  1. Again! 2.5* Ocean City (Ocean City Central) Princess Bayside Beach Hotel Funny to me that I am also the last poster in this territory and it is for the same hotel. Well, I went with what works… My target hotel was the 2.5* Princess Bayside because being next to Seacrets is my priority. I began with my dates and BiddingHelper.com. I browsed all the offers on the HW Easy View tab for Ocean City Central and clicked on the 2.5* offer for $109. When I clicked the blue “See Match From Hotel List”, the guess by “HotelReveals.com” was my target, the Princess Bayside Beach Hotel. When I clicked the “Buy Offer” button, and was directed to the HW page to complete the purchase, they presented me with two blurred out teasers. One was in the center of my browser with the words “Your Hot Rate hotel is guaranteed to be 1 of these 3”, and Princess Bayside was among them. The second blurred out teaser was in the top left with the words “Tap to reveal actual hotel photo”. I did and it was identical to a photo on the general HW listing for Princess Bayside, so I added the betterbidding.com’s current HW bonus coupon for 5% off then clicked through with my purchase and the result was the Princess Bayside as I expected. My all in price for 1 room, 2 nights is $275.97 so I am super happy. The booking.com price is $335.44, so I saved 18 percent. Amenities: Free parking, Free internet, Near beach, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby
  2. I should have said that the price was $80 in the sub heading because that was the offer that was accepted. my all in price with taxes and fees was $540 for 6 nights, or $90/night.
  3. Hi I wanted a 4* in Madrid in the Gran Via District so I started with the Bidding Helper tool and reviewed the options on HW Easy View and PRICELINE EXPRESS tabs. I was looking for 6 nights and noticed that the current Priceline Coupon for five percent would give the greatest discount. Luckily, the prediction option I saw on PRICELINE EXPRESS appealed to me the most. When I clicked the BUY NOW button a cautionary pop up was displayed that said, “The prediction match was less than 100 percent, proceed anyway?” I had not checked the amenities list at all so I decided to click through anyway and was happy to receive the expected hotel.
  4. I always start from betterbidding.com for PRICELINE and HOTWIRE purchases because I use BiddingHelper.com and mapsandhotels.com to research all purchases. My priority was to be near Seacrets on 49th Street. Since I wanted to be near a particular location rather than within a large zone I toggled between the Hotwire and Hotwire Easy View tabs and determined that I could stay at the Bayfront Princess. On Hotwire it was $180/nt but on Hotwire Easy View the same exact review rating, and distance from Ocean City was $123. The Green and Blue buttons further confirmed that I was likely to get the Bayfront Princess and indeed I did, meeting my expectations for $123/nt. Amenities Free parking, Free internet, Near beach, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessibility Accessible path of travel
  5. I always start from betterbidding.com for my research and priceline purchases because I use Bidding Helper and mapsandhotels.com. BiddingHelper.com is a particularly powerful tool. For this win my target area was Mayfair – Soho and my price range was up to $210 dollars so I was happy to see that there was a chance at a 5* according the Priceline Express tab offerings. I had about ten zones to work with and I am happy with the result as it is the area I wanted. Total for 4 nights was $925. Thanks.
  6. I had been researching Dublin City Center area on my dates for awhile and was planning to start a bidding strategy where my target would be 210-220 for a 4*, but I had also set a price target for HOTWIRE on RATEDROP.COM for less. Today I received an alert that a 4* in my preferred area was 188 and the amenities set matched your research on The Clarence Dublin (Free Internet, Restaurant(s), Golf nearby, Children's activities). I bought it and it surely was The Clarence and I’m pretty happy about that. Tonight’s Hotwire rate for the Clarence is 288. Thanks RateDrop!
  7. During my research of the Charleston Historic District, I found that the Hotwire area map of Historic Charleston Downtown plus Charleston French Quarter matched closely to the Priceline area map for Downtown Charleston-Historic District. This was why I had included French Quarter (Hotwire) in my original post. Thereuare you did drill down on my long post, and the Priceline deals did seem better, plus I have only booked Priceline deals from this site, so your response certainly made sense. I did use your PRICELINE link to the 5* 224, then confirmed everything and when I clicked through it was The Belmond. I’m looking forward to this stay and really appreciate your efforts.
