  1. One night pre-cruise stay. Started at $50 (with $10 bonus money), rebidded a bunch of times until I was accepted at $70 (with $10 bonus). Higher price for this weekend probably b/c its spring break/easter break week. Bonus money came from a hotel in Hawaii that we got at 3*, but was downgraded to 2.5* a week before we checked in. Thanks to tips from thereuare.
  2. First tried for 4* multiple times with no luck, for up to $73. First bid for 3* at $46 was accepted.
  3. Bidding for my sister for her post-cruise stay in Seattle. Rejected at $90, $95, $100, $103, $106. Thank goodness for all the rebid zones. Your Offer Price: $110.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $220.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $41.07 Total Charges: $261.07
  4. Stayed in early Dec, paid $81/night thru priceline. I thought this was a small little hotel. I'm from the East Coast, I've never heard of the Coast brand Hotels. Apparently it's a small chain in the West Coast and Pacific. About a 15 min drive from the airport. We checked in at around 3 but the room was not ready, was told it'll be ready in 15 mins. Waited for 10 mins in the lobby and the staff informed me our room is ready. We received a garden view in the 2nd floor. Nice size room, bathroom was nice also. Beds were comfortable, empty fridge inside the room, wireless internet access was available for $15/day? (don't remember exactly) but you can get free internet in the lobby b/c they have 2 computers for their guests to use. There's a 15min rule and most ppl followed it. We saw alot of airline personell checking in, must be a favorite with the airlines. My major griped is that they don't have central A/C, each room is equipped with a seperate A/C unit. It can get quiet cold if you leave the A/C on before going to bed b/c their A/C unit don't have a power saver option. If you don't turn the A/C on, it can get hot and stuffy. Self-parking is free, they have ample spaces available. A nice/uncrowded beach is across the street. We didn't try the pool or Spices restaurant, but they looked nice. Overall, this was a nice place to stay for the price. Definately lived up to the 3* hotel level on priceline.
  5. Stayed here for 2 nights before heading to the other islands, paid around $75/night thru priceline. I've bidded for a 3* hotel in Sept and received this one, but right before I left in Dec, this hotel was downgraded to 2*. :) Not as bad as I thought it would be from reading others ppl's reviews. Staff was nice and friendly, small rooms but excellent location. This hotel is located at the end of the Waikiki beach area, if you take the hotel shuttle at the airport, you'll be waiting for everyone to get off at other hotels before the driver stops at Park Shore. Pro's: Cheap Close to beach Friendly staff Lulu's downstairs for breakfast (Hawaiian version of Denny's) Public transportation outside the hotel Con's: Old Hotel Small bathroom 1 of 3 elevators not working
  6. Stayed here for 3 nights in early Dec 2005, paid $95/night thru priceline. I have the Marriott Rewards Visa credit card (annual fee waived for first year), it comes with membership for Marriott Silver Elite (their frequent hotel guest program). So as soon as I found out I'll be staying at this property, I called Marriott's 800# and gave them my membership #. A few days later, I checked my reservation on marriott's website and saw that they've reserve a partial oceanview room for me which was great. If not for this, I think they would put priceline guests in garden view rooms (which isn't all that bad either). Our partial oceanview room faces the pool (see attached pic), to the left of the balcony is the ocean. The room itself was nice and clean. Roomy bathroom w/ the sink outside of the bathroom in the mirror/makeup area. In room hi-speed internet is included with the $15 resort fee (which also includes free parking, 1/2 day of snorkeling, 2 mai tai's daily which you can substitute for other drinks at the same price range at the bar like pina colada, strawberry daquiries, etc). The construction didn't really bother us. You only notice it when you check in b/c it's adjucent to the check-in driveway area where the bell hops are, they're also working on the area behind the pool/beach where a small wall blocks access. The beach is a within the hotel grounds, maybe 100 yards past the pool and is by far the best part of the hotel. You will enjoy a postcard-esque sunrise and sunset almost everyday (see attached pic) b/c of the excellent weather on this side of the Big Island. A nice treat for you and your spouse/gf is to get your 2 free drinks at the bar by the pool right before sunset and then bring it to the beach where there are ample beach chairs lying around. We haven't seen more than 10-15 ppl at the beach during our stay, and this is a nice size private beach. We took advantage of the free 1/2 day snorkeling. They'll give you free gear, fins, lifevest, etc. We