  1. Tried $70 for 9/17-9/19; also tried $75 for just 9/17-9/18/08. All failed. Usually Hilton Woodland Hills can be had at close to this price.
  2. I like the Woodland Hills Hilton. Seems like sometimes one can get it for $70 or $75, and sometimes not. I just bid $70 / night and got it.
  3. This hotel was not listed on the BetterBidding Hotwire hotel list at the time. Hotel Zico 200 East El Camino Real Mountain View, California 94040 (650) 969-8200 Hotel rate per night: $69.00 Nights: 1 Rooms: 1 Subtotal: $69.00 Tax recovery charges and fees: $12.75 Total price: $81.75
  4. I have previously gotten the Hilton Woodland Hills for $75, but that usually has involved a Fri, Sat, or Sun night stayover. I tried $70, $75 for 8/12-8/15, and then $80 for 8/12-8/14.
  5. Bid $75 3* Warner Center-Woodland Hills and got the Woodland Hills Hilton. Nice place. Internet is $10 additional and parking is something close to $14 self and $18 valet. I was able to add 3 more nights at the same price, 8/10-8/12/08. When adding nights, you have to check out and then check in again (but they will give you the same room if available).
  6. Tried $55 for San Jose, then $60 with Palo Alto, then $65 with re-bid. Wyndham hotel is near airport, which is what I wanted. Parking is free while there, but internet access costs about $10. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $65.00 Subtotal: $65.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.05 Total Charges*: $80.05
  7. I don't really like this hotel; some of the rooms are very old and small, with worn furniture. If you are there through PRICELINE, they do not include breakfast. I spoke with someone else who got this hotel for $60 (compared to my $72) per night. They had stayed there and indicated that the $20 upgrade to the towers was worth it - quieter and perhaps nicer rooms. It's too bad that this was an "upgrade". I much prefer the 2 1/2 * to this "3 *".
  8. Tried lots of things before getting this. Wanted 2 nights 7/21-7/22/08 in Sunnyvale- Santa Clara Failed with 4* up to $92 / night. Failed with 2 1/2* up to $65 for 7/21/08, and up to $68 for 7/22/08 Bid $72 for 1 night (7/21/08). Upgraded to 3 * Biltmore. Priceline offered to extend my stay but then could not do it. Total cost with fees: $87.91
  9. bids up to $58 failed. $60 worked. Price at Hilton website was $249 / night, so $60 seems fair....
  10. Success at $60! $60 seems like the magic number for 3*. SEA-TAC Airport Hilton.
  11. Tried $70. Failed. Tried $75. Success! Got 3 nights at Hilton Woodland Hills. Checked the Hilton website: the cost is $219/night. I've stayed here before: nice place, although they charge for internet, parking, and breakfast, so it is not as cheap as some options.
  12. Lots of re-bid opportunities for SEA-TAC airport 3* but none worked for me on this try. Tried $45, $48, $50, $52, $55, AND $58 (subject line got truncated). Wanted airport. 1 night only. Bidding done on Sunday July 6th. Someone else mentioned difficulty winning with their Seattle bidding; I wonder if Priceline inventory needs manual intervention to be replenished, so maybe I'll do better to try again in 24 hours.
  13. Near the water, just south of the airport. Note: overnight parking is something like $18 / night. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.88 Total Charges*: $75.88
  14. I like this place: free parking, free internet, free breakfast. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $46.00 Subtotal: $92.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.57 Total Charges*: $110.57
  15. bid $42 for 3* SFO - rejected re-bid $44 - rejected re-bid $46 - rejected
  16. Continued failures for 6/11-6/12/08, and then SUCCESS. Failures: 3* $70 for LAX 2 1/2 * $58 for LAX 2 1/2 * $64 for LAX and Redondo. Decided to add Culver City, based on comment above... Bid: 2 1/2 * $62 for LAX and Redondo and Culver City.... ACCEPTED! Got upgraded to 3* "Radisson Hotel Los Angeles Westside". I called: they do airport pickup / drop-off, but one has to call for them to pick-up; they do not circle the airport. Parking is $14 I think; internet access is included.
  17. Added Redondo Beach to previous bid (was LAX 2 1/2*) for 6/11/08, 1 night, for $50 - still failed.
  18. Tried $64, A$66 for 3* LAX for 6/11/08, 1 night - failed. Also $48, $52 for 2 1/2* LAX for 6/11/08 - failed.
  19. Tried $60, 62, 64 - all failed (3* for LAX) Also failed at $70 for 4* LAX
  20. tried $50, $55, $60 for 6/12/08 for 4* Sunnyvale. All failed.
  21. Tried $56 and $58. Both failed. Only wanted LAX 3*. Will try again tomorrow.
