  1. Amenities Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry, Internet access Accessibility Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Room $314.00 ($157.00 per night x 2 nights x 1 room) I am very pleased that I was able to get the hotel stay for my daughter at a great price. I never thought that this hotel would be on Hotwire (heard about it on a cruise board). I had already booked a non-refundable price of $270 a night (deluxe room ) a month ago and the rooms are up to $311 a night now, $340 for the deluxe.
  2. I'm very excited to win the resort as we are doing the bio-bay that night. $90 & taxes/fees of $16.63 - Total for one night $106.63 Rate on their website was around $225. I'm expecting to pay another $15 for the resort fee. 3. Total price including tax was $139.32 per room per night. I'm very excited to win this hotel this time as we have stayed at the Crowne and the Westin Golf resort on previous stays. I apologize if I did not use the link for the bid. I remembered to use it for the search but got distracted later on. Got timed out since I was trying to check prices while actually working. Bad! Bad! Bad!
  4. I was hoping to get the Westin Diplomat Beach location to stay someplace new but I am happy with the Crown Plaza after staying there before. Starting bidding at $80 the other day but got impatient as usual. I jumped to $90 today and was still turned down. I added Coral Springs and $3 more and got the Crown. Lowest rate on website was $149.
  5. I won the Westin Diplomat on Priceline last year and the address came up as 501 Diplomat Drive. At the time I assumed it was the Beach location and told the hubby. It wasn't until months later that I was looking at the address when the light bulb went on. I could not believe I missed that key piece of info. At the time anyone who was winning the beach location had the South Ocean Drive. I would expect that you will have the beach location With respect to the Spa location I was very happy with the amenities for what I paid. It was just as nice in person. Extremely quiet, we were the only ones in the pool one afternoon. Downside was no bar service outside. We did take the shuttle and spent the afternoon at the beach location one day. I tried to stay there the year before but lost my night due to a snowstorm here at home.
  6. I have no idea what was happening last night. I just tried it here at work and had no problem seeing what was available in Cocoa Beach. Thanks for the info about the * inconsistencies. I was scratching my head last night when on one screen it was a 4* and in the detail it was a 3*. Sheal
  7. Is this link/process still working? When I paste the number in it brings me to the Tourico home page. Any idea what step I might have missed? I am trying to id a 3 1/2* hotel in Cocoa Beach, 2/19-20. The id # is 1239. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sheal
  8. Hi Again, Could you give me your suggestions for parking at/near the Westin-Jersey City? I looked at a map of the numerous parking garages and it appears there is a less expensive alternate to using the Westin but I could use a local's knowledge. :) Thanks for all of your help. Lori
  9. Yeah, I know. It sounded interesting though. I am now leaning towards the White Star Bar, it seems to have great reviews on yelp.com. I wish I could have seen the actual dinner menu as only the delivery menu would open for me. Too bad we are showing up on Friday and not Martini Tuesdays. Thanks for your advice. Sheal
  10. Lucky you. Two months ago I bid on Priceline and for some reason I thought I was on the beach, just the other day I realized I was at the resort on the golf course. I probably wouldn't have realized it until October. I won the golf resort two years ago but never got to stay there as our flight was cancelled. What goes around comes around. Enjoy your stay, now I am wishing I had gotten the resort on the beach. Sheal
  11. Nothing could compare to the dive bar I was looking for in San Juan. Place was so scary from the outside that I didn't even go in. Looked as though building might have been condemned. I'll check out the other places. Thanks so much! Sheal
  12. Netti, Did you get the Westin Resort on the beach or the Westin Golf Resort at 501 Diplomat Parkway? Would you mind posting a quick review here when you get back? I ended up with the Golf resort for an October stay but I am curious about the facilities at the main resort too.
  13. Well, in Madame Claudes defense, the place sounded like it was a favorite of the locals. :) Well, after googling Hoboken, I see that the outskirts are only 10 minutes away by car, little longer ride by rail. Most likely we would drive unless the places you suggest are a quick walk from the rail (PATH). We are looking for a casual, "pub" style restaurant. Like I said, I was just looking for some nearby, reasonable places. In-laws will not be with us this time. Did the pancakes get thumbs up from both you and the kids? We would drive there as well. I figured we could take a ride by and see. If people are sitting outside waiting in lawn chairs we will keep driving. :)
  14. Couple more details. We are driving from RI and plan to get to hotel by 11:00 AM. This is a pre-cruise stay and a last minute idea. Whole trip was! Our plans are to drop bags off and head over to Ellis Island from the NJ side. I know we will only have a limited amount of time so I'm ok with a rushed version. We have seen the statue from the ship a few times now but have never actually seen it up close. I was not planning to go into Manhatten this time. My in-laws want to go back so we might do a couple nights another time. That is why I planned to eat someplace close to the hotel. Thanks!
