Returned last week from 8 nights at Marriott Foggy bottom, Great older hotel, friendly, helpful, upbeat staff, immaculate housekeeping, great neighborhood ( mostly residential ) l this priceline ( bargain) was truly a pleasure.

I booked a room through priceline. The reservation can be cancelled up until October. My question is Do I need to cancel through both priceline and the hotel? I have since booked through Priceline's 'name your own price'. I found a much better fit for me.

I have secured great hotel rooms all over the US and in Australia with Name Your Own Price through Priceline. Only once Have I felt any discomfort or feelings of discrimination due to using Priceline. Occasionally I run into a front desk person who doesn't totally understand the concept, but using patience and a friendly attitude I have ALWAYS had great overall experiences. I always bid for 3+ stars, and find the service tends to be friendlier and better informed. I just love the great feeling I get when staying in a great hotel for a nominal price.

oops The Marriott is Foggy bottom Georgetown area. I had tried for 3 areas Dupont circle, Foggy Bottom, and White House.I will be there October 10 through October 18, 2012 ;)

3 1/2 * Washington, Foggy Bottom / Dupont Circle area, Marriott, $70.00 per night for 8 nights Great old hotel, no complimentary breakfast but everything else I look for when choosing a hotel. I tried 5 times over 1 week I actually narrowed my search after carefully reading about neighborhoods etc. but also lowered my "star" rating...asked for, and received, 3 1/2 stars Honestly I am astonished...... at this point I was really just testing the waters, my stay is not until October. I did take the trip insurance, to cover illness etc. I have always found great big city hotels at wonderful prices with priceline.
