  1. Thanks for the thorough explanation! I've been bidding for several year and I've never seen a message like that. Lesson learned. I think with your help, I've determined that I may/probably added in an incorrect rebid zone. Trying to give PL the benefit of the doubt here. I was bidding for a room while riding in a car and had spotty internet/cell service. My initial bid was obviously for a 3 star hotel in Chapel Hill...then I threw in some free rebid zones....and must have inadvertent select Cary North. The message definitely threw me when I won that hotel....my initial thought was that PL had thrown me a curve ball. The hotel I "won" was this one. I never actually checked-in since it was 25 miles away from Chapel Hill. Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Raleigh Cary North My dates where Aug 18 - Aug 21....and the winning bid was $60. I still stand my review on the Aloft. Decent hotel absolutely terrible location. Sorry for the confusion and really appreciate BB and all your help. Thanks again
  2. A couple strong warnings when bidding in Chapel Hill zone. When you bid in the Chapel Hill zone there is a small message that appears at the top of the page stating "Please note: Chapel Hill, North Carolina is located within the Raleigh - Durham, NC region and may or may not be in one of the areas listed below". The message is very easy to miss. I’ve never seen this type message before when bidding over many years. I made the huge mistake of bidding in the Chapel Hill zone and got a hotel that is 23 miles away in an entirely different zone. That makes absolutely NO sense. Why would I bid in a particular zone if PL just randomly gives you a room in another zone. Also, there is an Aloft Hotel (3 Star) in Chapel Hill zone. You may want avoid this place. It’s cozily nestled between an active fire station on one side and a very noisy 7 lane active highway in front. For me sleep was difficult to come by. Will never even think about a 3 Star property in Chapel Hill as long as this hotel is in the zone. In addition, $10 to park.
  3. 3.5 Star downtown Birmingham, AL 4/20/17 - 4/22/17 Hotwire showing $79 Amenities... Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access My strong guess is the Sheraton because of the indoor pool. The other 3.5 that I see is the Doubletree but I see no indoor pool there. Any thought would be appreciated. Regular rate for Sheraton $200+ a night. Thanks!!
  4. I believe this is new one for our hotel list. Express deal was $66...feel sure it was same property. First bid ($59) accepted.
  5. NOTE:.....the hotel I won is not Holiday Inn Express BUT the Holiday Inn. I believe this is a new hotel to be added to the hotel listing as I could not change the hotel name. Worked up from $100. Use the BB PRICELINE link. The hotel website has the rooms at $176!! I'm pleased with the purchase. Gets decent reviews.
  6. Just a quick question / observation. When you are bidding for 3 star property for downtown Chattanooga, it currently shows "8+" for guest reviews on the bidding page. The Choo-Choo currently has 6.3 for guess reviews. Do you think its safe to assume that I would not get Choo-Choo if I bid for 3 star considering the bidding page states 8+ ? In my opinion, the Choo-Choo is closeer to a 2 star hotel! Thanks for all you do!
  7. Guaranteed Amenities: Free Breakfast Free Internet in room Indoor Swimming Pool Free Parking Airport Shuttle Business Center Fitness Center
  8. Took a chance on a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal....not the "deal" I was hoping for. A few notes..... I did bid up to $50 for a 2.5 and did not get hit. The $59 includes 10% Bonus Cash. The place actually gets good reviews but rather got one of the other known 2.5 star properties. This propery is listed under Bedford when you do the Priceline "List View"....but it shows as Airport in the Express Deal. Some Priceline bait-and-switch! This property is not in our list as a possible 2.5 star property. Not sure its a "bid-able" hotel....but I think it could be a possibility. Anyone taking the Express Deal should be warned. Thanks for great website!
  9. Very nice property with good restaurants nearby.
  10. Nice property with good restaurants nearby. I believe this is new property for the list
  11. Total was $161.....taxes and fees were more than the car rental charge!
  12. Worked up from $35. Won't bid in this zone again because of this hotel. Bathroom had used shampoo bottle in shower, hair on bed linens, sofa and furnishings are very worn. "Breakfast" was marginal. I saw some other bad reviews on this place as well. Too bad, there are few other options in the area.
  13. Best rate on Marriott web was $99. Was hoping for Hyatt Suites and hoping to avoid the "Crown Plaza". I'm happy. We've stayed here before....small rooms compared to other hotels in the area and they still charge for internet.
  14. This was race weekend downtown so had to pay a little more that I wanted.
  15. Best rate in Marriott website was $99.
  16. My bad.....sorry about that. Dates were 6/15 - 6/19. Thanks for all you do to keep this board going. Its huge help in the "bidding wars".
  17. Be aware that this property is right next to a major interstate. Ask for room opposite the interstate to avoid some of the noise. Also has free shuttle to Beale Street.
  18. Worked up from $45 with all the free ATL rebids. Nice place and close to everything.
