Even though I am a new official member to this community, I have been following the posts for a long time now. My approach when this occurs (and there have been initial onsets when it appeared it would), I just tell them that I know how to manipulate the reservation system; so why not get the hotel I want for a fraction of the cost? If they ask specifics just smile and say "the Internet is a powerful tool." In reality, this is not far from the truth. We are all hear to either find the best deal on our specific hotels, or the best deal for a hotel class. Either way, as someone else posted earlier, you will sleep on the same pillow - just for a lot less $$.
