  1. I got a pretty good deal $51/night queen, non-smoking, complimentary breakfast, parking, kitchenette. The room is pretty nice...compared to where I stayed last week. The hotel rooms were remodeled 2011. Flat screen tv, bed is pretty good, new carpet. Very clean. Tried to book it for add'l nights, but price is up to $71 on hotwire
  2. After doing a little research, I have found a little false advertising with Hotwire. It states on the red square that the hotel on other sites is advertised @$99. I checked several sites...kayak, hotels.com, Travelocity, Expedia, priceline, Orbitz, and RAMADA. It is not priced any higher than $90 on any one of those sites. And even on the RAMADA site it is advertised @$76. I intend on calling and finding out about this discrepancy. Hotel stay is for one night 5/14-5/15/2012
  3. I bid the 2.5* for Canton - Massillon on Hotwire thinking I would get the Comfort Inn Hall of Fame, and I ended up with the Ramada Canton. I only booked 1 night as I wasn't sure where I would end up. I'm not sure if I used the links from the site, as I was searching many sites and windows at the time. Just wanted to post so you could update the hotel list for Hotwire
  4. Good idea, I didn't use PRICELINE for this stay, I decided to stay an a "Value Place"...Bad move on my part! After one night I wish I was back at the McKinley Grand. I was bidding on Cuyahoga Falls because I think I want to live there. I'm going to try again this week. But maybe only for a night or two....and then see how it goes. Thanks for the tips. I will post what happens.
  5. I bid $52 on 2.5* and 3* for Akron South & Akron - Cuyahoga for 4 nights(5/7-5/11)...and didn't get it. Still learining the priceline rules. I will try again today for around $55. I don't know if I will get it or not. If not, I will stay at Value Place in North Canton for 199/wk. I may be doing this for a few more weeks until I can find an apartment.
  6. I am having to stay in a hotel until I can find an apartment for relocation from Columbus. Well...it's certainly not a 3*!! Positives were the staff, and my bed was extremely comfortable. The area is downtown...which is struggling, not a very safe area in the evening. No continental breakfast as they have a restaurant. There is also no refrigerator, since I'm staying M-F it would be nice to keep some things overnight. Parking is an additional $8.00/day so that needs to be taken into consideration. This hotel has an old musty smell to it. That was hard for me to get over. Overall, my room was fairly clean even though the carpet was pretty worn. And the TV was ancient. I have to book again for next week and really don't want to end up here again. Like I said I bid a 2.5* and the McKinley Grand (which is supposedly a 3*) took it. I would rate the McKinley Grand a 2* max!
  7. First timer. I bid on a 2.5* realizing that I should get one of the two 2.5's posted. They upgraded me to a 3* McKinley Grand...which I will let you know if it lives up to its rating. Online reviews are not that great. I don't think it's a 3*. Marriott is no longer associated with it. I really would've rather been closer to the airport where the 2.5*'s are. Parking is an additional $8.00/day. And no complimentary breakfast. Didn't realize I was supposed to use the link from this site, as I wasn't signed up yet. My sister told me about this site. I have to book another hotel next week in the same area...we will see what happens. I will use the links from this site.
