  1. thanks....I will let you know what I decide in the end. I may wait a little as rates may drop.
  2. Thanks for the reply Aaron. I thought of a strategy to guarantee a 2 queen room. Instead of putting 2 adults and 2 kids, I put 4 adults, and I get the same price for both Hyatt Regency DCA ($81) and Hyatt Centric ($98). Will putting 4 adults guarantee me the 2 queen room?
  3. Thanks for the reply. After using the bidding helper, yes it's the same hotel I'm talking about...thanks. I was also considering this: 4 star HOTWIRE in Arlington 7/22-23 2 adults, 2 children for $98 FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Do you think this is the Hyatt Centric or could be something else?
  4. July 22 to 23. Crystal City, 3.5*, 2 adults 2 children...price is $81. Amenities Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Airport shuttle Boutique hotel Business center Fitness center Pet friendly Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms I think its the Hyatt Regency Crystal City...and the biggest proof I have is the tripadvisor reviews...its showing 2129 reviews. When I search for the Hyatt regency, it has 2129 reviews with tripadvisor...doesn't that mean its the Hyatt Regency 100%? Also I noticed the hotel has both king and 2 queen rooms for SAME PRICE. Does the fact that I put 2 adults and 2 children guarantee me a 2 queen room? How can 4 people sleep in a 1 king room?
  5. Oh Im sorry, I meant I'll get it through HOTWIRE, not PRICELINE. So I did go ahead and book the deal with hotwire for $82 a night. Total paid is $313. Turned out to be the Hilton like we guessed. Now I just have to send email to Hilton and request the double queen room. Thanks for all your help!
  6. Ok I see it now through BiddingHelper.com.com I think its a better option than PRICELINE. Thanks My kids are 7 and 2. So a sofa bed would be alright, but 2 queens would be much better. If I do end up bidding, it will be through HOTWIRE.
  7. I only see an offer on hotwire for $85 with that specs. Did the offer get more expensive or am I doing something wrong? We are a family of 4, I have 2 kids so I need 2 beds, and 1 king wouldn't be enough I prefer this zone because I personally like Hilton hotels, and I enjoy this area. Do you think there is a better offer in a nearby area with double queen? So if I bet and get the Hilton, I will pay about $300, which is pretty good for 3 nights based on the high prices of those dates. My other best option if I don't bet is to book the Kimpton Glover Park Hotel, which is close to the Hilton, and its a 4 star hotel, double queen room, Free valet parking offer (most hotels are $50 per night!), and with Orbitz coupon I can get 15% discount, bringing total to $370, and with my $40 orbucks, brings down to $320. So its either the Hilton for $300 thru bidding, and that excludes parking ($150 for 3 night parking) Or the Kimpton Glover through Orbucks, $320 with valet. I personally think Hilton is alot better, but since The Kimpton double queen is guaranteed and parking is included, isnt it a better deal than bidding? Please tell me which you would pick?
  8. Thank you for the reply. My preference is the double queen, not the king. The problem with the 4.5 star option is that the double queen bed option is more expensive...its $104 per night, and I need that type of room, while with the Hilton the double queen and king are the same price. EDIT TO ADD: OK, may have found a solution for you (or at least lower the risks a bit)... Search HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children and find the following offer: 4* Dupont North for $82.00 Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ==> best guess for this one is the Washington Hilton Using the 'regular' side of HOTWIRE and searching this property for 2adults/2children you can see HERE that all available rooms are 2 bedded and the one King rooms 'exceed max guests'. So while no room configuration is guaranteed in this situation, i think it increases your chances of getting a room with 2 beds. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed (or if you go for the option presented above).
  9. I did not make a purchase yet. However I am looking at dates 8-29 to September 1 (3 nights) at Dupont Circle - Woodley Park area with Priceline Express Deals. For a 4 star hotel, it is showing it for $80 a night. And I am sure that is the Hilton The Hilton has both King and double Queen rooms for same price. So If I get the King, can I request change or they will not allow that?
  10. If I used PRICELINE EXPRESS deals and got the Hilton Washington, and PRICELINE gives the king room. Since the double queen room is same price and is available, can I directly ask Hilton to give me double queen instead?
  11. I bid 3.5 star Fisherman's wharf and finally got accepted at $173 and got the Marriot. Even though I preferred Union Square but it was just way too expensive, and Fisherman's wharf is not bad I guess. Hotels.com and PRICELINE were showing retail price at $279, so I guess $173 is not bad Thanks for your help.
  12. ok i tired 3.5 star $170 still NO good!!! im still thinking about the san mateo 4 star for $105
  13. no it doesnt mention any amenities. it just says 4 Star Hotel in San Mateo Area for $105/night ya i guess i could be something besides the marriot. So I squeezed myself and tried $170 for 4 star union square and financial district but still NO luck. Man Im not sure why its so expensive....even Times Square in NY is cheaper than Union Square. Should I wait and try $170 again tomorrow or just try 3.5 and 3 star?
  14. ok...i went up to $160 and got rejected...than realized i cant go over $160..lol sorry but i found a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal on priceline...a 4 star hotel in san mateo area for $105!!! <dead link removed> even tho i dont want that area, but its worth sleeping there for that price. i checked on priceline for 4 star hotels in san mateo...it showed only 1....and thats the Marriot and price is $279...so is that express deal the Marriot for sure? how coud they be offering it for only $105 if its price is $279? 2nd q...is san mateo a good safe place o stay?
  15. ok i want to try 4 star union square or financial district or soma, max $180
  16. My max bid is $180....I also might consider a 3.5 star since 4 stars are so expensive this day.
  17. I want to bid on a hotel in San Francisco for one night, August 15 I want a 4 star hotel in either Fishermans wharf or financial district or Union Square or something close to that area. I noticed that there 6 zones in San Francisco that dont have a 4 star hotel, so I can rebid 6 times. At what price should I start bidding?

I got a counter bid for $45!!! for mid-size car thats too expensive for me. I think ill wait more and then check for last minute deals. Budget is showing for $280 with a coupon i found online. But still hoping for cheaper.
  21. yes i want a one way rental pick up at lax and drop off at ont airport i checked many other dates, unfortunately my dates are the highest priced not sure why its giving me such a high price for those days my max that im willing to pay is $230 for a midsize car for the total trip....so maybe that would be $27 or $28 per day
