  1. The dates are set in stone. I guess I have no choice but to bid higher. I may have to consider a 3.5 or 3* at this point.
  2. Dulles North (Herndon) Dulles South (Chantilly) I've been at it for a few days now, rebidding every 24 hours.
  3. I am having a very diffifult time finding a bargain on a 4* hotel near Dulles. I live in the area and I usually have pretty good luck finding a 4* in the neighborhood of $80-$90. The dates I'm looking for are 9-12 Jun. Please help.
  4. We are 2 adults and 1 13yr old child. I will just use my Govt Discount and book the Embassy Suites on International Blvd for $90 per night. Thanks.
  5. We are headed back to Orlando to visit family and to attend a class reunion. I'm trying to book a 3*+ Suite since our son is coming along. I've looked at HOTWIRE and PRICELINE and I cannot narrow down a suite at ~ $75 per night. Please help.
  6. I received a phone call from a friend of mine who would like to join me on this road trip. I called Priceline and asked if there was any way to get another room at this rate. Priceline connected me to their sale department who offered a room at $199. I then phoned Hilton and asked for a discounted rate after explaining rate I received through priceline. Again, the Hilton would not budge on their listed rate. I bit the bullett and used this site's PRICELINE link and placed another bid. 4* Hotel, Convention Center/Warehouse District, dates 20-22 Jun, rate $52.00. I won another room at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside. Thanks again Better Bidding.
  7. The Renaissance Pere Marquette is in a great location, 1 block away from Canal Street. The lobby is filled with relaxing, contemporary furniture and seating surfaces which were great for entertaining. The rooms were spacious for such an old building and clean. The bed was comfortable. We did not spend allot of time in the rooms. We left the rooms for a late breakfast and returned in the late afternoon before dinner. Each day when we returned, the rooms were cleaned. The only negative think I could muster up about this hotel is the very small swimming pool and expensive valet parking. Expensive Valet parking is the norm for hotels located in down town areas in just about every major city in the US. I highly reccomend staying in the Renaissance Pere Marquette.
  8. Congratulations on your winning bid. You will love this hotel. The lobby is a very nice place to relax and have a drink.
  9. I followed Beckles example and bid Downtown and Convention Center zones. Dates are 6/20 - 6/22. My first bid was $49 and I was asked to increas my bid by $10. I added French Quarter and increased my bid by $2 and got the Hilton. $51.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $102.00 Taxes and Fees: $24.28 Total Charges*: $126.28 I just came back from New Orleans last week and I am on my way to pick up my son from visiting my parents for 2 weeks. Thanks again
  10. I used this site's PRICELINE link and placed a bid of $61 for 2 rooms. I was hoping for the Sheraton however, this is still a great deal.
  11. I grew up on the West Bank. The area is across the river from downtown New Orleans. Unless you are coming to New Orleans to visit someone that lives on the West Bank, you are better off staying downtown.
  12. This is an old thread but I was asked to provide a list of the amenities for Le Pavilion. This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access
  13. I'm headed home to New Orleans to attend a funeral and this weekend is our 15th wedding anniversary. I decided to look for a hotel to see if I can spend time with my grieving family and take the wife out on the town for our anniversary. I duplicated Mariposa's winning priceline bid for $62 a night and received the same deal. This is one of my favorite hotels in New Orleans. The only complaint that I have is the parking fee. p.s. I used the PRICELINE link.
  14. I would like to keep it at $100 per night per room or less per night. I need 2 rooms.
  15. I'm looking for 3.5* - 4* hotels. The dates are 12-15 Feb 09. Location Downtown, Convention Center and French Quarter are ideal.
  16. I'm looking to travel with another couple for their first Mardi Gras experience. I am originally from New Orleans and would like to stay at a down town hotel instead of staying with family as usual. Traditionally hotel prices are inflated during Mardi Gras and I would hate to pay $200 for a hotel I normally pay ~$70 a night for. Any tips?
  17. There was a HUGE Lutheran convention in New Orleans last weekend. I was lucky to find a hotel room, I had to split my stays. I used this site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links and I got the following deals. 24 Jul 09 3.5* from HOTWIRE Le Pavillion for $102. 25-27 Jul 4* Intercontinental for $70 per night. Thanks again.
  18. Im awaiting a decison on bidding $65 a night with PRICELINE. I will post the results.
  19. I cannot find a deal on a 4* for 24-27 Jul. I've tried downtown/convention center and French Quarter. I'm originally from New Orleans and I am traveling with a friend who is a first time visitor. I would like to stay downtown or near the French Quarter. I'm targetting the Hilton Riverside and the one of the Marriots, I've stayed at all of them a few times. I'm up to $65 and I cannot catch a break HELP!!!!!
  20. Follow Up. The hotel was great. The room we has was similar to a suite. It contained a regrigerator, microwave, a full sink, kitchen cabinets with china and flatware. At check-in, I asked for a King bed and was given one with no problems. I did not use the pool or eat or drink at any of the restaurants or bars. We were in town for a wedding and to visit family. We mainly used the hotel as a place to sleep and get dressed.
  21. Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access I was hoping for the Rosen but instead I got the Westin. Still, not a bad deal. I used the site's HOTWIRE link.
  22. I used the PRICELINE link from this site along with information from this post Priceline Westin Buckhead to cherry pick this deal. I started off the bid with $58 knowing priceline would ask for me to increase the bid by $17. I did just that and won the Westin Buckhead for $75 per night for 2 nights. I love the location and plan on spending quite a bit of time at Dantannas and The Palm. This will be a nice local get away for our 14th wedding anniversary.
  23. Dantannas is also close by and is a great restaurant. Dantannas has a great bar area for watching sports and has a cigar room.