didn't see any fishes in the afternoon, we were told you're better off snorkeling in the early mornings. Instead we went kayaking/snorkeling by Captain Cook where we saw hundreds of tropical fishes. We didn't attend the Luau b/c I read reviews where some said it gets windy at night. And they're right, I found out Waikoloa means windy in Hawaiian. You'll witness 20+mph wind gust at night, perhaps they should built a wind farm here in the future. We were able to see parts of the Luau from our room and it looked like everyone was having fun, the fire dancing looked nice. The only downside to staying at this hotel is the distance from Kona. It's about a 20 min drive from the Kona Airport. But it takes about 30 mins to drive to downtown Kona. We drove to Kona twice for dinner (at Kona Inn Restuarant and Kenichi's) and it is rough to drive 30 mins back to the Marriott after a big delicious meal at night. We were still jet lagged as we flew in from the east coast so that made the problem worst. As mentioned by 7continentKaren, there's a nice shopping mall across from the Marriott. Inside the mall is a nice restaurant called Roy's. It is one of the best places to eat in Hawaii (better than the 2 restaurants mentioned prior), great food and great service in a trendy/hip atmosphere. Don't forget to make reservations as it gets crowded. We haven't stayed at the Hilton so we cannot comment on which was better but was $95/night, it is well worth it. Would love to stay here again! 7. Have been trying for 3 months, rejected up until now (a week before the trip). Your Offer Price: $31.00 Total Rental Days: 3 Subtotal: $93.00 Taxes & Fees: $31.70 Total Charges: $124.70
  8. This hotel is located away from the city center, closer to the Museum District. You'll need to take a tram ride to get to the city. If you're going to Amsterdam for the Museums, this is a great location. I think it was a bad move for PL to combine the City and Museum zone. It's like creating a new zone in NYC called Lower Manhattan/Mid-town. Such a zone covers a wide area. :)
  9. I've also received this email and reported it to ebay/paypal.
  10. Another tip: if you have United frequent flyer miles, you can redeem an r/t interisland ticket on Aloha airlines for 5,000 miles. Sign up for the United airlines Chase credit card (no annual fee the first year), they give you 20,000 bonus miles on your first purchase.
  11. I've been trying for the last 2 months, bidding up to $20. First bid today of $16 for mid-size rejected, changed to full-size for $18, received the "chances are low, raise your bid" screen, ignored it, and was accepted. Your Offer Price: $18.00 Total Rental Days: 2 Subtotal: $36.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.18 Total Charges: $53.18
  12. We stayed at the Ramada Plaza Fallviews last weekend for a 2 nights stay. We paid $65/night thru Priceline. This is a small hotel, they do not have a parking lot but they will valet your car for a reasonable CAD$10/day. Some might think this is inconvinent but when you get to your room and see the view from the ceiling-to-floor windows, you will forget about everything else. Rooms start from the 27th floor and up, so you are bound to get a room with a good view. We did not spend more $ for a falls view room but the city view was not bad at all. Also, you can go down to the 25th floor observation deck that's opened 24/7 and enjoy the view of the falls there. Because this hotel is inside the Konica-Minolta Tower, the rooms are configured around the tower. Therefore, the rooms are smaller than what some are used to. But coming from NYC, it was not small for us at all. The view more than makes up for the size of the room. The bathroom was big considering the size of the room. There's no hi-speed internet access, and I couldn't pick up any free wi-fi signals from nearby. They have dial-up internet available but I didn't use it. We ate breakfast at the 26th floor restaurant, they had a special breakfast buffett for CAD$8.99. It was a decent selection but that price is well worth it for the view you get while eating breakfast. You get the same view during breakfast as from the oberservation deck. :) The next day, we ate breakfast at Denny's on Lundy's Lane thinking it was cheaper than the local Denny's but we were disappointed. Grand Slam breakfast was CAD$12.99 and we had to wait 30-45 mins for our food to come b/c the restaurant was over-crowded/under-staffed on a Sunday morning in late September. We shoulda went back to the hotel restaurant. :)
  13. Just needed it for one day, first bid $15 for mid-size rejected. Changed to $15 for Compact, got the screen of "low chance of acceptance", ignored it, was accepted for Hertz. Your Offer Price: $15.00 Total Rental Days: 1 Subtotal: $15.00 Taxes & Fees: $10.01 Total Charges: $25.01
  14. Yeah we're happy with the hotel because of all the great reviews on tripadvisor. We didn't really want to spend alot of money for a resort in Maui.