  15. Well, I could use some advice. :) We will be arriving at 11:00 AM, spending the afternoon visiting Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. I planned to have an early dinner figuring we would be tired from the early morning start. What are your opinions on Madame Claudes and the Iron Monkey? They both have pretty good write ups on TA. I am leaning toward the Iron Monkey as it seems more casual not to mention a great beer selection. Is on-street parking available or should I plan to proceed directly to the nearest parking garage? I also saw the Brownstone Diner mentioned. We would be eating around 9:30-10:00 AM. Is it worth going over there? Are the wait times excessively long on the weekends? Is the area safe to walk at night? I thought that if it was a nice night we could return to the hotel and then walk to dinner. When I got directions from google it mentioned possible lack of sidewalks. I appreciate your help, Sheal
  16. :) This should have been posted to the PRICELINE forum, could you please move it for me? Started bidding a few days ago at $80 (based on prices from last year). Went up to $100. Started bidding today at $98 and then rebid at $105. I could have (should have) tried bidding by $1 but I just don't have the patience of some (most) bidders. :) I'm good with the price, it is like getting free parking for the night. HOTWIRE had a room for $142 + tax, quite possibly the same place. Sheal I used the PRICELINE link I think. If I didn't, let me know.
  17. Bid $65 for 1 night stay, taxes & fees of $16.41 for a total of $81.41 Parking is an additional $25.00 per night. HOTWIRE had hotel for a total of $$133 and Hyatt direct was $213 including all taxes. Used PRICELINE link. Sheal
  18. Started bid for Resort at $100. No bites, dropped to $75 and 4*. Renaissance Fort Lauderdale 1617 SE 17th Street Fort Lauderdale Friday night Your offer $75.00 Taxes/fees $16.57 Total $91.57 I should have started at $65, but it was late. The price and location are great for our pre-cruise stay. Used the PRICELINE link on this board. Sheal P.S. Sorry, didn't post topic line in correct format. You can adjust. I would have if I could figure out how.
  19. 4* Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach Resort 2/12-2/14/09 - 2 Nights-2 Rooms - Thurs.-Sat. Price-$476.00 Total with taxes-$528.49 Amenities on first page: Resort, Near Beach, Smoke-free, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry Facilites Amenities listed on reservations also include High-speed Internet and Golf nearby Bid through the HOTWIRE link on this website (I hope). Very pleased, CP's website price was $241, and Easy click has been offering room for 144-154 this week.
  20. Hi, In a search I saw a thread regarding the number of free re-bid zones for a resort. The thread said there were 3 zones available but I counted 4. Zone 1-Cabo Roja (only has 1 & 2 Star hotels) Zone 2-Dorado (only has 2 & 3 Star hotels) Zone 3-Mayaquez (only has 2-3 Star hotels) Zone 4-Ponce (only has 1 & 2 Star hotels) Am I mistaken? What am I missing? Thanks, Sheal
  21. Started bidding early as I like to have my plans complete. Bid $80.00 for 5* Kensington, rejected. Added Bloomsbury, dropped to 4* and lowered price to $75. Rejected again, I then added Mayfair and increased price to $80. Bidding process took a while and told me to check back. Did so 10 minutes later and price was accepted. Total for 2 rooms for 2 nights with taxes amounted to $387.50. Probably could have saved some more money if I waited it out but I was willing to budget up to $100. Used the Savingsbarn link. Thanks betterbidding!
  22. I just won another night at the Marriot San Juan Resort for $100. :) I initially bid $95 through the Savingsbarn link. Priceline gave me the option to up my bid by $22 for a free re-bid. I decided to just add the Mayaquez area and raise my bid to $100. I was tempted to bid $98 but I would not have been able to wait another 72 hours!
  23. Won the Marriot on my 1st bid in the San Juan area. Total price including the taxes is 120.56. I am not sure what the resort fee will be once I get there. Someone said 10%, someone else said $15.00. Will see. I based my price on a previous poster's winning bid. Web site rate was $280. Very happy, now I can purchase airfare knowing I have a place to stay! Thanks Thereuare and everyone else for posting your wins!
  24. Hi, My eyesight has begun to blur from reading so many posts! Looking for a 3* in San Juan on 2/3/06. Is $85.00 to low a price to start? Is it to early to start bidding? I also need a room post cruise on 2/11/06, how much should I expect to pay on priceline? Regarding rebidding, if I add the Rio Grande area and increase my bid, this will still keep me in the San Juan area, right? My understanding is that the Rio Grande area only has a resort. Please let me know. Thanks so much!
