For whatever reason, November 6 - November 10 seems very busy and expensive. I used the rebidding strategy by selecting areas that didn't have my minimum star rating, but when I couldn't get a 4 star hotel within my budget, I dropped down to a 3.5, and after some rebidding with places like Jamaica Plain and Dorchester selected, I was able to get the Boston Park Plaza. Used the "QuickQuote" link on Betterbidding.com to search PRICELINE for 4 star hotel in Palm Springs (proper -- not Indio or Rancho Mirage/Indian Wells/Palm Desert) at $95. Offer was rejected. Tried again for 3.5 star hotels at $90 and offer was accepted. Prior offers of $70, $75 and $80 for 3.5 stars had been rejected.
I booked through the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com. I'd been employing the bidding strategy in and around Midtown (Empire State Building, Midtown East, Midtown West, Madison Square Garden, and Times Square -- throwing in outlying areas that didn't have hotels in my star categories (3.5 - 4) in order to increase my bid price) for a couple of weeks, but hadn't had anything accepted. $160 was the magic number.
Not much to report. The hotel is showing at approximately $120 on the travel websites, so I feel like I got a good deal. I'm excited that it's walk-able to the train station. I booked through the PRICELINE link on betterbidding.com.

In the hotel list thread, this hotel is identified as a 2.5 star, but it now shows up on Hotwire as a 2.0 star. The amenities are Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service), and high-speed internet access. This isn't the property I was hoping for, but I'm sure it will be fine.
