also applaud this property for doing the right thing and issuing a refund. This speaks highly of their customer service. I think Hotwire needs to look into this matter and suggested they review their listings and how fees are disclosed. Now I am up in arms on what to do here? I still need to find a place to stay. Is this simply a fluke or should I expect undisclosed fees on another booking I make? Thank you again for all your help here. This is quite an interesting experience.
  5. Thank you for your response. Yes, the resort fee was properly disclosed. No issue with that. The cleaning fee appears to not have been properly disclosed per the FTC guidelines that the disclosure of is "clear and conspicuous" when booking the reservation. I called Hotwire. They understand my concern and offered me a credit refund on a non cancellable reservation. However, a $100 cancel fee would apply. Since the cleaning fee is less than the cancel fee I declined the credit refund offer. I called the property and expressed my concern. They told me to take it up with Hotwire. It is their policy which is disclosed on their website. One problem. I booked through a third party and did not know officially what the actual property would be until after the transaction was completed. This charge will apply at the time of stay. Any reasonable consumer would go ahead and stay at the property and dispute the improper undisclosed charge during the visit. I believe it is the property's responsibility to make certain the third party has their information that is "clear and conspicuous" during the booking phase of the transaction. It is the property that will be charging the fee, not Hotwire. This is going to be a very interesting scenario and a learning exercise. This forum as been very helpful. I frequent Hotwire often and have been satisfied with their services I am not sure if this should be marked as a "Win" because essentially I am already disputing the improperly disclosed fee. You may want to follow this transaction and see what the outcome is. The trip is next week so this will take place soon. I am satisfied with the better bidding forum and hotwire. I am unsatisfied that it appears that the cleaning fee of $80 which is beyond the threshold that any reasonable consumer, if disclosed properly, would have selected another option. Stay tuned. I will update you with what happens. Thank you.
  6. Your guess was correct. I am confused though. At check out on hotwire via this forum I was told about the resort fee only. Upon assignment i was then informed about a $80 per stay cleaning. This does not appear to be appropriate. This fee was not properly disclosed to the consumer.

  21. Hello, I would like help to ID this 3 star condo in Kissimmee. On my hotwire search. I got a rate of 67 dollars and it showed up again as 64 dollars. The amenities include: Free Parking Air-Conditioning Business Center Free Internet Fitness Center Resort Pool(s) Studio Restaurant(s) At the top the following message was shown: "Book soon! The last person got the Fantasy World Club Villas." Reviews in the tripadvisor area have it as 4 out of 5.0. Orlando Airport is reported to be 8.4 miles away Any thoughts?
  22. Here is my review of this property: I stayed here from 1/23 to 1/26. I showed early but I was able to check in as they had rooms available. I gave them my information and then I was told I needed to finalize my check in over at the VIP desk where I would get my keys. So at the VIP desk I was welcomed as an "owner" and they asked me how long I owned my property? I was like, "i am not an owner, I booked on an online travel website" She is like, "that's strange they have you as an owner with owner benefits but we will just keep it the way it is" I was like "okay" with a puzzled look. Then she says as an owner I am entitled to a free breakfast buffet and amenities. I was like thanks but she said it is policy that a refundable deposit of $20 be given and it will be returned as this was for the amenity card and refunded at the buffet. Also we were to be given $75 cash plus our refund of $20 and a discount book for attending. I knew where this was going but since the agreement said express I was okay with it. She was really pumping it up on how wonderful the buffet is and for the entire family to come hungry as the selections are amazing. I said okay. She also commented that they also like to discuss the property with us and that we were on express for like 60 mins of our time. I was again okay. I got the keys, amenity card, and cookies. We booked the breakfast on the morning of our departure right before we would head to our last theme park. The room was very nice. The property is very nice. The place is huge and there is lots of security which is nice. I liked the property and our accomodations. We had a great view from our rear balcony. In a nutshell, the property was nice. Let's fast forward to our last morning. We pack up the car and head over to the buffet. We show up and are asked to sit on a couch. There are several others with us. Then some guy comes up and calls our name. He is very nice and welcomes us and takes up upstairs to this big cafeteria style room. There is the buffet. My first look was like this is NOT was I was told. It was simply a pan of runny eggs, sausage, cereal, milk, hot chocolate, coffee, and some pastries. Hardly, what we were expecting. THEN, came the TIMESHARE PRESENTATION. Oh gosh. The salesperson made it a point that we had a big stamp that said VIP and we were classified as owners. It was all an act. Lots of personal questions about finances and other stuff all associated with timeshare purchasing. I thought it was actually amusing and looked at my time and knew this is for an hour and we are out of here. Well the pressure tactics came and again I thought it was amusing. I had zero interest in purchasing anything. They are the ones that pushed us to attend and I am giving them their one hour and that's all. Well the time was ending and the sales guy who was so nice in the beginning started to become very frustrated with me especially since I started to laugh at the idea of purchasing. He even used off color language. When that happened the time was up and we started to get up and get our door prizes. He brought over his manager who sat and I refused to speak to him except to say there is no way we are purchasing and we are not interested in any offers and we are done. The salesperson said if we leave then we get NOTHING! We will not receive the cash or refund or discount book. I said, Oh yeah???? and laughed at him......I didn't ask for a manager in the timeshare presentation area I went right to the lobby area where there were SEVERAL other folks on the couches waiting to go on this ridiculous scam because that is what it is. I asked to speak to the manager and made my voice loud enough so the others on the couches could listen. The manager there in an INSTANT agreed with my concerns when I asked if they train their employees to use threats (you GET NOTHING if you leave) and make inappropriate comments. He immediately took me to the rewards center and I received ALL my gifts. The salesperson we had at the presentation came up to him to perhaps tell his side of the story and I told the manager I wanted NOTHING (no pun intended) to do with him. He agreed and let me leave with my gifts. In summary the property is very nice but beware of the VIP desk. You may want to consider avoiding. However, if you are okay with confrontations and are brave enough to stop the presentation and take a stand you will get through it. I read reviews that people have been kept for HOURS there. Either insist you do not with to see VIP (you will not get an amenity card that is the stickler) or simply draw the line in the sand when your express hour has expired. I hear if you refuse the presentation and pay them the $20 you will end up with a dumpy room. I also hear if you end up with a dumpy room you can tell them and they will move you. At that point I would ask for an amenity card for them giving you crummy accomodations. I treat people like how I get treated. They do not deserve any different. If they are rude to you, be rude back and demand what you were promised. You can get through it. Good luck!
  23. I have some comments I like to make of this hotel. I will be posting them in the hotel reviews. I think you will find my experience interesting to say the least. UPDATE: Here is my review
