  1. I went with 3* with smoke free, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, laundry in Burlington Woburn Lexington area it was the Courtyard Woburn Boston North. I used the link on the message board. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but it's a great deal. Thanks for all the help.
  2. I went with hotwire in the end, should I post my results here or create a new post in the hotwire forum?
  3. I did as you suggested and all my bids got rejected. I found a 2* in Wakefeild Ma for $56 at Travelocity's top secret hotels. Do you think I can do any better with priceline? Thanks.
  4. Thanks for your response. I'm sorry I wasn't clear. When I said my minimum was 2 star I meant that's the lowest I would go, but if I could get a three star for $50 or a drop more I would rather do that. If I start bidding for 2 star doesn't that mean I can't win a 3 star? Thanks again for your help.
  5. We would like to take a vacation to Boston from Sunday 8/21- Wednesday 8/24. We are on a budget and don't want to spend much more than $50 a night. If it's too much more then we can only stay 2 nights. We realize at that price we can't actually stay in the city itself, but we would like to stay as close as possible. We are not picky about the hotel as long as it's clean, bed bug free, and family friendly (we are traveling with a 3 year old and 1.5 year old) we are happy. What's the best strategy? Thanks for the help.
  6. I followed your stragedy and I won the Viking for $50. my exact steps were: bidded 3* Newport for $40. rejected added re-bid zone1...for $45. rejected closed browser and re-accessed priceline selected Newport and re-bid zone2 for Bid $50 and won. I used the link at savingsbarn.com Directly from the hotel it would have costed $110, that a lot of savings! Thanks you so much for all your help. :)
  7. very sorry about starting a new thread, I just thought since I'm discussing priceline now it should go on the priceline section. My maxium bid would be cheaper then what I can get on hotwire. On Hotwire I can get a hotel for $78 + $15.48 in taxes= $93.48. I am new to pricline so I don't know if they charge tax or other fees. If so then my maxium bid would be something around $90 - taxes and fees. Once again thanks for your help.
  8. I would prefer the Hyatt, but I would be happy with any 3*. Thanks for the help.
  9. unfortunely do to a unforeseen event I was never able to go on the vaction and therfore never ended up bidding on anything. Thanks for the help anyway!
  10. For 2/10-2/11/07 hotwire is listing a 4* in Newport-Middletown-Jamestown for $78 with the following amenities: oceanfront, pool, business, golf, spa, fitness, restaurant, hi-speed internet, tennis. Could this be the Hyatt Regency, but they added more amenities? If so can't I get it cheaper through Priceline? Thanks in advance for your help.
  11. I really wanted at least a 4* not a 3* can I get 4* in jersey city? Thanks!
  12. It realy depends on the hotel. If I can get a really nice room in Jersey City full of amenties versus an ok hotel in manhatan for around the same price I would perfer Jersey city, but if the hotels are equal I won't mind paying a little more for manhatan (under $50 including parking).
  13. I would like to book a *4 or higher room anywhere within a 2 hour radius of nyc from 12/23-24. I really don't care where as long as the hotel is nice and the price is good. Being just before christmas is there any where which would be cheap? If possiable I would like to spend under $150. If I wait till last minute is it possiable to find cheap prices? Thanks in advance for the help. :)
