  2. Sat, Dec 22 - Mon, Dec 24, was $132, now $89/night. 95% recommended with 48 reviews. 4.5 Trip Advisor rating (272 reviews). Said last person got Intercontinental Hotel: The Wharf. Complimentary: Free internet. Amenities: Business center, Fitness center, Pet friendly, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Smoke-free rooms. Allows one to choose bed type: staff pick, king, or two queens ($10/night extra). Do you think it's the The Wharf? Thank you in advance.
  3. I tried going into the regions and selected Pittsburgh, which worked for PRICELINE, but not HOTWIRE. Anyway, here are the two towns and lodgings: Bentleyville: Free breakfast Free Internet Free parking Business center Fitness center Pool(s) Self-service laundry Smoke-free rooms $71 (from $99), 2.5* 95% recommend Says last person got Holiday Inn Express. California: Free breakfast Free Internet Free parking Business center Fitness center Indoor Pool(s) Pool(s) Self-service laundry Smoke-free rooms $88, 2.5* 100% recommend Both are guaranteed hotel chains. Thanks!
  4. After staying, I learned the shuttle does run still, but not at all hours. Still, my advice is to not count on a shuttle if its listed as an amenity.
  5. Shuttle was claimed in the amenities, but the shuttle has since been discontinued. Additionally, it claimed we would get a bed choice, which we did not. So if you're picking this due to the shuttle and bed choice, as we did, don't fall for it! The TripAdvisor reviews, and there are at least 500!, are mainly positive however. So hopefully, if I don't have an asthma attack from it also being a pet friendly hotel, I will enjoy it. Amenities listed: Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access Price was $51 before taxes and fees. Located in Brook Park.
  6. We canceled our trip and didn't go. But I had booked on booking.com, not Hotwire or Priceline. Don't know when, if ever, I will get to go.
  7. Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Kitchenette. 80% recommended. Price was $43 before tax. Total price is a bit off since I don't have a record of the exact price.
  8. 3 Star, Millbrae, Aloft San Francisco Airport [09/12-13/14, $92 (w/tax ~$112)] Interesting did not claim Pet Friendly (but on website proudly states such) - only Business Center, Fitness Center, and Swimming Pool. And, although not listed, website and phone claim is a free airport shuttle 24/7. Website claims free wifi, too. Did allow early check-in - as early as 11 am. When we said 1 pm, the front desk said that would be fine, too.
  9. Thank you, Mayonit! We've got our hotel, the Maris Hotel. We spend most of the time at the World Centre, so we're not really doing anything much else. But good restaurant suggestions would be great!
  10. We're planning a trip to Italy and then going to Pilgrimage to Haifa. Dates look like 11/15-12/03/2014. We're leaving and returning from Seattle. I started out with Hotwire and Priceline links, but since these require payment at the time of booking, didn't use them. So went to booking.com. Succeeded in booking hotels for all destinations. In Rome, we're going to B&B 5 (rated 9.5/10), for $171 from 11/16-18. Includes continental breakfast. In Florence, thus far, we're going to Hotel Masaccio (rated 6.8/10, but only 59% on TripAdvisor), for $144 from 11/18-20. Breakfast is available for $7/person. In Venice, we're going to Ca' Arco Antico (rated 8.3/10, 91% on TripAdvisor), for $175 from 11/20-22. Includes continental breakfast. Apparently haven't booked anything for Milan yet; interestingly, rates seem to be higher than the other three Italian cities. In Haifa, we're going to Maris Hotel (rated 8.5/10, but 90% on TripAdvisor), for $764 from 11/23-12/03. No breakfast. We are open to other suggestions, but think B&B 5 in Rome is ideal, especially since it's near many of the places we plan to go. But we're really wondering what to budget for airfare - and when we should book. I was wondering if it made sense to fly to London and then book to Rome (thereby adding another leg to the trip), but it doesn't really seem to help airfare too much (at least when I did it in February). Sightseeing suggestions and restaurants would also be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
  11. This trip was to meet up with our kid and his bride to be - but it never happened. I instead went to a DC area conference - and did use your site to book one night in Baltimore. (I hope; I know we used Hotwire or Priceline, anyway.) However, we are almost definitely going to an AIA conference there from 06/24-28. But the conference is downtown and, thus far, we're booked at Club Quarters - Central Loop for $1,163 for 7 nights (plus $190.72 - 16.4% - taxes, so $1,353.72 total) via booking.com. We haven't booked airline tickets yet; Kayak says we can wait. Right now, the dates I want are about $400 odd RT per person. By the by - I absolutely HAVE been using your Hotwire and PRICELINE links - but other sites have been cheaper. I'm really trying to support your site since this service is so helpful, but I need to use what works. Thank you again for all your help!
