  1. Thanks for all hour help. This literally just popped up and I grabbed it as it is a 50% discount, ($169 on the Marriott website) the largest discount that appeared on the PRICELINE page. It seems that some of the deep discounts show up and literally disappear. I saw a possible match for the 4* Omni Royal Crescent for $121, discounted from $178, but I wasn't sure. So my final decision was down to the Monteleone for $194 per night or the Marriot for $84 a night. I chose the Marriot as 2 nights there is still less than one night at the Monteleone AND I can use the savings on a nice dinner or two. The Marriott has great 4* reviews on Tripadvisor and is in a good location. I really like Marriott properties. I'm booking Vegas in a few weeks, I will be in touch with that when I get back. Rated 8 out of 10 (or higher)guest favorite - Guaranteed Amenities: Priceline Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center
  2. Ok, thanks for the help with the Bidding Helper. It also looks like the 3.5* options for $171 and 168 on Hotwire are the Maison Du Puy and Wyndham as both are Boutique Hotels but the Wyndham has the Golf nearby. The reviews of the Doubletree are not so good, actually bad and the location is not great (just near casino, that's it). So its back to the $199 - 4* Priceline - Monteleone or the 4.5* Hotwire Sheraton for $153. I will keep you updated on my decision as Price (150-190), Location (French quarter access), and comfort (good reviews) are my 3 requirements. Anything else you see Im missing, let me know. Thanks
  3. Ok I am ready to move forward as my budget of 150-190/night in French Quarter for 1/28/16 for 2 nights looks like a possibility. Here are the updates from Priceline and Hotwire. 1. Priceline 4* $199 - 8.0 out of 10, guest favorite, Pets, Bus Center, Restaurant, Indoor/Out Pool, Fitness: Probably Monteleone 2. Priceline 3.5* $156 - 7 out of 10, Business Center, Indoor/Outdoor Pool, fitness Center: Probably Doubletree 3. Hotwire 4* $153 Business center, Fitness Center 85% recommended Great, 4.5 * collection Internet access Pet friendly Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing Any ideas??? 4. Hotwire 4* $123 80% recommended, good, 4* collection, Business center Fitness center Internet access Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Braille or raised signage Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel Not sure of this one either. Any ideas? I am more comfortable in the $150 range so Id like to identify the Hotwire property that's $153 Thanks Again.
  4. Would you also recommend I try the Bidding process as I have never used PRICELINE EXPRESS, I've only Bid on the Price.line site? What would you recommend I start the bidding at? # zones, etc. Thanks
  5. I'm looking at the amenities list on HOTWIRE. They all appear to be very similar in the 4.5* and 4* properties. Right now I see $194 for 4 star PRICELINE EXPRESS $170 for 4.5* Hotlwire $158 for 4* Hot.wire Also, Royal Sonesta like a nice property too. Pet friendly seems like an amenity that not all properties have. At least the Hyatt does not have this.
  6. I am just curious what Hotwire has to offer? I am going to book very soon, just not this moment. I like to comparison shop so I like to have at least 2 or 3 options to choose from. Sorry to be a bother, but any idea what the Amenities above under Hotwire tell me which Hotel it is? I just got back from a trip and need a few days to decompress. Thanks
  7. 4.5* $170/Night FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower 4* $171/Night FULL AMENITIES: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Any guesses? 4.5* is less expensive but that may not mean a lot. I could do 4 or 4.5*. Just want the best, most convenient property. Thanks
  8. Any ideas? Looking for a nice Hotel within walking distance of the action of the French Quarter. Priceline Express had a deal for $193 for a 4*(Monteleone maybe), so this is comparable. Id love the Hyatt but the website said its soldout. 85% recommended. Great! Amenities Business center | Fitness center | Internet access | Pet friendly | Pool(s) | Restaurant(s) | Smoke-free rooms Tripadvisor 4 out of 5
  9. Its a nice deal if that is the Hotel as it charges $289 on its website. Thanks I will let you know what I do soon
  10. Any Suggestions? Is that a nice Hotel? Is it close to all the action? Should I try the bidding process to see if I can improve on my rate? Whatya think?
  11. I ended up Booking the Christiania (Bridge Street Lodge) because its the closest rooms to the Ski Lifts. I booked mostly on my own with the help of a realtor. Its in the center of the Village too. The rate was $250/night for a studio.
