  1. While I did want the Hyatt Grand Orlando, I wanted to give a review of this hotel. I was scared to get it after seeing just a 60-something review on TripAdvisor. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It was clean and nice. We had a room with a balcony over looking the pond which was nice. They had free parking and the shuttles ran at decent intervals to Disney World. My only complaint was that the pillow in my sister's bed had some weird brown spots on it. She left it on the bed just to see if the maid would change it out. The pillow case was changed out but the next day, there were more spots. It turns out there was leak in the ceiling. We informed them as we checked out. One positive though was that they never charged me the resort fee. A nice birthday gift I would say.
  2. Sorry. I kept forgetting to come back here and update. However after posting another win, I wanted to update this one: Started at $65. Countered at $71 for $103 Zones: 3,1,9 3,1,11 3,1,12 3,1,14 - $83 3,1,18 - $84 3,1,19 - $85 3,9,11 - $86 3,9,12 - $87 3,9,14 - $88 3,9,18 - $89 3,9,19 - $90 3,11,12 - $91 3,11,14 - $92 Won at $92.
  3. Going on a quick 1-day trip with my family to Vegas. I wanted to spoil them with a really nice hotel. I found two 5-star hotels in North Strip that I narrowed down to Venetian/Palazzo. Both at about $122/night. I used the tip that self-laundry tends to be on the Venetian to distinguish them. After going back and forth, I decided that I really wanted to stay at the Venetian. I finally decided to book within the next week but woke to an email today from Hotwire for a 1-day sale. It lowered the price of both hotels to about $110/night! I couldn't book immediately as I had to go to work. Sadly though by the time, I got off, both prices had risen. The one that I assumed to be the Venetian rose to $136! As much as I would have preferred to stay there, I couldn't justify paying $30 more for a neighboring hotel where I can walk in between and where the other hotel is just as nice. So after going back and forth with my boyfriend that I was complaining over nothing, I bit the bullet and purchased the $113/night room ($9 less than w/o the coupon.) Good deal for a room that is going for $189/night for 2 queen. I'm very happy with the discount and I am sure my entire family will love this hotel. Btw, here's the full amenities: Free Parking ◾Free Internet ◾Resort ◾Suite ◾Casino ◾Fitness Center ◾Pool(s) ◾Restaurant(s) ◾Business Center ◾Internet access ◾Golf Nearby ◾Tennis Nearby ◾Spa Services ◾Accessible for the blind ◾Accessible for the deaf ◾Accessible path of travel ◾In-room accessibility ◾Accessible bathroom ◾Handicapped parking ◾Roll-in shower
  4. Since I was just looking this up last week, here's another tip. If it was the Hyatt Regency or Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Greek, then the listing would say Guest Rating: 8.0. Also Bohemian is in the Lake Buena Vista East area. My guess, therefore, would also be Sheraton.
  5. Before I could book, another hotel showed up on the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. I ended up doing a Name Your Price hotel anyways. I will make a new post on that booking.
  6. Oops I knew that I was forgetting something in the post. It's for the weekend of 01/18 through 01/20. I have seen it fluctuate from about $100/night.
  7. Can I please have some help identifying this? My guess is that it's the Hyatt Orlando Grand. Free Internet in public areas Outdoor Swimming Pool Pets Allowed Business Center Fitness Center 8* or higher This one keeps getting switched though for another hotel in the area. It doesn't have the Pets Allowed or 8* or higher so I think that I might should get on this one now or get stuck with a not-so-nice hotel. Thanks.
  8. I saw that there was a 4* hotel in this area for $77/night in Express Deals. Using the amenities, it was easy to determine that it was this hotel. I started low adding re-bid zones. Once I hit about $59, it kept giving me a counterbid for $79/night. I HOPE no one fell for this especially since the Express Deal was lower than that. Plus that's not even including the HOLIDAY coupon which dropped it to like $73/night. So I kept going and finally got it at $69/night. This was a great rate since it was retailing at $141/night. However, the very next day I saw that the express deal dropped to $75/night and the hotel retail actually dropped to $99/night. :-( If I waited a day, I might have gotten it cheaper but oh well still a great rate.
  9. I just wanted to say... Woohoo! Go Knights! I'm currently in a similar boat as you with trying to find airfare to Phoenix for this historic game so just thought I would wish you luck. And thanks for the advice thereuare.
  10. After all this time, I thought that I was doing the zone rebid correctly. I had figured it out long before I found this website and was happy to find validation in my method. However, I somehow missed the extra rebids. For instance with zones 1, 2, 3, 4. I would do: 1 1,2 1,2,3 1,2,3,4 Then right after I did this method and maxed out my tries for 24 hours, (literally only a few mins later), I came back and reread and realized that I should have done: 1 1,2 1,3 1,4 1,2,3 1,2,4 etc... That would have saved me having to wait a day. While my trip was still over a week away so I wasn't in a hurry, it still would have been great to get it over with in one sitting. Not to mention that after I waited the 1 day, the first entry that I put in ending up being the winning bid. Welp, you learn something new everyday. Thanks for the great information.
  11. Was going through old wins and realized that I never posted this one. Unfortunately, I don't remember the price I started at nor the zones that I added but just wanted to report this to anyone interested. Says I saved 55% off the rate. The hotel was fine. I stayed here with 2 girl friends. Unfortunately, we got a King bed. When I asked to change, I was initially told that I couldn't since I booked thru Priceline. Then after a little badgering, I was told that they were sold out of doubles. My battery on my phone was dead so I couldn't go online and confirm. They did so, however, say that there was a pull out chair. In the end, though, since we are all small, we were able to share the king no problem.
