  1. Admins, you might want to update the hotel lists, because your Hotel Indigo amenities don't mention "boutique." Based upon that I was expecting the Klimpton, which would've been fine, but Hotel Indigo was a pleasant surprise. So excited to win Hotel Indigo again, for this price! Have been checking for weeks and the price finally dropped, a couple days before our annual trip. Used Better Bidding HOTWIRE link and extra $10 Hotwire Promo Code, thank you. With coupon and taxes it's $197.61. Hotel Indigo is right in the heart of historic Savannah, they have a convenient parking garage adjacent to hotel. Our stay last year was comfortable and enjoyable. Last year we were able to choose two queen beds on Hotwire before booking. This time we didn't get that choice, but according to their website they only have rooms with two queens (what we want) or one king, or suites. Will call hotel on check-in day to confirm room type; in the unlikely event they give us a king with sofa bed we'll bring a blow-up mattress. Amenities on the final screen before confirming: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Accessible for visually impaired Amenities and description shown before I started booking process: Hot Rate 4-star Boutique Hotel 85% recommended Great! Free Internet $374 $162 Complimentary: Free Internet Amenities: Boutique hotel Business center Fitness center Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms Accessibility: Accessible for visually impaired
  2. Not looking for help, just offering perspective. Thanks, though :)
  3. Had a great stay here! Going back again for the same annual event, and prices are so much higher! The same hotel (I think) is on Hot Rate for $251!
  4. We had a great stay here! It's not mentioned in the amenities, but there was a free hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and grits. Plus danish, cereal, fruit and toast. A neat perk they offer is Wes, a robot who delivers extra toiletries, etc. to your room. Ooh, and the room had bathrobes. They had a free shuttle within 3 miles, which we didn't use. There's a TGI Friday's adjacent, a World of Beer down the block, a CVS Pharmacy, and many other restaurants and shops in walking distance. A person could easily enjoy a stay here without a car. The West Wing feels like it was once a no-tell motel with a seedy pool in its courtyard. But it was reborn as a boutique hotel with a zen garden. Our suite was likely once two adjoining rooms. One became the kitchen and living room, the other the two-queen bedroom with nice large bathroom. The kitchen had a full-height but narrow fridge/freezer, a sink, microwave, and induction burner. Plus stoneware, cookware and silverware. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.
  5. Amenities: Free Parking, Business Center, Free Internet, Fitness Center, No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Price for one queen was $83. Bed choice was offered, so I paid extra for more space for our family of four and got the 2 queen, 1 sofa bed suite for $108. Price I paid was before the 5% discount code you were offering through your PRICELINE EXPRESS link this month, thank you so much. The discount helped sway me from a 2.5 HOTWIRE hotel which was about $40 less for the stay, but even though Hotwire says their room will accommodate four guests, it was nice to choose the exact bed types.
  6. Used Bidding Helper so hopefully you get the credit. Hot Rate Hotel $374 $138 Historic District North - West Area Amenities shown on initial list: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center When you click into the detail it reads: Complimentary: Free Internet Amenities: Boutique hotel, Business center, Fitness center, Pet friendly, Restaurant(s), Smoke-free rooms Accessibility: Accessible for visually impaired 2 queen beds
  7. This was listed as "Downtown - Florida State University area all-suites hotel" Amenities: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry. Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired. That name is a mouthful, right? It wasn't on your hotel list, but I successfully guessed it from the "all-suites" and the "100% recommend" hints, because it gets terrific reviews on Tripadvisor. We could've gone with a 3.5 star for $64, but with a family of four we love (a) free breakfast and (b) suites. I'm kinda surprised this property doesn't earn 3 stars, but I guess I'll hold that thought till we actually stay there. Used HOTWIRE link, thank you. I used to be more of a Priceline gal, but Hotwire has been winning me over lately because they do show the amenities.
  8. The staff went above and beyond during our stay, we were very pleased, We sat down for a late lunch in the hotel restaurant and two minutes later, the power went out! They happened to have an internal meeting going on, so they offered and served us food from the meeting, free of charge. And offered us a free dinner that night "for our trouble." The dinner service was slow, but the food was good, I had the pork mojo, it was amazing. They even picked up our bar tab, which was unexpected. So we paid a few dollars more than your basic Holiday Inn, but with the comp'd meals it certainly worked out in our favor. Great stay, comfortable room, so nice having a separate bedroom, plus a sofa bed for the kids. Breakfast was fine, not great, they do make omelets for you, but their other offerings weren't as good IMO as Country Inns & Suites. Gotta say the manager's reception probably makes up for it, somewhere it said "two drinks," but there didn't appear to be a limit. Wine, a couple domestic beers, and limited cocktails. Plus some salty snacks and chips & salsa.