  12. We ended up not going after all. I have been having more luck using booking.com than either Hotwire or Priceline. (So perhaps you might consider adding them, especially since Priceline owns them - at least according to another post I read.) But, speaking of booking.com, after spending hours if not days looking, I ended up booking (then canceling) a king room at Shilo Inn Suites Portland / Beaverton for $217 for three nights. Of course, since we didn't go, I can't tell you how it went. I just posted regarding Chicago - we ended up not going there, also. But, as an aside, we are going from 06/24-29, so the insight provided was quite helpful.
  13. We're going to Portland from 04/09-12/14 (exactly a week from today), but prices even on Hotwire or Priceline make it look like we're going to Seattle, instead! (And, actually, there are way better downtown Seattle hotels than Portland ones - for cheaper!) Even the one star hotels are over $70! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  15. Thank you so much for your replies. I guess I should have read your nice post from 2010 where you give some very good advice, though, first! I listed more than two hotels, though, what other hotels would you suspect? (Note that I had two Glenbrook properties listed, too.) After all, it may be worth renting a car between 4 people rather than paying exorbitant prices downtown Chicago. And I'd like to give the other couple some options... And thanks again in advance.
  16. When I went to the support page, I only saw Hawaiian Air as a sponsor. What happened to the other airlines you had listed? And do you think you could add Frontier? Thank you.
  17. I had posted a reply to see where an individual "landed" so to speak and asked about my own upcoming trip and, after reading other posts, realized that I should be starting a new post, instead. We are meeting another couple in the Chicago area either 09/04 to 09/09 or sometime around 09/06 to 09/11. We specifically want to see the Baha'i Temple in Wilmette at least one of the days we're in the area. I had asked if it was better / easier to be in Chicago and go to Wilmette or be somewhere in Evanstan or Northbrook areas and go to Chicago (especially if we're considering using public transportation rather than renting a car), but saw that the Chicago hotels are quite a bit more expensive. (Of course, that may be offset if, to stay in the 'burbs, we have to rent a car.) So we're looking for suggestions about what would be a better strategy, especially considering that we'd probably be most comfortable at a 3 star or above (unless there's some decent 2.5 stars). What I saw when I used your site to check the services: PRICELINE Skokie - Niles - Evanston 3 star Pool Business center Bed choice $92/night (no reference for normal price) HOTWIRE Skokie - Niles - Evanston 3 star Free Parking Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) Tennis Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower $73 (from $140) Suspect Holiday Inn in Skokie 3.5 star Free Parking Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower $98 (from $130) Suspect is Evanston Hilton Northbrook - Glenview - Mt. Thank you so much in advance for any assistance!
  18. This was way back in February, so I'm wondering if you booked - and, if so, what hotel you ended up at. AaronJB, We would like to go to Wilmette to see the Baha'i Temple at least one day of our "planned" 09/06 to 09/11 stay. We haven't decided yet if we'd need to rent a car or whether we can use public transportation (preferred, but only if not a huge time constraint). But we don't know whether it would make more sense to stay in Evanston area or Northbrook area as opposed to Chicago proper money-wise. (Cheaper to stay in 'burbs and go into Chicago or cheaper to stay in Chicago and go to Wilmette the one day.) We will be two couples. We'd like to stay under $100/night if possible. Any assistance is appreciated!
  19. Here are the amenities as listed. (Thanks for your instruction on how to retrieve). Indoor pool(s) Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  20. So how was it? I'm looking at trying to find something in that general vicinity for next week (although I'm not sure I'll go). But now Priceline is saying that the Residence Inn is $249/night (normal price) whereas the Doubletree (where the conference is) is at $189/night (regular rate - and not one that is on either Hotwire or Priceline's seeming list). The Priceline Express Deal for what I think is the Residence Inn is $72, which would be a great deal if it were the Residence Inn (which I understand is having some construction done). And don't worry - if I do book, I'll use this site's links!
  21. The price waffled between around $51 and $56 and I finally made up my mind with just a week to go to take the $53. I was very happy about it as this hotel has been ranked on Google Maps as Eugene's #10 hotel (although only #20 on Trip Advisor). When booking use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on this website!