  12. I knew that there was an 3.5-star hotel on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $51/night and a similar hotel on HOTWIRE for $48/night. I had a feeling that it was either the Rosen Centre or the Rosen Plaza. At first, I was scared to bid out of fear of getting the Allure Resort (since I don't like the reviews thus far). Yet the Allure was close to being sold out so I thought the chances were slim. Nonetheless, I used zones 1, 5, 7, 9, 14. I also added 4 b/c we would have preferred to be downtown but highly doubted I could get a cheap room there but it was worth the try. Anyways, I started at $35 and worked my way all the way up to $42 when it was accepted. It's current rate is $145.25/night so this is a GREAT deal (71% off). I have stayed here once in the past and loved it so very happy with outcome! Final price is $103.02, which is amazing. We got 2 nights here for less than published sale price for 1 night.
  13. Thanks. Checked my reservation on Marriot website and its no longer listed as a Standard room but rather a Lakeview so I imagine that all is well.
  14. Thank you! Also possibly got another treat by calling the hotel directly. Normally the lakeview rooms are $20/night more but the lady that I spoke to put a note on my reservation for a Lakeview if any are available at not additional cost. :-)
  15. 4* Atlanta (Stone Mountain) Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort $55...5/3/13-5/5/13 My sister and brother-in-law are coming to join us on the second day of our trip. She didn't feel comfortable doing this priceline bid thing so I did it for her. I actually ended up getting it for $1.00 less than our rate. Here's my bidding sequence since I knew that $50 wasn't accepted but $55 was: Started at $51. REJECTED Added zone 2-Chamblee and upped to $52. REJECTED Added zone 10-Jonesboro and upped to $53. REJECTED. Added zone 5-Forest Park and upped to $54. ACCEPTED!!!
  16. 4* Not 4.5*. Oops First off, I LOVE the new boards and ease of adding the won hotel information. Anyways, I knew that I specifically wanted to stay at this hotel. My boyfriend like the location and pictures and we both wanted something romantic for our first anniversary getaway. It was the only 4 star in Stone Mountain so I was pretty confident that we could get it. Since I knew that Atlanta had many zones and several had categories under 4 stars, I had no whelms about starting low. I saw it on Express Deals for $68 the other day, but it was gone today. Therefore, I knew that I could get it for lower. Here's my bidding sequence: Started at $40. REJECTED Added zone 2-Chamblee and upped to $45. REJECTED Added zone 10-Jonesboro and upped to $50. REJECTED. Added zone 5-Forest Park and upped to $55. ACCEPTED!!! The retail price for this hotel is $219!! So I got it at 75% off. Can't wait to stay here. :-D
  17. From my experience, this typically matches the availability and star rating of the Rosen Shingle Creek. Plus, I haven't heard of any other 4 star hotels in this area that accept that low price. My suggestion to you is to do a Name Your Price bid. You can see a lot of people on this board, including myself, who have been able to get this hotel for $50 or less (I got it for $45).
  18. Stayed at this property before and loved it. I knew that I would be able to get a good price for it on priceline so I definitely wanted to try. Tried 40 - countered at 52 Added zone 1 - Tried 42 Added zone 14 - Tried 44 Added zone 9 - Tried 45 - Won! :D I think that there might be a conference there this weekend because it's retailing at $295/night. I check out this property every time I plan a trip to Orlando and I don't ever see it this high, not even in the summer. Even the Hotwire and Priceline Express "mystery" price for this hotel were a few bucks higher. I am overall really happy though just mad that I didn't use my $7 Email Exclusive on last Friday. <_<
  19. I am almost 100% sure that this hotel is the Rosen Shingle Creek. For two reasons, 1) The price for the days that I was looking at the hotel, $55, matches the normal price that I see for the same hotel on Hotwire and Expedia (with the details given from this site to identify the hotel.) 2) I was looking into getting this hotel for next week. I noticed the bed choice option and clicked on it for next Thursday. I saw that it only had the option for a King bed. I went back and looked at the actual listing for the Rosen Shingle and sure enough, there was no option to choose 2 Queen beds. On the official Rosen site, the queens are sold out for that day.
  20. 4.5-Star Seaworld - I-drive South Area Hotel Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind First off, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this website! I have been wishing for a while for a website like this, as I am an avid travel and deal-seeker. Sometimes, I am scared to try to the hidden hotels when I want to be more picky (e.g. I love high rises). My bf and I recently booked a trip to Orlando and both decided that we always wanted to stay at the Peabody hotel. It was on sale for $135/night on hotels.com so we booked it. Then, I stumbled across hotwire.com and saw an unpublished room for $97/night for 4.5 star. I remembered that there was only 1 4.5* hotel in that area and became curious. Then I found this site! The amenties for the room matched well with the ones on this site for the Peabody hotel. Not to mention that it was marked as normally $135avg/night for other room with the same star rating in that area. (LOL Basically only one other hotel in that area for 4.5*) I was 99.9% sure that it was the Peabody (but would have been ok with the other 4.5 star hotel mentioned on this site as a possibility). We decided to take a chance today and we were right! We saved almost $80 off using the unpublished rate. Thanks again! I will try to remember my past bookings and post.
