  1. If you please, I need help identifying a 3.5* Thousand Oaks property for 8/14 - 8/15. The amenities listed are: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Spa Services I guess while I'm at it, perhaps any insight into another 3* Thousand Oaks property for $71 with the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby This would be for the same date - tonight, actually. This need just arose for my wife and child who are on the road. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Sorry for the dearth of information. I just wanted to share my recent booking for June 21 - 23 (Yes, I used the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link) for a 4.5* West of Strip. As was clearly stated in the Pinned area, it was the Red Rock Resort for $66, as I had hoped. It listed Resort, Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet, Golf and Tennis nearby and Spa services as amenities.

  4. I think my sister-in-law stayed at the Rodeway Inn in Carlsbad and enjoyed their stay.
  5. I didn't act on this hotel, nor do I remember if I stayed downtown that night.
  6. I've read more than a couple ads that have stated using the Adding Zones strategy to ensure a more confident bid on hotels yet I don't fully understand it. I'm ultimately interested in staying in downtown San Diego on 4/24 or 4/25 for one night. Above all, I MUST guard against staying at the Sheraton Marina, yet I see the Omni and Solamar hotels going for $85 - something that caught my eye. I'd love to see an explanation that would be ideal for a third grader that applies to Downtown SD. Yes, I have a firm grasp of my mental capacity. :)
  7. Could you list the amenities listed, please? Without that this offers little help. Did you use Hotwire or Priceline?
  8. Looking for assistance in identifying a 2-Star hotel in Carlsbad for Thanksgiving night for my sister-in-law. Amenities are simply Pool and Laundry. Wow. Sounds like a winner. That's about it. I did see a 2.5 Star in Carlsbad as well. That one amenities were as follows: Airport Shuttle Smoke-Free Guest Rooms Pool Business Center High Speed Internet If anyone could help identify either/both, I'd really appreciate it. If I don't find her a hotel, she might stay with us! :)
  9. Please help identify: 3-Star hotel in Gaslamp 10/3 - 10/4 $149 Restaurant Business Center High-Speed Internet
  10. As you stated, it was the Hilton Gaslamp Quarter for $159, $185+ after taxes. Thanks. I appreciate your prophetic insight. This should help my wife and me make my birthday weekend a bit more special.
  11. I need assistance in ID'ing a 4-star Gaslamp for 5/16 - 5/17 with the following amenities: CUSTOMER FAVORITE Hotel Amenities Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby It also has 180+ TripAdvisor reviews. I was eyeing the Omni until it jumped from $159 to $230+ a week ago, but that has 240+ TripAdvisor reviews. I'm hoping this is the Solamar. Advice?
  12. Daawgon, I guess you haven't visited your parents in some time because the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego goes off from Thursday - Sunday. There is absolutely no shortage of things to do, see and hear. Check it out: www.gaslamp.org . Daawgon, your parents miss you. Most of the nicest beaches in San Diego are, in fact, not in SD proper, but in North County, from La Jolla to Carlsbad. And don't even consider Pacific Beach as it's nothing but a 16 - 24 crowd and they act their age. It where the dregs of SD County go to the beach. At night, it cleans up a bit and can be fun but it's still not a vacation destination in my eyes. The Silver Strand beach in Coronado is as close to isolation as you can get in this populous area. If you want a classy area, Coronado, La Jolla and Del Mar meet the criteria. If you want class plus fun, Carlsbad is the perfect mix. But don't discount downtown. In fact, I live in Carlsbad, and though it has more than two dozen bars/restaurants, and I'll still be getting a hotel room in downtown because it's a hoot and I don't want to drive the 35+ miles home after partying. Harbor/Shelter Islands are removed from everything and, though nice, shouldn't be considered. Old Town is just plain boring and Mission Valley is a mess. Content in Carlsbad Moot
