  1. I guess you snooze you loose, that offering is now gone from Hotwire. Thank you anyways for the advice.
  2. I used your HOTWIRE link to start my search and here is what they are showing. 3.5 stars -Smoke Free Rooms -Fitness Center -Restaurant -Business Center -High Speed Internet Access One night: Check in Sat 9/3/11. Check out Sun 9/4/11 $99
  3. I'm also looking at the EXACT same amentities for a stay for tonight. Trying to book a last minute Valentine's Day night. It shows: Near Beach, No smoking, fitness, swimming, restaraunt, business, and internet Price is $122 I would be over the moon if this was the Viceroy, but I fear it might be the Sheraton Delfina. I will wait a few hours to see if I get any replies, otherwise I might just gamble and book it. Don't worry I Promise to use your HOTWIRE link :) Thanks in advance ...
  4. Just returned from La Quinta... they also charged us the $25 resort fee. I guess they have wised up. It was 109 degrees there, but we had a great relaxing time.
  5. I was inspired by the other poster who got La Quinta Resort for $60 a night. Even tho I followed the same bidding strategy I didn't win my bid earlier this week. A few days later I did the same bidding strategy but increased my last bid to $64. Not sure why I chose that number, but it worked! I'm very excited since last year we stayed here and paid ALOT more than $64 night!! I will cross my fingers that we don't get charged the resort fee. Of course I used the link on SavingsBarn.com ... All info as follows: La Quinta Resort And Club Rancho Mirage-Indian Wells-Palm Desert 49-499 Eisenhower Drive La Quinta, California 92253 760-564-4111 Check-In Date: Sat, Jul 14, 2007 / After 04:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sun, Jul 15, 2007 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $64.00 Subtotal: $64.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.19 Total Charges*: $79.19 Happy with your hotel? 6. I just tried your exact bidding stratgey and it didn't work for me. :) I was trying to get only 1 night 7/14/07-7/15/07. Maybe I'll try again next week.
  7. I just booked a vacation package on HOTWIRE so I knew this was the hotel before paying. But I thought I would share my win in case it helps anyone out in the future. I'll be there 11/23-11/28. 4.5 Stars Resort Beachfront Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Spa Services
  8. Hi there, I wanted to know is it just a 50/50 chance of getting the Doubletree vs. The Hyatt? I would prefer the Hyatt but would be OK if I won the Doubletree. I have a wedding that weekend. Well the wedding is Friday night. And she is having a bus pick us up from either the Hyatt, Doubletree or Candlewood Suites. Those are her preferred hotels and she has discounts for them as follows: Hyatt: $185 Doubletree: $149 Candlewood Suites: $139 So I want to know if I can do better than these prices? When I looked on Hotwire the Hyatt was going for $308 per night. Any bidding strategy help would be appreciated. Or do I just book thru the wedding discount?
  9. I just found out this week I had to be in Chicago this weekend. Checked on hotwire and a 4 * was going for $170 per night. I put my bid in on Priceline on Monday for $95 and got rejected. Then I re-bidded for $105 got rejected again. This morning after looking at Travelzoo and realizing there were no hot deals, I went back on Priceline and bidded $111 per night and WON! Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area 151 East Wacker Drive Chicago, Illinois 60601 Hyatt Regency Chicago Your Offer Price: $111.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $333.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $61.81 Total Charges: $394.81
  10. Following up on my rental. POSITIVE: I got a free upgrade to a mid-size since they were out of compact there. NEGATIVE: The bad part was I was charged an additional $10 when I returned the car. They said it was a mandatory airport fee?
  11. Decided not to book hotel room. going to fly into Tampa the day of our cruise and cab it over to the port and hop on the ship. We figure the money we save with the hotel room we can drink onboard :) Now I'm crossing my fingers the flight doesn't get delayed or anything.
  12. I booked this thru Hotwire today. ********** Hertz Car Type: Economy car with unlimited mileage. Pick-up: Thu, Jan 26, 2006, 12:00PM Drop-off: Sun, Jan 29, 2006, 12:00PM 3 day(s) @ $14.95 per day $44.85 Taxes and fees: $18.61 Car Subtotal $63.46 Total Price $63.46 Includes all taxes and fees. Prices are in $USD
  13. OK another question for those familiar with Tampa. This hotel room is for the night before my cruise leaves ... is the Busch Garden area fairly close to the port? We will not have a rental car so we will need to shuttle or cab it from our hotel to the port? Thanks all ...
  14. I wanted to close out this thread. I didn't end up booking the room thru hotwire. I ended up staying the 1 night with friends instead.
  15. I thought I posted on the site that I got the Knickerbocker Millenium for my chicago stay? I ended up using priceline instead of hotwire? Should I mention that on that thread?
  16. Hi there: I was looking for a hotel in Tampa for 1 night 01/20/05. Here is what hotwire gave me: 3 stars Busch Gardens Area Hotel Amentities: Suite, Pool Price is going for $55/night. Is this the holiday Inn? Thank you :)
  17. Hi: I tried your formula to try to get a 4* downtown la for tonite. maybe its because it is Halloween weekend? But i got rejected at $55 also.
  18. ok here is my experience. My 1st time booking on Priceline. I usually use hotwire. But I looked on hotwire and the 4* rooms were going for $95 a night. Thought I would give it a shot on Priceline. I linked from SavingsBarn.com :-) I like to return the favor. I just bidded $60 for a 4* (8/28-8/31) Got rejected. Then they said if I increased my bid by $17 I could rebid again. So I did. And I got Mill Knickerbocker, read the reviews on TripAdvisor and they don't look so hot. But $77 a night is better than $95. I was a total newbie. Maybe should have read up more on the strategies of bidding. But it's been crazy busy at work and my time was running out. Just needed to finalize my plans. I think I did ok?

Michigan Ave/ Water Tower 4* (Best Value): Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Business Center ($85 a night) Being this is my 1st time in Chicago any advice would be greatly appreciated. 20. First time using this site. Trying to plan my hotel for Chicago. I need a hotel for one night Thursday 8/25/05. Then i'm staying with some friends for the weekend. Then i'll need a hotel for 3 days again ... Sunday 8/28-8/29. Really wanted to stay at the Hard Rock but when I tried hotwire it was offering 4* at $95 a night. The hotel had a pool so I guess thats not Hard Rock? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It will be my first time in chicago ...
