In regards to the Tampa Hotel thread, I did not purchase the room that I inquired about. I was able to get a room at another hotel for a fair price in a location that I desired. Thank you. Does this satisfy the requirement for closing the thread?

My responses have been in regards to the Tampa Thread, I did not use HOTWIRE for travel. ON May 23, 2013 I responded to the Administator's request and indicated that I was not bidding or purchasing the room regarding my inquiry and had instead obtained another room at a higher price point because of the uncertainty. I therefore assumed that I had closed the thread. Please advise if this is sufficient. I hope that I can get the information regarding the HOTWIRE inquiry.

On May 23,2013 after your request, I responded that I had closed the thread and that I had actually decided not to pursue the offering and had secured a hotel with a slightly higher price point. Please provide further clarification on how I can close the thread and what is needed before you respond to my latest Hotwire request.

First Hotel 2.0* star, $40.00 with room standard price of $76.00, Sea World IDrive South area. Amentities include: Restaurant, free internet,Free Parking, Fitness Center, Self serving laundry, pool(s), golf nearby, 70% recommended. SEcond Hotel 2.5* star, $50.00 with room generally going for $83.00, Sea World IDrive South area. Amentities include: Free Breakfast, free internet,Free Parking, Self serving laundry, pool, accessible bathroom, accessible path of travel, in room accessiblity, 60% recommended. Third hotel on Hotwire is: 3* star, $49.00, regularly going for $134.00 saving $83.00, hotel charges resort fee of $15.00, 60% recommended by Hotwire customers. The dates are 5/31/ to 6/2/13 for Tampa Fl airport area, Guest score rated 9 out of 10. Using a 20.00 coupon I was able to acquire the Hunt Valley Inn for the price of 112.33 for 2 nights.

I wanted to report that I was able to book on Hotwire for 2 nights, 4-17 to 4-19 at a cost of $112.33. On the day I bookied I was offered a one day sale to use a $20.00 off coupon. This enabled me to get the pay $112.33 for a 3 str hotel. I hope the hotel is up to standards. Thanks so much for your help.

I wanted to report that I won the bid using your suggested strategy and PRICELINE link. I started at $43.00 and was rejected and invited to rebid immediately by increasing by 13.00 to $56.00. I instead waited until the next day and rebid. Becasue my time was running outand I would be tied up and did not have time to wait out the process, I bid for a 3 star at $50.00 and it was accepted. The winning hotel was Hyatt Place on South Cerrilos Rd. Basically, I received what I think is a good choice for the going rate of $50.00 which is a discount over the $94.00 listed on its site. It is approximately 7 miles from the center of town. Thanks for your assistance.

The lowest price is important. Since I had never seen the Express Deal I wanted information before making a bid on Priceline. As I was researching I came across this category and wanted clarification. I was looking to bid approximately $50.00 for 3* as am opening bid based on the wins that I have seen on the board. I also would prefer to get something like the Courtyard and thought if it was identified as a possible hotel for the Express Deal that I might purchase that one instead of going with the unknown So I am dealing with two issues as I see it. Help with identifying the hotel listed in Express DEal for $54 and also bidding on a possible 3* if I have to bid. Therefore, I was wondering what your best guess was for the Express Deal property because if the Express Deal is $54 and I bid $50 then that is not that much of a difference. My question, is this a good strategy since the response was that some people get better deals bidding instead of purchasing the Express Deals. Since the last 3* on the board went for $50.00 that I saws, is my opening bid of $50.00 too high? Thanks Kelken

The hotel is listed at $54.00 and amenities are: Free internet Airport Shuttle Free breakfast Business Center FRee parking indoor/outdoor pool Fitness center I also would like to know the difference between Express Deals and bidding the best price. I have researched the forums on this board and found that the last winning bid reported on Priceline was for a 3* hotel at Courtyard South Cerillos Road in May 2012. With the price that is being offered on this Express Deal of $54.00, what is the advantage of bidding and how is it different. Also, can you earn points by purchasing the express deal unlike bidding on a property.