  12. I haven't done the bidding process yet and I have never been to New Orleans. I want to stay within walking distance of Bourbon Street. I am going next month on Jan 28th for 2 nights (leaving on the 30th). If I get a decent Express deal, I may not bother with bidding. 4* Pets Business Center Restaurant Indoor/Outdoor Pool Thanks Again
  13. Yes, I am seeing the same amenities. It probably is Tivoli or Manor Vail, both good properties, but still a little too expensive for my blood. I am trying to stay at 350/night but If I lower star rating, the properties are all farther away, which is not to my liking. I am going to keep checking. And I am using the BiddingHelper.com above for all my requests.
  14. I AM having trouble identifying the hotels as they are all very similar. I am trying to get something close to the lifts (slopeside or short walk) and in the village. I would prefer the following properties if possible: Austria House Lodge at Vail Manor Vail Tivoli I am willing to use Hotwire and/or Priceline PRICELINE EXPRESS: 255/night •Indoor or Outdoor Pool •Restaurant •Fitness Center HOTWIRE: 474/night Free Internet, Fitness Center, Business Center I haven't tried to bid yet, any idea on trying to get the above properties?
  15. You will be happy you got this Hotel. I have stayed there twice in the last year. Great location, nice rooms, friendly staff. I have paid as little as $149 in the off season up to $220 during the Holidays. Priceline hooked me up twice and I am grateful.
  16. Wow, I am excited. They have been rejecting me the past week for bids up to $225 for 3.5* and $210 for 3*. I have been watching the 3* and 3.5* and the prices haven't budged. They even went up on the express deals. I noticed the Holliday Inn 3* was steady at $267 and the SHeraton 3.5* was at $239 (which I was planning on booking). Anyway, I noticed the MArriot Fish Wharf lowered their price from 319 to 269 and the Express Deals had one offer, a 3.5* for $201. SO I figured if Bidding failed I had the Express Deals as a Backup and chances are it was the MArriot. ANyway I used your strategy, which for a 3.5* gives you many Bids vs 3* which gives you only 2 Bids. I started at $169, they countered with $229, I bumped it up a few times, and settled on $184 vs $269 at the Marriott Website. Awesome, Thanks Guys Super Excited!!!
  17. Very excited dude. Just won a bid for 3.5* Marriot Fishermans Wharf for $184 for July 5th. I noticed the prices went down a bit, ie. $269 at the MArriot and $239 at the SHeraton. ALso, express Deals had ONE Deal for $201 for a 3.5* at the WHarf. I started my bidding at 169, they countered with an offer of $219, I upped a few times and eventually won for $184. They rejected up to $225 the last few days, so in my case I was lucky they lowered the price. I am the Courtyard the following 2 nights at $189, which is around the corner and I can get the points for Marriot stays. I will post in the WIN section, thanks GUYS!
  18. The 1st night seems to be a night Priceline won't budge. I bidded 3* up to 209 and rejected, just for one night. I had to book the last two nights direct through PRICELINE link at Marriot Courtyard for $189/night. I couldn't wait as trip is approaching and rooms are filling up./ The cheapest 3* is the Sheraton for $239 a night and the Holiday Inn for $246, and am surprised Priceline won't accept $209. I am assuming they prefer to book multiple nights as opposed to one night. I am going to try one more time, if fail, I will book Sheraton direct.
  19. You are probably right about staying in the same hotel, but that express rate seems to be on again off again, and right now its not available.
  20. I meant, the 1st night is the most expensive, so I think IM going to bid on the 1st night, 3* and book the Marriott courtyard for the next 2 nights at $189/night. Thoughts
  21. Another Idea. 3.5* for the first 2 nights, 3* for the last night, so two separate bids, since that last night is the expensive one.
  22. Agreed. I believe the 3* should be had between the range you suggested, and I can use the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal as a backup as they keep changing the price from $187 to $222 and back to $187. The 3.5 star seems a longshot right now.
  23. I tried 3* at the wharf for 155 and 165. The first bid of 155, they responded back and said increase to 42 bux to 197 and I would have good chances, I declined and bid 165 and was rejected. My 3.5* bids were rejected up to $210.
  24. If I got rejected up to $215 2 days ago on 3.5*, I am assuming I have to start above that price, just like always, right?
  25. The PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal is back to $187 for 3* at the Wharf, is that a good deal, or should I do some bidding up to $150/night for 3* Their 3.5* is still $252 HOTWIRE Hotdeals to compare are : 3* $194 3.5* $216
