  1. Oops, the dates are 6/16/10 to 6/20/10! I think it will be a fine hotel for our needs.
  2. I used the PRICELINE links here to bid and got a new hotel not listed here yet...unless it has a new name now :) The reviews are very mixed and I wish I'd started with a lower bid, but oh, well! Radisson Research Triangle Park I-40 Exit 280 At Davis Drive Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 919-549-8631 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $41.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Room Subtotal: $164.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $32.24 (USD) Total Room Cost: $196.24 (USD)
  3. The Golden Nugget was just featured in a Yahoo! article on the 10 best hotel pools (worldwide). It was one of the only hotels listed in the U.S. I wonder if that hasn't given it quite a boost in people looking for a place to stay in Vegas.
  4. St. Louis Airport Hilton Leave it to me to leave out the most obvious piece of information!
  5. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $38.00 Subtotal: $76.00 Taxes & Fees: $19.84 Total Charges*: $95.84 SO SORRY that I forgot to use betterbidding's PRICELINE links! I have been looking for prices here for myself, then my sister called and asked me to see if I could get her a hotel for a conference she is going to...long story short, we ended up bidding on her laptop, and I completely forgot about the links! I'll be bidding soon for us, though, hopefully! Just wanted to add, this was my first bid and was accepted without asking me to raise it.
  6. Won this bid today. Initial bid of $30 for a 2.5 star, then got offer to add $8 for another chance... Doubletree Club St. Louis Airport Your Offer Price: $38.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $38.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.92 Total Charges: $50.92
  7. Okay, I'm about to throw in the towel (I'll give it one more shot on Thursday), but I've already bid up to $65 for a 3* in Flagstaff, and up to $48 for a 2.5*. The closest I've gotten is an offer to accept my bid if I add $17 to the $65 offer, which is not going to happen. (I tried to add just $5 to see what would happen, but it wouldn't even accept that bid unless I changed something). I'll post if I actually do win a bid, otherwise I'll be at the Fairfield! Thanks! Carrie
  8. Okay, I just tried again. Bid $52 for Flagstaff, then added Bellmont for a free rebid and bid $58, no luck. I have one more try, so I think I'll start with 58, then up it to 65 (my absolute limit). If that's a no go, I'll lower to a 2.5*and also lower my bid--what do you think, to $45? Thanks! Carrie
  9. Ditto. I'm enjoying my new "home" here! Thanks to Thereuare and everyone else here! Carrie
  10. Our back-up is refundable until 3 days prior to check in, I believe. I think that gives me 2 more tries (72-hour periods) on priceline. Hopefully, I'll only need one try, though!
  11. Sorry, my hotel reservation date was 8/22/05, 2 rooms, for one night. I didn't have any higher rejected bids, I was working my way up from $49. Thanks, Carrie
  12. Thank you both so much! I'm going to bid again tomorrow and I'll let you know what happens. My top dollar will be $65 if I stay in the 3* category, but if I drop to a 2.5* I'll probably drop my offer to $50 or so. Does that sound about right? I haven't used priceline for about 4 years, and it is a whole new ball game (especially with sites like this to help)! It is nice to have just a basic idea of what to expect when you are bidding (i.e., knowing that your 3*hotel has a pool). Thanks again, Carrie
  13. I am in the middle of letting a bid expire right now, I'll be trying again soon and wanted to get some opinions first... We are staying in Flagstaff on 8/23/05 for one night--2 rooms. I would like to get the Radisson Woodlands or Embassy Suites (haven't seen anyone win this recently, but supposedly it is an option), at less than $65. (We currently have reservations at the Fairfield for the AARP rate of $67, so I'm basically trying to get close to that rate and upgrade the hotel). Here's the question: Do I start bidding on a 3 star at around $52, then use my one free rebid by adding Bellmont and up it to $58? If they give me a rebid, should I lower my stars to a 2.5 and "settle" for amerisuites or residence inn? If there is a better way to do this, please let me know! Thanks so much... I'll go through savings barn when I make my next attempt and am actively telling everyone about this site where people are treated kindly and can ask questions without fear!!! Thank you, Carrie
  14. I just wanted to let others know that I bid on 8/8/05 for a resort class hotel in Sedona, and won the bid for $56. I used 2 free rebids, adding zones and lowering to a 3*. I found out about this site afterward, but I wanted to share this information. :) I encourage everyone to tell your friends to use this site--we need to make it very current and useful, as it is one of the only friendly places around here to get help with bidding! Thanks!
