Thanks for the great service. I am thinking it could be: Caribe Royale Resorts Suites and Villas In a HOTWIRE search, if you put 2 adults and 2 children and book, can they still give you 1 king bed? Thanks.
  7. Started at $60 over the holiday weekend, and won first try. Used your PRICELINE links. Thanks for your service. Watchtime
  8. 2.5-star Hotel in Grand Forks This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Parking Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Also, to confirm, if we put 2 adults and 2 kids, they will give us two beds? Thanks for your help.
  9. From one hotel that I called, the local reservation agent said there is some fashion event going on (FIT), and all of Manhattan is filled up. This was also probably the reason our flights were also difficult to book.
  10. We do have a back-up. Thanks for making sure. It is the Dream Downtown (Chelsea), 4.5* for $325. Regular rate around 475 for Bronze King. This is way over budget, and the hotel is not really our style, but it was the only decent place I could find. I won't split. Is it even worth the time to try again? I figured within 24 hours people might start canceling. Priceline is only showing three 3.5* available and twenty 4* at their normal listing price.
  11. 3 days prior to check-in, tried up to $275 for 4*. Nothing. 2 days prior to check-in, tried up to $270 for 3.5*. Nothing. Looking at priceline results, there are only 3 choices to choose from if paying full price for 3.5*. This is probably the reason that during the 3.5* bidding, the "average medium price" was showing $1999 at times, and $579 at others. I noticed that the Hotel Indigo was now available for our dates, it wasn't when the other bidder first one it, but it popped in again today. I was hoping to get that, but no luck. (Update - I just called the Hotel Indigo to see if they had rooms and they do not.) 1) Any suggestions? I'll try one more time on Tuesday (day before check-in) and see what happens. 2) FYI -- In the bidding table you provided for 3.5*, there were duplicates. The $180-$190 range has the same starting zones as the $195-$205 range.
  12. I upped the max to $240, started by adding $20 to each bid. No luck. Used your PRICELINE links. By the way, the Priceline Maps tools is real handy. We are going to now drop the star level down to 3.5*. Zones: TS, MTW, UWS, Chelsea, ESB, and add MSG Any other red flags besides the Hudson Hotel (CPS) and the walk from MTE at 3.5*? Would you be able to put together a bidding chart? It is real helpful to follow. Thank you in advance.
  13. I think we'll try one more time at 4* but go up to $230. If we are not successful, then drop down to a 3.5* (eliminate CPS because of the Hudson Hotel) Thanks. I'll keep the post updated.
  14. I went through the complete list today, up to $220 with no luck. This is 9 days before our arrival. Any suggestions? Would it be better to wait, if so when? A good tip: I set one of my default browser tabs to this thread, so it was easy to use your links every time I opened the browser. Thanks for your help.
  15. We have friends that live in Upper West Side and they suggested the zones. Getting 4* hotel for the best price takes precedence to location, so yes, we would be open to ESB. I tried all the options without Chelsea, then went back and tried with it. Thanks for your service, and I use your links - always!
  16. 4* Check In: Wednesday, 4/25 Check Out: Saturday, 4/28 (3 nights) Two (2) Rooms each night Top Locations: Time Square, Central Park South, Midtown West, Upper West Side Acceptable Location: Chelsea Hoping for a max bid of $220 per room, before taxes. A. Looking for two rooms, would it be better to use HOTWIRE? B. I have not had any success. Is $220 not realistic? I understand the bidding process and free bids, thanks to your forum. I always use your PRICELINE links. Thank you.
