  1. Hi, I need help on this one I dont think its the Clarion(only listed 2.5*), what do you think? Baymont? Amenities Free Parking, Internet, Breakfast Pet friendly, pool, fitness center pool(s), business center, self serve laundry $58 , 80% hotwire approval, 4 star on Tripadvisor One night 6/22/14
  2. Yeah, The first night I stayed in the farrrrrrrrr tower with a room overlooking the airport. Room was nice, but the ambulances go down that road and are loud. The next night I asked to be moved and they gave me a spectacular view of the strip. Low cost food options are tight there, so check out NYNY, MGM and Monte Carlo for casual dining.. For fine dining Biscayne at the Trop is EXCELLENT and tix4tonight often has 'half off' coupons. fyi: For anyone interested, I just got back from the Luxor that I won on Priceline. I thought Trop was a better room, but Luxor was good enough & had much better food choices. The Irish Pub in Mandalay Shoppes is great! The agent checking me out couldnt believe what a low price I received, so I guess there aren't too many of us getting these deals
  3. The prepaid rate on their website is $198, so you might contact PRICELINE(if a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal) as they should refund the overage. Reviews look fine, Clarions are better in Europe than here, but the location for a tourist is a bit out of the way. Start studying the Paris metro map, as you are close to the St Lazare metro station to get around
  4. I think its the Hilton maybe the Marriot but I feel its not the Prince
  5. followup I tried several times to bid for airfare for several different flights, and on a few occasions(like the first) I was countered WITHOUT an invitation to rebid. When I subsequently reentered to bid and was rejected I was NOT given another opportunity to accept the earlier counter offer. I was even rebid the counter a10 min later and was denied On a positive note I once booked with the Priceline LISTED airfare for a flight and that afternoon that flight dropped by $100. Priceline gave me the LOWER price
  6. $20 trick is when you tuck a $20 bill between your id and CC while asking if there are any complimentary upgraded rooms available See this thread: Las Vegas $20 Trick
  7. Ive never really developed a good strategy for airfare rebids. Looking over the tips, I guess I can rebid for airfare by starting all over again and entering a city or minor airport in the area? Is that right? I have been counteroffered without a screen to rebid, so do I just start all over again? Thank You
  8. thereuare is correct, there is no way to avoid a property when bidding. Even if you know what the Express Deal property is, it doesnt mean that will be the property won when bidding
  9. (imo)The only true 4.5 star beachfront hotel in that zone is the Grand Wailea which is a very nice hotel, but that doesnt mean it has to be the GW. I think another possibility is the Fairmont. Anyways, Ive seen that property come up in my searches and have always thought it was the Grand Wailea and at $216(the price I see now with the beachfront amenity) is the lowest Ive ever seen it
  10. PRICELINE EXPRESS is like HOTWIRE, you take the price offered. Currently there is a 10% off code (as you see on this website Bigcity6) so that $134 would be 121 net. As long as you choose an amenity set with a casino, you know its not Trump. Trump appears to be the $92 offer on PRICELINE EXPRESS for your dates, so don't choose that one
  11. Since Trump doesnt have a casino, yes btw- PRICELINE is for bidding and HOTWIRE you just take that price. If you like Wynn(I do), its $143 on your dates on their website ----use code WEB7248
  12. Yellowdog, Ive seen this property pop up on my searches before, 3.5* N without a Casino amenity and a 4.0 TA rating, & have guessed its the Hilton Suites on the Strip(the one near Circus Circus). Ive shyed away from it because I never want to be that far away from the Center or South so I cant tell you for sure who it is
  13. Skip the Stratosphere for sure, another option Book Sun/Mon at the 4* North $93(Mirage?) & see if they let you add Sat if not, spend the Saturday night at the 2* NEAR South of strip(100% approval) for $83(includes breakfast) and be at your 4* pool by noon. If your 2* is the Baymont Inn? you are close to the strip
  14. There is a 10% off coupon for PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals 'Bigcity 6' so you might get a S Strip 3* (Excalibur?) for about 39
  15. Bizarre I saw it too for $39, but when I clicked on the link it took me to a 'West of Strip' hotel. Now the 4 star South Strip is $79
  16. If you want value on the Strip and avoid those hotels, then bid on a 4 star NORTH strip on Priceline. The priceline Express deal is $60. A $55ish bid should get it worse case scenerio you end up with Treasure Island with a $28 resort fee(most strip hotels have resort fees)
  17. I would say thats the Kapalua Villas, which can be problematic. There are Golf, Ridge and Bay Villas. The Bay Villas are worth that price(over $300 if you include resort fee), but not the Golf. I see the 4 * Makena is available with 'zero reosrt fee' for $202...sounds like the Makena Golf Resort to me Ive stayed at both properties and like the Kapalua area better. Also there have been a series of shark attacks in the south with several beaches closed recently so thats another plus for Kapalua
