  1. last minute bid, feeling under the weather so not alot of time or energy to get this one right.. wanted 4* in North Michigan Ave zone. Previous bid was $85, so I may well have overbid on this one. Your Offer Price: $99.00 Number of Rooms: 4 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $396.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $70.40 Total Charges: $466.40
  2. Had to bid up to $65... :) needed to be in either Crystal City or Arlington. Your Offer Price: $65.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $130.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $26.17 Total Charges: $156.17
  3. Doubletree Chicago Oakbrook Oakbrook - Downer's Grove 1909 Spring Road Oak Brook, Illinois 60523 630-573-1234
  4. Your Offer Price: $35.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $35.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.25 Total Charges: $47.25
  5. Bid 3* Oakbrook $35, got a counteroffer @ $44 Added Willowbrook $39, rejected Added Elmhurst $42, accepted Next move would have been to go to $44 by adding my last free rebid, Arlington Heights North. Your Offer Price: $42.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $84.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.82 Total Charges: $101.82
  6. Same-day bid, hit on the first try. Hyatt's internet prepaid rate was $109. Your Offer Price: $40.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $80.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.40 Total Charges: $97.40
  7. Bidding for others, availability is incredibly tight with plenty of properties sold out. They had pretty much resigned themselves to paying ~ $129 for a Super 8-style accomodation. Bid up slowly as they wanted to be in Palm Beach but were more or less willing to travel to Stuart or Jupiter. $110 was rejected, $115 accepted: Your Offer Price: $115.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $460.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $64.82 Total Charges: $524.82
  8. Bidding for a friend, cash-constrained. Stay is for 2 nights from now, so no time to rebid. Bid anywhere in Manhattan 3* up to $115, and 2.5* in MTW, MTE, UM-CPS, UWS, UES up to $115 unsuccessfully. Hotwire had the Hyatt @ $76. Might've gotten it on PL for $48, but figured I was a shoe-in at $55. Your Offer Price: $55.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $23.45 Total Charges: $133.45
  9. Starting at $65 and bid up to $82 before a successful hit @ $87. Quite pleased, actually. 'Backup' would have been The Grosvenor Resort in WDW for $99 prepaid on Orbitz. But am much happier with this property, which btw is $199 for the first night and $249 for the 2nd night on the property's website. Looks quite nice, too.
  10. Your Offer Price: $87.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $174.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $30.74 Total Charges: $204.74
  11. Bid $45 and got a counteroffer at $58 which I rejected. So my plan was to re-bid in $4 increments with my 3 rebids: 49, 53, 57 I hit on the first re-bid. Your Offer Price: $49.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $98.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $23.88 Total Charges: $121.88
  12. Whoops, made a mistake while posting. This win was for checkin 2/15, checkout 2/16, so not even Valentine's. No real understanding of what drove the high price needed for a room considering prevailing rates.
  13. Started @ $55, rebid with Bel Air, Commerce, Culver City, Hollywood, LAX (@ $85) and finally Redondo @$89. Your Offer Price: $89.00 Number of Rooms: 3 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $267.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $48.30 Total Charges: $315.30 Perhaps Valentine's had something to do with it?
  14. Number of Rooms: 3 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $156.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $27.57 Total Charges: $183.57
  15. Started @ $68 and count a counteroffer @ $85. Added Cathedral Hill @ $71, rejected Added Fisherman's Wharf @ $74, rejected Added Civic Center @ $77, rejected Then added South San Francisco @ $79. If that had been rejected I'd have bid $85 adding the airport... This is the closest to a counteroffer I've had to come before Priceline accepted. Your Offer Price: $79.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $158.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $31.98 Total Charges: $189.98
  16. Bid $53, PL countered with $68. I declined and bid $58 (my hunch is I coulda gotten it for $55). Your Offer Price: $58.00 Number of Rooms: 3 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $174.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $28.74 Total Charges: $202.74
  17. Hope they enjoyed it. Hotel is right next to a Giant grocery store with an ABC Liquor Store just past it. A block down is the Sheraton Suites. Not walking distance to Old Town or the Metro (well, I guess it IS but it's a long walk) but I believe the hotel has a shuttle to the metro.
  18. Your Offer Price: $55.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $55.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.44 Total Charges: $67.44 Possible overbid, I've seen successful bids ~ $10 lower, but didn't want to risk the lower bid with no rebid zones.
  19. Definitely a nice win. It's been a long time since I've seen a 4* UM-CPS win @ $120! (Speaking of which, how long since we've seen a 4* MTS win in that range?)
  20. Yeah, I probably should've started @ $95 tho. :) Prevailing rate at the property was $239 IIRC, far lower than the $389 they were asking when I last won the hotel for $110. :)
  21. Won on the first bid. Your Offer Price: $100.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $400.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $68.76 Total Charges: $468.76
  22. Just thought that I'd point out that this hotel is info that BetterBidding has and others do not... :) :) :o
  23. It's a good rate for the hotel at this time of year. When I stayed their over the summer (off season) I paid a AAA rate of $85 which included breakfast buffet for 2 and 2 cocktails each day. The addition of a 4* in the area is new. I hadn't known the Renaissance to participate before, perhaps that's why 4* was added. Interestingly Marriott Boca Raton is a 3* in the same zone.. and often has a higher room rate by about $10. I really like this property. Pool is nice, rooms are fine, but where they really shine is in service. Checkin is by staffers sitting behind desks, much more relaxed and elegant. And they were happy to meet my every need. When I walked in to check in for the first time they actually figured out who I was by name (they weren't busy, it was off season). And when I asked for a dozen wine glasses and a dozen champagne glasses so I could open a few bottles with friends out by the pool, they were happy to oblige. At no charge. And they even brought out complimentary bottles of water for everyone.
  24. Gotta love when you can get an OMNI for the price of a Motel 6 (and 2/3rds the price of a Best Western) :)
