  1. Sorry I am posting this after the fact. My son and his friends drove up for a Dave Matthews concert. Booked this as they are all 18/19 (five people also) and they were allowed to check in as an 18-year-old. Said everything went well with check in and the room was clean/nicely appointed. The cheapest rate I could find before had for the Hyatt Place was $150 so we saved a little. Amenities Free breakfast Free parking Free Internet Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Business center Internet access Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  2. Sorry for the delay in replying as I just saw your message. Here are the amenities shown on my booking. Looks like it is the same as when I posted except for the accessibility items. Hotel Amenities Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Spa services Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  3. One night stay for tonight. Just purchased an hour ago. Cheapest prepaid rate available prior to purchase was $99. Was pretty confident this was going to be the Westin. Amenities shown: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Airport shuttle Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Spa services
  4. Hi everyone, Just wanted to report that we had an exceptional stay at the James Royal Palm. Beautiful place. Service is impeccable. Even saw Owen Wilson in the exercise room.
  5. AaronJB, since winning the James, I have been surprised to learn that this is considered a 4.5 on HOTWIRE's vacation package. Do I have any recourse with them?
  6. Moderators, Please delete my other thread as I didn't include enough information in the title. Need help in identifying a 5* property in Miami for a one-night stay next week. Coming in at $241 for two adults. Date: Jan. 18-19, 2013. Thinking this is The Setai as I crossreferenced with Hotwire's vacation packages. Plan to book immediately using your HOTWIRE links. 5-star Hotel in South Beach - Oceanfront Collins This Hotel features the following amenities: Resort Beachfront Property Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  7. Going rate was $259. Big events going on in Nashville and it was hard to find anything, anywhere. Decided this would be our best option. The resort icon was the giveaway that this would be the Opryland Resort. Staying one night. April 27 4* Gaylord Opryland Icons shown: Resort, Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services $159 with taxes and fees, $195.55. I know I am going to get stuck with a resort fee ($15) as well as the self parkking fee ($18). Bid through your HOTWIRE link.
  8. As mentioned in my original post, yes, there was a pool icon.
  9. Paid $100 a night for a two-night stay. Taxes were $37.71 for a total of $237.71. Was rejected up to $90 on Priceline. Busy Derby weekend but Sunday is also graduation at the University of Kentucky. Happy to have received a property close to Rupp Arena as well as the UK campus. Amenities shown were: Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center and High-Speed Internet Access. Haven't been stayed there since 1988. Held our wedding reception at The Campbell House.
  10. Knew this would either be the 21C Museum Hotel or The Brown Hotel. We would have been happy with either. This is for one night, March 10, 2012. Cheapest rate was $239. Knew The Brown had previously come up when the Laundry Facility icon was show, which was the case this time around also. My other deciding factor that this was indeed the 21C was the Spa Services icon. Amenities shown were: Smoke-Free Rooms, Business Center, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s, Laundry Facilities (self service), Spa Services, Golf Nearby and Hi-Speed Internet Access.
  11. Was pretty sure this would be the Drury Inn as it has been reported before. Bid on Priceline up to $60 with no success. This is for one night, March 9, 2012. Cheapest rate was $110. Amenities shown were: Complimentary Breakfast, Business Center, Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities (self service), pool and Hi-Speed Internet Access. Went through your HOTWIRE link and also used the $20 rebate from the Entertainment Card.
  12. Just wanted to provide closure to this thread. We ended up booking conventionally because my daughter and her traveling companions needed to be in a particular area of Brooklyn and the subway system. Thanks for everyone's help.
  13. Unfortunately, she needs to be in Brooklyn. Dates are firm.
  14. I have been checking on the Union as well but when booking it straight out, I can reserve for $63.50 per night (average) as a Choice Privileges member. Members get 20 percent off as an Early Booking Bonus. The reviews make me nervous. We will decide something very soon and report back as to our final decision. Thanks for your help. And if you have any other ideas how I might figure this out, please advise.
  15. I have done as requested. Today the rate is $67. Again, same amenities are shown. Best Value. Eight bookings in the last 24 hours. Again, my research through HOTWIRE's vacation packages is showing 3* properties as Aloft, Hotel LeBleu and Pointe Plaza.
  16. Originally, this is what I thought might come up -- the Holiday Inn Express on Butler but it is now rated 2.5. Is there any chance that the vacation packages are not matching up with the hotel products?
  17. Need help in identifying a 3* Hotwire property for March 10-17, 2012. The rate is $69 a night. This changed from the last couple of days as it was $90 a night until a few hours ago. Amenities shown and doublechecked are: complimentary breakfast, business center and high-speed internet available. It is listed as a "Best Value." Also, the marked out normal price is $151 a night. When cross referencing through Hotwire's vacation product, the properties that come up are Aloft, Pointe Plaza and Hotel LeBleu. Aloft doesn't offer a comp. breakfast, which makes me think it could be one of the other two. Please help! This is for my college-aged daughter (21) and I want her to be somewhere safe and nice. I most certainly will buy through the site's link. Thanks!
  18. Had been watching this on Hotwire when the price dipped yesterday to $97. Was confident that this was the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six. Bid this morning (through the link from Better Bidding), started at $70 and was quite surprised to have my price accepted immediately! Actually thought I was lowballing and halfway through thought about upping it a bit since I had several rebids. We are arriving late and staying one night prior to our short NCL cruise on the Sky out of Miami. Have always wanted to stay here. Going rate was $269 a night so I am really astonished that $70 was accepted. Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six 2301 South East 17Th Street Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 Winning bid: $70.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.97 Total Charged to Card: $85.97
  19. Date: March 31, 2012 Number of nights: 1 Area: Hollywood Hotel: Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa Rating: 4 star Site: Priceline Winning bid: $95 (taxes and fees: $19.26; total: $114.26
  20. I'm thinking this could be the Sheraton Airport on Griffin Road. I am looking at the same date for a one-night stay. No luck with Priceline. Have bid up to $129 and rejected. Thinking of nabbing the four star Hollywood property that showed up today at $108. Just wondering what the taxi ride may cost from FLL or to the port of Fort Lauderdale,
  21. Applehead, there is a huge medical convention of surgeons in town. Assuming there is any availability, $150 would not even be close. The Marriott is showing rooms at $593 a night plus taxes. We are in the same boat as you and looking for the same dates. We have a backup at Wakeup Copenhagen but it is outrageous.
  22. Noticed that the Lexington and Lexington North zones have now been combined since bidding last month for a different stay. Started with $40 for a 3.5 Lexington-Lexington North zone and was rejected. Added Lexington South and was accepted at the Hilton Suites at Lexington Green. Very nice hotel as we have stayed here before. Good location as well. Sorry I just realized that the date should be Saturday, March 26, not the 25th as indicated in the subject line. Can't edit.
  23. Have tried bidding this zone for a couple of days with no luck until this morning. Bid $80 DT 4* Philadelphia and got the message "If you raise your bid now by $20 etc." I ignored and added a free rebid and went to $82. This was rejected. Tried for a third time with another free rebid and won the Sofitel. Very, very happy about this. Ranks No. 3 on Tripadvisor. Reviews and location seem really great! Also had been up to $65 for a three star in the same Downtown zone previously to this bid with no success.
