  2. There are 7 of us on this trip. Rather than getting two rooms, we wanted to stay in a condo or suite that would house all of us. I used Hotwire but was unable to search using the number of guests (it forces you to add an additional room if your party is over 4). Luckily I noticed in the amenities filter that you can narrow your search by a 1 or 2 bedroom suite. I chose the 2 bedroom option and was able to find this property with a two bedroom suite accommodating 8 people. It was easy to narrow it down to Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort by the bed sizes in the two bedroom. My only concern is that I had no way to indicate on Hotwire that there are actually 7 of us, not 4. I hope that doesn't change the price when we check in (additional fees) however we are within the number of people allowed for the room type. Overall I'm really pleased with this win. 3. Thank you better bidding for the extra $15 off Hotwire Coupon! I was able to accurately guess that Hawthorne Suites was the hotel before I booked it, based on the information given. I have not booked with HOTWIRE since 2012 but I think I will use them more frequently as it seems to be much easier than PRICELINE. Thank you again! 4. I started with a bid of $37 for zone 3. Priceline countered with $44. I declined. I re-bid $40, adding zone 1. My bid of $40 was accepted for Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort. I have to say that although the price is excellent, I would not have chosen Best Western. I know this is always a gamble and I've never been disappointed with the hotels I've won using Priceline. However, the reviews for this property are not good and they charge an additional $10 per night resort fee. This is not a resort! I'm happy that I did get the location that I wanted and the price that I wanted. I will hope for the best that this property is okay for a few days. Thanks betterbidding! :)
  5. We are traveling with friends and I want to ensure we have the same flights and hotels. We would also like to stay within our budget utilizing Priceline or Hotwire. However, I cannot pay for the hotel & flight costs of our friends' travel on my credit card. What is the best way to approach this so that we each pay for our own travel costs? It seems like in order to get the lowest prices we are going to have to gamble (by purchasing separately) and may end up on different flights, hotels, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can make this trip happen? Thanks for your input! :D
  6. Yes the rooms were smaller, but we did enjoy the location. It was great for a family and we didn't have to deal with too many drunks (I did have to call security but they handled it and it certainly wasn't their fault). Looking back on the bidding, since they gave me a counter-offer of increasing by $13 (to $68), I should have just assumed it would have been accepted at that price. I think next time I will decline and use the re-bid zones and still try to get lower. At least I know that they will probably accept at the counter-offer amount. This is too much fun! We will be doing this trip again within the next month so I will have the chance to do this over. Thanks so much for this fun website. I just wish I had found this sooner!
  7. This was my first time doing this and I was too anxious to wait for help on a strategy. Please tell me if I could have done anything different. Thanks. My preferred zone was the French Quarter (zone 3) for no more than $70 per night. Bid#1 - zones 3 & 4 for $55 - REJECTED Bid#2 - zones 3, 4, &5 for $60 - REJECTED Bid#3 - zones 3, 4, 5, & 7 for $65 - REJECTED Bid#4 - zones 3, 4, 5, 7, &8 for $70 - REJECTED Got frustrated and closed the browser. Started a whole new bid process with zone 2 (downtown) as my second preferred. All these zones are pretty close to one another so it's not too bad. Bid#1 - zones 2 & 4 for $55 - REJECTED but was given an offer. It said that I would be likely to have my bid accepted if I increased it by anywhere from $13 - $68. I tried to pop in $63 but it said I had to do at least $68. I went ahead and did $68 for zones 2 & 4 and it was accepted. This hotel seems okay I just dont know if I could have done better. If anyone has any feedback for my approach, please let me know. Thanks for your help and this wonderful site! I booked it off your PRICELINE link too. :D