  8. Hi I’m looking for a one night stay to Charleston, SC for a single night on Friday August 18. I need a hotel and request help in identifying my options. My budget is 225 and my preferred area is the downtown historic district, 4* or above. We are a party of two and one large bed is desired. For Downtown Charleston/Historic District on the PRICELINE EXPRESS tab I am seeing: 4* 213 Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities 4.5* 233 No Smoking Rooms/Facilities 5* 224 Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities For Historic Downtown Charleston on the Hotwire tab I am seeing: 4* 221 Complimentary: Free Internet Amenities: Business centerFitness centerGolf nearbyRestaurant(s)Smoke-free roomsSpa services Accessibility: Accessible for visually impaired FROM EASY VIEW TAB: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower 4* 246 Complimentary: Free Internet Amenities: Boutique hotelBusiness centerChildren's activitiesFitness centerGolf nearbyPool(s)Restaurant(s) NOTE: DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE EASY VIEW TAB 5* 336 Complimentary: Free Internet Amenities: Business centerFitness centerIndoor pool(s)Pet friendlyPool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundrySmoke-free rooms FROM EASY VIEW TAB: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Spa services, Children's activities, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower For Charleston French Quarter on the Hotwire tab I am seeing: 4* 207 Complimentary: Free breakfastFree Internet Amenities: Boutique hotelBusiness centerFitness centerSmoke-free rooms FROM EASY VIEW TAB: FULL AMENITIES: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Business center, Internet access 4.5* 341 Complimentary: Free Internet Amenities: Business centerGolf nearbyNear beachRestaurant(s)Smoke-free rooms Accessibility: Accessible for hearing impairedAccessible path of travel FROM EASY VIEW TAB: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Near beach, Smoke-free rooms, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking 4* 328 Complimentary: Free breakfastFree Internet Amenities: Boutique hotelSmoke-free rooms FROM EASY VIEW TAB: FULL AMENITIES: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Internet access I’ll be interested in your projections for the two 5* since they are priced widely apart. 10. I’m going to Boston for two nights next weekend for pleasure and had been monitoring this site and links, trying to find a way to stay in the Theater District or Copley Square for under 300 per night. I even considered two separate bids and the possibility of a hotel change, but the HOTWIRE combined rate for two nights was better than two single night rates. Tonight I saw an outrageously low HOTWIRE Hot Rate of 212 for Copley Square 4* but I did want to try NYOP and I knew at 4* there were a lot of rebid zones, so I used this NYOP strategy for a 4* in Copley Square or Theater District: Bid 180 rejected Add zone bid 184 rejected Add zone bid 188 rejected Add zone bid 192 rejected Add zone bid 196 rejected Add zone bid 199 rejected Add zone bid 202 rejected Add zone bid 205 rejected Add zone bid 208 rejected Add zone bid 211 rejected I returned to the Hotwire Hot Rate for Copley Square 4* for 212/night BUT when I clicked through the price changed to 304/night, which I didn’t want. I continued researching and found a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for 4* Copley Square for 245 which was also now on Hotwire Hot Rate Deals for 244 so I continued the same strategy. I had leftover bidding zones to add but I was able to use all rebid zones: 215 rejected Add zone bid 218 rejected Add zone bid 223 rejected Add zone bid 228 rejected Add zone bid 232 won Loews Boston Hotel Room subtotal: $464.00 Taxes & fees: $84.94 Total charged today: $548.94 I feel that this is substantially less than a rack rate and I’m very pleased with the location.
  11. I enjoyed this Wyndham Hotel. It’s very close to the historical areas like Ben Franklin’s gravesite. I walked a few times to the Reading Market about seven blocks away. The hotel was a high quality business hotel, room was large with micro and minifridge. Everyone was friendly.
  12. It is a great hotel. BTW the $40 tax was not a resort fee, just NYC and NYS taxes! One great amenity not listed was free in-room wifi.

  14. With Thereuare suggesting that 4.5 (possibly The Andaz) was on Priceline Express for 164, I decided to give Name Your Own Price a try: I started bidding in Rockefeller Center 4.5* $132 - rejected. Added a zone and rebid. $137 - rejected. Added a zone and rebid. $142 - rejected. Added a zone and rebid. $147 - rejected. Added a zone and rebid. $152 - Won The Andaz 5th Avenue! Room subtotal: $152.00 Taxes & fees: $40.56 Total charged today: $192.56 Amenities: Wireless internet connection in public areas, Exercise gym, On-site business center, Pets allowed, Restaurant, Non-smoking rooms (generic), Parking, Cable television Sure that 40 dollar fee is high and must be a resort fee or something, but it was disclosed to me in advance and I am happy about this win.
