  1. Just updating this thread with what I went with: I found a promo booking direct with any MGM brand hotels provided a discount plus a resort credit up to $200 for a minimum stay of 2 nights. The promo is in conjunction with Royal Caribbean though cruises have nothing to do with it and the promo is open to anyone. Some resorts were less than $200 but Bellagio and Aria were $200. The credit was good for food and drinks spent in the hotel. I was booking for 4 nights, and the terms of the promo state that consecutive reservations are not entitled to two promos (in other words, booking back to back 2 night reservations at Bellagio, you could not get it twice) so we decided to book 2 nights at Bellagio and two nights at Aria to see if we could get around the terms and get the $200 twice. So the rooms averaged about $150 a night ($130 weekday rate, $170 weekend rate) less $100 per day in resort credit. $600 total before taxes and fees for 5* hotel and $400 in resort credit. Thought this deal was worth not using hotwire or priceline for my dates.
  2. Thank you. I appreciate the responses.
  3. When I go to Priceline for Name Your Own Price I do not see a Strip South zone, I tried changing dates to see if it was that? Is Strip South and Strip South Vicinity the same? Thanks.
  4. I am not sure. But the reason I post here is to id the hotels. With all due respect, it seems to be a lot of trouble to get feedback on ids of hotels on this forum. I'm not looking to spend $150 a night, and I wrote that I consider that an expensive option. If the $57 is the Trump which Im guessing it might be I think thats a good price. Ideally, I want to be around $90 and $120 for a 5* on the strip, preferably with a casino. I know that might be unrealistic. And Im curious whether booking through name your own price or unnamed hotel has any result on resort fees? I am not partial to HOTWIRE or PRICELINE - I simply want the best deal.

  6. Do you know what hotel this would likely be?
  7. Best Western Hotel Tria was $111 per night before taxes and fees including free full breakfast. It matched my amenities in the first post. The hotel offers free shuttle throughout the day to train and to Harvard area
  8. Responded on that thread but I was unable to edit title.
  9. Hotel was 3* Best Western Tria Amenities: Restaurant, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Hotel was nice but far from where I had to be.... taxis to get from W. Cambridge to E. Cambridge were about $30 in the morning.
  10. Hi, I'm thinking of Vegas for 6/12-16. I am getting $86 for Strip South 5* Amenities do not include casino or resort? I am guessing Four Seasons but not sure.

Super Saver $112 per night.. 3-star Hotel in Cambridge This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Breakfast Free Internet Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Four possibilities from hotel list
  12. Haven't really decided - would nice to know ballpark of what to bid,
  13. I have a convention in Philly that week. Rates are high through convention site $200+/night give or take. Figured I would do a preliminary post, and research on this site... ( which I have used a few times in the past) to determine what I should bid. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  14. I won the Crowne Plaza San Pedro tonight for $85. Less than 2 weeks away. Patience paid off a little. I know someone about a week ago won @ $100 for the same night and lost at $99 (cruise leaves the next day so busy night) My highest non-winning bid was $75 tonight and got immediate offer for free rebid at $90 so closed browser, tried $85 and unexpectedly won. Of course wish I tried $80 but I do not think it would have been accepted. Advance purchase rate from hotel website is $153 though I could have gotten room direct from hotel chain website using either govt rate (which I am eligible) or friends and family rate which I found a link in another forum for about $115. But still saved a little. One thing I learned if PRICELINE doesn't pan out immediately, find the best rate that can be canceled up until a few days before and hold it with a credit card as backup, then try priceline again right up to your cancellation period is with your real reservation is about to end because apparently hotels do release lower rates to PRICELINE as it gets closer if they are not 100% booked. Didn't see an edit link to post win info in subject, I guess thereuare updates it =) And of course, I used the PRICELINE link on this site in support of this valuable resource.
  15. I bid up to $70 in the LB area and $86 in the San Pedro area with no luck. I figure there is low availability due to all the cruises. I have put down a credit card reservation direct with a hotel which I can cancel up to 24 hours before. I am thinking my strategy should be to bid each week, not really going over what I want to pay through priceline and maybe as it gets closer they will release some more rooms at lower prices. one question for thereuare - all hotels listed in the hotel lists are based on previous wins and therefore should have at least one thread in the forum indicating a members bid experience... the Torrance/Carson area lists 3.5* Marriott Torrance South Bay in the hotel list - I was trying to find the thread on the forum where the person won that bid but I was unable to.... ?
  16. Not having great luck. I bid $70 and $75 today and got rejected. There are basically 4 areas in the Long Beach area. Long Beach Long Beach Airport Area (LGB) San Pedro Torrance - Carson The way I see it I only get 1 rebid. Since I want 3.5* and all areas have them except for LB Airport area. So first bid San Pedro alone, 2nd bid adding LB Airport.
  17. Doubletree has a $110 for 1 person, $120 for 2 for State/Local employees which I am qualified for. I do not think that rate includes breakfast, wifi or anything else for that matter - just a bare rate. I think it is a busy night because cruise ships depart the next morning. Holiday Inn Crowne Plaxaa is $144 normal and $118 Govt. Not sure if extra priceline fees make it worth it to go direct.
  18. I tried bidding up to $65 and got rejected. I can only add one other area b/c all but one include 3.5*.... Is it safe to add 3* for only San Pedro area to rebid? Is there a way to tell if they have 3* in their inventory of hotels b/c I am really hoping for one of the 2 3.5* listed in the hotel list.
  19. Yes, sorry. This is same travel as my post in the priceline forum that you responded to but I felt I was getting off topic as this is related to Hotwire. Dates 11/7 -11/9 $179.
  20. 3.5* in Atlantic City on Hotwire Condo Amenities 1-Bedroom Suite Air Conditioning Children's Activity Program Fitness Center Pool(s) Laundry Facilities Golf Nearby Spa Services Think its the Wyndam however floorplan is not same as floorplan on their site.
  21. i was wondering if the 3.5* was the wyndham through HOTWIRE as mentioned in a previous post i was just asking because in the priceline hotel list on this forum there are 4 hotels listed as 3*. I didnt think the Sheraton and the Tropicana would be in the same locale.
  22. Need a room in AC for 11/7-11/9, would like Topicana dont want Sheraton. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  23. French Quarter Upscale Hotel 4* This Hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access
  24. Just booked this through HOTWIRE using the link on this site. $49 a night, Astor Crowne Plaza, 8/6 through 8/9 right before I go on a cruise out of New Orleans. Now booked flight and hotel, just have to book the cruise :) I bid up to $46 for a 4* at Priceline and got rejected. EasyClickTravel was $74 as an "Off The Record" At that point I figured $49 at Hotwire was a great deal. They offer a $79 government rate on hotel site which I am semi - entitled to - I work for local govt - I am sure they would of accepted my city employee id as proof for the govt rate, but that is still about $90 more. I noticed they have sofa bed rooms - I hope I am not forced to take one of those :) Hope I can still get the Entertainment Rebate.
