Hi everyone. I just got back from Vegas and had mixed results with the tipping trick. Stayed one night at the Wynn where the tipping worked like a champ. We were able to check in before 10 am and got an upgraded room (fantastic view). Tried it at Caesar's, things did not go so well. Got a room upgrade for a fraction of the cost (good) and able to check in 3 hours early. However the room was smoking and far away from everything we asked for. Ended up switching rooms, the clerk who originally helped us (and got tipped) was not available to help us with the switching. Took quite a bit of doing, but ended up getting the room we wanted. Tipped the clerk when all was said and done. The clerk then said he felt bad, he had done everything he could and he wished he could do more (only gave him $5). Overall, I would try the tipping trick again. I would just get a better feel for the clerk first.