  15. Okay I see that I am mixing apples and oranges here, because The Lucerne and NYLO are on the Hotline hotels list, not the Priceline list. I'd be less interested in The Empire because I thought it would be fun to be away from the hustle of Lincoln Center and also to have a shot at free street parking in the 90's around Amsterdam. My second area choice might be Rockefeller Center but will do more research now. Have you fellow mods and posters figured out a strategy to stay clear of the CPS 4* Hudson or into a specific hotel such as the CPS 4.5* Essex House? I am still interested in the consensus of the ten free rebid zones for 4* or above in NYC.
  16. Hi, looking for a one night get-away on the UWS, I want to bid for a 4* and The Lucerne or NYLO would be good. Using the Priceline tab on BiddingHelper I'm seeing ten rebid zones! Is it this easy? 15 Flushing 16 Elmhurst - Corona 18 Jamaica 22 Bayside 24 Morningside Heights 26 Coney Island 27 Bronx 28 Washington Heights 29 Kennedy Airport 30 LaGuardia Airport
  17. My follow up is that it was good for the price, the parking is really free and worked out well, the location is very good, the internet is fine. It's really just an older hotel that still holds a little bit of that charm. The room was very clean but it's a standard motel room. I value location, free parking and free internet so I would re-book for this price.
  18. Using the BB HOTWIRE Easy View tab I booked a Hot Rate of 124 and won the Sea Club Resort. My priorities were: close to the beach, free parking and free internet. It’s on the Easy View tab with : FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Near beach, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry, Internet access. The Sea Club is not currently on this site’s Hotwire hotel list for Fort Lauderdale Beach. My total is 151 and I am pleased. 619 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304
  19. I did use the BetterBidding PRICELINE link for this win. I chose Four Stars in a single zone (Uptown-City Center) and won on my first bid of $120. I was a little letdown about winning without a chase but in the end I probably couldn’t have squeezed more than another $5 out of this deal. It’s a fine price based on reviews AND is within walking distance to the football stadium, exactly where I wanted to be. I would like to add that currently on the Priceline Hotel List View tab, on the area sidebar, this area is called Charlotte Downtown (also here at BetterBidding.com). When you switch to the NYOP tab, the map name for this same area is Uptown Charlotte-City Center-TWC Arena. My research found that locals call this area Uptown.
  20. I had two separate rooms with this win and thought both rooms were great. Not new but smelled fine. One had a 4x8 deck with a view of the large grounds and tennis courts. There are several buildings on this property, one was a separate pool area which I could access with my room card. A pool and whirlpool area were available here, with extra towels and showers, all included. This is a borderline 3* property because of the pool area.
  21. I did use the Better Bidding PRICELINE link to access this deal. I started at $90 for 3*, then went down to 2.5* and my bid was hit. Priceline is offering a regular rate for this hotel at $119 so I am happy with this win. The Saratoga area of this forum hasn't had posts for awhile, so I'd like to share an observation. In addition to viewing the PL zone map for Saratoga/Lake George, I found that I could do a direct search, in my case for Ballston Spa. The resulting map was a circular territory in a smaller area. I did do my bidding at this point rather than with the zone map area, but not for any particular reason. I also never found Roosevelt Inn and Suites on a hotel list on this forum. Having done a lot of browsing it was on my radar already. It looks like a great price and I will report back.
  22. Best Western Clifton Park 2 star 617 Plank Road , Clifton Park, NY 12065 I did use the better bidding PRICELINE link to access this deal. I started at $59 for 2 1/2 stars, came down to 2 stars and reduced my bid to 53, then added another zone (Troy) and won in my original zone. Nice! Offer: $58.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $58.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.25 Total Charged to Card: $72.25
  23. Marriott Philadelphia Downtown 4 star Convention Center - Mid Center City 1201 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107 I did use the better bidding PRICELINE link to access this deal. I started at $80 and added zones out of this star range until my bid was hit at 130. This is New year's Eve and I am very happy with this deal! Offer: $130.00 Rooms: 2 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $260.00 Taxes & Fees: $48.94 Total Charged to Card: $308.94
