  1. Just wanted to share this information with fellow readers, the "Coast Plaza Suite Hotel" in Vancouver is now classified as 3.5* by PRICELINE as opposed to 3* as specified on here. Just bid 3.5* and got this one, not thrilled.
  2. Just wanted to share my experience, hoping it may help someone. Started bidding from $80, at $5 increment, finally got accepted at $100. (Hotel retails for $249/night before tax.)
  3. New York city, Midtown East Feb 14 - Feb 17 Priceline express deal shows: - Restaurant - Business Centre - Bed Choice Available Hotwire (with similar price, should be same hotel) shows: Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Can someone ID this hotel for me? Much appreciated.
  4. I'm looking to book some car rentals but are interested to know what kind of prices people are getting in general so that I have some kind of idea to set my expectations? Do we have a sub forum for posting car rental bids?
  5. I hope admin here can answer this question that I had: I want to support betterbidding so I always ensure I use your link or your search box. Question: If I use your link or your search box to land on priceline, but I don't complete a purchase right away, instead, I may navigate through varies sections of priceline website (for example, the regular priced section, the Name Your Own Price secton, the newly added Express Deals sectioni, etc) back and forth (in a attempt to find the best deal), and then eventually I complete a purchase. Is this okay? Or do I need to initiate every visit to priceline from your link / search box?
  6. Why put up such a moral high ground? Bribery is everywhere, even in America.Ever heard of the word "lobbying cost" when public companies publish their annual financial report? What does "lobbying" mean? It's a fancier word for bribing the government officials! We are not putting the front desk person's job at risk. He can say no.
  7. Used betterbidding link. My bidding story: Started bidding 8.11 - 8.13 Montreal Downtown 3.5*, offering $80 -> $85 -> $90 ->$95. Got counteroffer of $123. Didn't go with it. Then started bidding next weekend 8.18 - 8.20 same criteria, offering $95 just to see what they counteroffer, got counteroffer of $119. Didn't go with it. Then started bidding next weekend 8.25 - 8.27 same criteria, offering $95 just to see what they counteroffer, rejected without counteroffer. Then tried 8.24 - 8.26, offering $95, accepted. Le Méridien Versailles. Location is a little bit far out of downtown (I guess I'm being too picky with meters), and according to tripadvisor review hotel is very old and outdated. Price is not particularly cheap, but okay.
  8. I have been trying to use priceline to bid for 4* hotels in Downtown Montreal & Old Montreal area for August 4 to 6 (civil holiday). I started bidding about 3 weeks ago, went up to $110 with no success. After that I tried every couple of days, until today. Up to $110, still no success. From my past experience and what I see on this board, $110 for 4* should be normal (or at least not too low to only get a automatic refusal, not even a counter offer). What's going on with these dates? Also, even 3 weeks ago I noticed that when I search for hotels through SPG website for 8.4 (Saturday), it says no rooms available for my dates in Sheraton, Westin, W Montreal, Meridien. What's going on with August 4?? Anyways, just sharing my unsuccessful bids.