  15. First bid of $81 rejected, re-bid at $88 rejected, rebid at $95 accepted. The hotel website has a internet special of $140. Still not a bad deal at all. Will be writing reviews on this site after my trip. :) Your Offer Price: $95.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $285.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $45.08 Total Charges: $330.08
  16. Paid $56/night thru priceline, I believe the reason I got it for so cheap is because the atrium and parts of the outside was under renovation, also the streets outside the gated resort was being repaved. For the amount I paid, this did not bother me at all. As long as they are not working on the massive 1/2-acre swimming pool with 9 waterfalls, you'll love this resort. This hotel/resort is really big. They charge a resort fee of $13/day per room which includes access to the giant pool, 3 outdoor hot tubs, tennis, golf course, horseback riding, paddle boating, canoeing, bike riding, volleyball, self car park, in-room high speed internet access, etc. We went to the theme parks in the morning and as the lines grew in the afternoon (imagine the late-June crowd at Disney's Magic Kingdom, I live in NYC, it's like Time Sqaure on New Year's eve but with more kids and strollers and humid 95 degree heat), we went back to the resort to relax. You can actually stay inside the resort for a couples of days without getting bored. The rooms are nice and clean, nothing fancy. Our rooms came with a small balcony. With all the activities you can do, we didn't stay in our rooms for very long, only to sleep in at night. The location is excellent. We didn't eat in the expensive restaruants inside the hotel because within a 5 block radius you can find: the Olive Garden, Sizzler, Red Lobster, McDonalds, Burger King, IHOP, Hooter's, 7-11, Walgreens, Chinese Buffet, Denny's, The Crab House, etc etc. There's a 110-store premium outlet 5 mins away that has a Disney and Universal Studio outlet store where you can get cheap souviners. Disney world, Seaworld, and Universal Studio theme park itself are all about 2 exits away on I-4. It's currently ranked #4 of all hotels on Tripadvisor and it deserves this ranking. My friends and I are more than happy to pay double what we paid to stay here again.
  17. Started at 4*, rejected at $58, $63, $68 Tried 3*, rejected at $60, $68 Dropped to 2.5*, rejected at $58, $61, accepted at $65 I was a bit worried at first but it's got excellent reviews on tripadvisor.com, in fact it's ranked #4 out of 100, above the two Sheratons and Embassy Suites??!! Your Offer Price: $65.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $260.00 (US dollars) Taxes & Service Fees: $32.70 (US dollars) Total Charges: $292.70 (US dollars)
  18. First bid of $75 rejected, got the screen "if you increase your bid by $22 more... etc", ignored it, increased bid to $81, got accepted.
  19. I also believe there should be sub-categories for big states such as New York. Someone looking for past bids of hotels in Upstate/Buffalo/Niagara Falls/Long Island/Queens-LGA/etc would have to weed out all the Manhattan hotels to find what they are looking for. You can make the same argument for Florida and divide it into Orlando/Miami/Tampa/Fort Lauderdale/etc. I feel that this is the major difference between this site and the other priceline help site, besides the unpopular moderator.
