  1. I used the HOTWIRE link to book this hotel for my husband's work trip. The icons shown before I booked were: Fitness Pool Restaurant High speed internet access Business Centre Golf nearby Spa
  2. Hi, I am replying to this because we never did get a room through Priceline/Hotwire. My friends, like all of them so far, have decided to forgo because they were scared and just booked through the site. I am sure they ended up paying a large sum for that weekend as there were some fights going on and something else. And I was using the links on here to start off.
  3. Yes we are okay with any of the 5 stars. We started bidding already and I believe someone else got the same counter offer. We started at 160 with the north strip and then were offered $256 and my friend (who the room is for is going to keep trying). Rooms are only getting pricier, as shown with a room at the Monte Carlo for $170 or 180.
  4. The Wynn and Bellagio would also be acceptable. As long as it's 5 star and on the strip.
  5. Hi there, My friends want to get a room in Vegas. They want to stay in either the Hotel or Venetian or Palazzo. Something 5* for sure. I think the regular price for a room at the Hotel is $500/night that weekend and then for Venetian it's about $259 and Palazzo is $299. My friend's budgets are probably up to $200. What do you think we should start at. There isn't any chance if we pick 5* that they'll get lower room class right?
  6. Just a thought. I think this is the weekend of the Vancouver marathon. So not only is the city busy with cruisers, regular tourists, but also tons of people coming in for the marathon. Prices will be higher for sure.
  7. Thanks for your tip. I did the same. I picked 4 stars and checked off North and South praying hard that I wouldn't get the Luxor. I split the dates because I was worried about the convention. 2/11/08-2/13/08 and then 2/13/08-2/14/08. I got Planet Hollywood for $45/night for 3 nights and after taxes it's $170.61. I'm staying there this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to put in a request for 2 beds for the future trip. Thanks!
  8. Hi, Hoping to go to Vegas on 2/11-2/14. There's a big convention happening that week. I will be checking out on Valentine's Day and prices don't seem to be high till the weekend for most places. I am only really going to go if I can get a good bargain on the hotel room. Should I book now or wait? I want a 4 star and preferably on the Strip. My only concern is staying at the Luxor. There is no shuttle from the Luxor going to the convention that I am attending. It won't kill me to take a cab but it's more convenient if I stay at one of the hotels that have a shuttle to the convention center. Any tips? My budget is around $70/night.
  9. Thanks to the message board and recent wins, I won this hotel for $50/night. I probably could have won it for $45/night but I didn't want to risk bidding too low. Regardless, this is a great deal. I can't wait to go to Vegas next weekend! Thank you betterbidding!
  10. I just followed up on those past posts. Sorry about that! In regards to our car rental, I can actually do a one way rental for our Maui trip. Hotwire doesn't do one way rentals and I checked Priceline and they offer reservations through National that are pretty cheap. We are flying into JHM airport and staying in Kaanapali at the Westin Maui. We plan in staying around Kaanapali and Lahaina for most of our honeymoon so we don't want to have a car. But we fly out of OGG. So it's cheaper to do a one way rental with parking at the hotel than get a ride for 2 people on the airport shuttle to OGG airport. So I've actually just made a reservation through National ($40 with everything in) because it's a few bucks cheaper. Thanks for all your help anyway!! Regards.
  11. Sorry for not replying with what happened. I did research for these friends but they ended up booking the Whitehall through its own website for $140. They were too nervous and confused by Priceline. I've tried to convert my friends but no one, other than my brother has tried. I just hate paying retail!!! Thanks for your help anyway.
  12. Sorry I ended up not booking anything through Hotwire/Priceline for this stay. We booked a hotel through the Hilton website and stayed at the Universal Hilton. We decided to do so because prices were so high and the Hilton was about the same and we could at least get our Hilton points. Thanks anyway!
  13. Actually I figured out a better situation for us. We are just going going to rent it in Waikiki. I found prices on Hotwire for $17/day for a full size. Pretty cheap! I wonder how much gas is. But I still have the same situation for the Maui portion of our trip. I won 4 nights at the Westin Maui in Kaanapali from the 7th of November till the 11th. I think most of the time we'll stay in Lahaina and Kaanapali. We're flying into the Kapalua airport so we don't need a car. But we are flying out of Kahalui airport and we'll need to take a shuttle. I think it's about $110 for 2 people to take an airport shuttle. I think renting a car on Hertz is about $58/day. Then we'll have to pay for parking probably. So it's worth it almost to get a car for that last day so we can drive to the airport. But I was wondering if we can rent a car and return it to a different location on Priceline or Hotwire. Sorry do I need to start a new topic?
  14. Hi, I've bid on rooms on priceline and hotwire but never for a rental car. I reserved a full size car on Enterprise for about $26/night. I was wondering what kind of rate I'd get if I booked it on priceline. I booked the car today. The other car companies (Avis, Hertz, Budget) were quoting prices in the 50s and 60s. I am looking to get the car from Nov. 2nd and returning it on the 5th. We don't need a car for the whole time so we want to return it. Will we have to return it to the airport??
  15. Just so people know why the prices are so high this particular weekend, there's a very big UFC match on the 25th at the Mandalay Bay and the weekend before the Magic/Project/Pool trade shows. It's the biggest fashion trade show in North America and brings over 150,000 delegates from all over. Brands who are exhibiting usually come in on the weekend to start setting up. It is a very very busy time in Vegas. It also happens in February and it's also very difficult to get rooms then too.
  16. Hi Everyone! I don't know how to edit my first post so I can show my win. I used the Savingsbarn link for Priceline and then I hoped for the best. So I ended up getting the Westin Maui for the rate that everyone else is getting. $125/night. My dates are November 7th-11th. Thank you everyone!!!
  17. I'm planning a trip to Maui from the 7th-11th. This will be the honeymoon portion of our trip. I'd like to stay in a resort and just be able to lounge and relax. We're coming from Honolulu and I think we're going to use points for that part of our stay. Any tips? I'd be extremely pleased if we got the Westin like everyone else is. I've looked on Expedia, Travelocity and it's coming up for about $300+. But when I check the actual Starwood website it's saying it's not available today. It was available yesterday and the day before for $300+. I tried to see if there were any big events in Maui and the Maui invitational doesn't happen till the following week and leading up to Thanksgiving. Any tips??
  18. We ended up getting a rate of $170 at the Farmer's Daughter through their website. It was actually closer to where we needed to be with the Grove next door. Thanks for all your help though.
  19. Sorry. I don't know how to delete. I was trying to move forward with this itinerary and it's actually no longer available through HOTWIRE. I tried to book but it was saying unavailable and I called the toll free phone number to check. Thanks anyway.
  20. Hi there, I'm trying to book a night for this Friday June 22 and checking Saturday June 23rd. I usually book on Priceline but I am guessing with only 2 hotels in the 4 star range it will be very hard to get on a Friday night. We would like to stay preferably in the Hollywood area b/c we have to take a cab to an event. Please help me ID this hotel: 3.5* Hollywood/West Hollywood $154/night symbols include: fitness pool restaurant business internet It says distinctive property. Do you think it's going to be LeMontrose? Or the Hyatt West Hollywood?
  21. Hi, Something has come up really last minute and I need some help. I tried to get a room through Priceline and bid $100 for 4 star in hollywood. Rejected all the way up to $125 and added different zones. I need a room for Thursday. What should I do?
  22. Hey there, I'm trying to find a friend a hotel in downtown Chicago on 4/25-4/27/07. They'd like to stay in a minimum 4 star hotel and somewhere convenient as they'll be sightseeing and wandering around Chicago. I've got these amenities for 4 star loop: fitness, restaurant, business center and hi speed internet $106/night For N. Michigan/Water Tower/Gold Coast we have: fitness, restaurant, business center, hi speed internet and it's a customer favorite and a best value it's $107/night Any ideas? I usually book on priceline myself but these are newbies who are afraid. I thought I would get them to try Hotwire at least. They've booked the Whitehall through the site a couple of weeks ago at $140/night and so they can cancel if they get a better deal.
  23. 168 South Los Robles Avenue, Pasadena, California, United States 91101 Tel: +1-626-577-1000 Fax: +1-626-584-3148
  24. Started my bids 2 nights ago at for 3 star Pasadena at $55. Got rejected. Then tried yesterday for $75. Got denied. Tried again tonight for $90. Was accepted at the Hilton Pasadena. 1 Room. Total with tax: 109.55 Was hoping for the Westin but still happy with Hilton. On Expedia.com]Expedia rooms are going for $180. I'm happy. Wasn't sure how to edit my top post to reflect my win. I don't think that the Hilton is listed on the pinned hotels for Priceline Pasadena. Thanks for all your help everyone!