  9. Used BB HOTWIRE link and was glad to get an extra $15 off my stay! Couldn't tell if I would've gotten that coupon directly from HOTWIRE anyway, but TYVM all the same. It expires today, so I was happy I decided to book today. They had it as a 3.5 star. Even though your hotel list had it as 3-star, I guessed it from the amenities before booking. The reviews were so great, I was willing to pay a few bucks more, instead of maybe saving $30 a night and taking a chance on someplace not as nice. Amenities: Free breakfast, suite, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, self-service laundry, internet access, kitchenette TripAdvisor 4.5 out of 5.0. Hotwire customer reviews 95% recommended This was my first experience with prices rapidly changing on Hotwire! I saw this hotel at $135, then $147, and $136. A 2.5 star hotel was $99 ($142 was crossed out) and then it was $120, and upon opening another browser it was $98. There was also a 3-star all-suites hotel in which I had some interest for $119 ($176 crossed out), and by the time I finished my research back here, it jumped up to $150. If I were more patient, maybe I could've opened new browsers or something, and gotten it...but I just wanted to book and be done.
  10. We had a nice stay, this was a good choice for our family with kids. Our room, and practically all of them, overlook the pool. We were on the second floor. They had a brief show with a baby alligator, which the kids enjoyed. We indulged in quite a bit of free Bud and Bud Light during the one-hour happy hour :) The room was a little dated, but the beds were very comfortable and it was clean. It had a little stove, microwave, and small fridge. As for the amenities list, I was careful to copy them all down before I booked, but I see now I probably didn't include the Accessible ones, because it's not something I tend to notice. Here's what's shown on my confirmation page that I printed: Amenities: Free breakfast, smoke-free rooms, fitness center, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center, self-service laundry, kitchenette Accessibility: Accessible for visually impaired, accessible for hearing impaired, accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom, accessible parking, roll-in shower.
  11. HOTWIRE has changed since I last used it, for the better. It was nice to be able to specify amenities; our kids love free breakfast, so that's a must for us. We could've gotten a random 3-star for less, I expect, but sending the children down for their own breakfast while we sleep in? Priceless. The amenities list, for this hotel, is slightly different from what you have in the hotel list. And of course no amenties lists mention the manager's reception at the tiki bar! Hopefully that's on Saturdays and not just weekdays :) Description: Straightforward 3-star all-suites hotel Amenities: Free breakfast, Golf nearby, Self-service laundry, Condo, Fitness center, Kitchenette, Business center, Smoke-free rooms, Pools(s) Hotwire also mentioned, before booking, that this hotel typically charges a resort fee of around $10. It was nice to have that heads-up. PRICELINE (not PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals or bidding) had it for $129. There was no Express Deal that matches this hotel in stars & area. We were very pleased to save an extra $17 and get the exact hotel we wanted. And of course I used the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link, y'all are the bomb! Thank you so much for all you do, I appreciate you very much!
  12. Started at $100 and first bid accepted. Wish I would've started lower, but didn't expect to get it at this price! Chose both Downtown and Airport.
  13. Thanks to BetterBidding, I lucked out and got the exact hotel I was wanting at a great price! Started at $60 3-star Baymeadows. It offered me the opportunity to raise the same request to $75. I declined Added an area with max 2.5 star and raised to $65, then again to $70 and it was accepted. On the Holiday Inn site it's $119 for the same night. So not a huge percentage savings, but I got a nice Holiday Inn for a Motel 6 price, and that is a win any day of the week in my book!
  14. Sorry, I went back to look at the amenities, but now this hotel is not showing in the list. In my confirmation it reads as follows, but IDK if that's the same as beforehand. Definitely I know it showed free breakfast, parking, and internet before naming the property. Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Internet access, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
  15. Amenities: Indoor pool(s) Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Accessible for the deaf Free Parking Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  16. There must be a convention in town or something. Tried Priceline first and struck out, two days in a row. Went all the way up to $107 (using their $7 bonus cash offer!) for a 3* in downtown or Covington/riverfront, and no dice. Checked out a couple of 4* downtown hotels' websites, and found out they're booked solid! Not trying to whine, I'm just spoiled--so accustomed to getting great 4* Priceline deals, using the skills you taught me! But, I'm traveling on business (I own the company) and bringing an employee, and I needed two rooms, so every dollar counts. Should be happy, I got us a nice place for basically half off, with internet & free parking, only 15 minutes drive from the prospect we're pitching downtown. Wish us luck! I used the HOTWIRE link, of course, because BetterBidding rules. Jules
  17. Used the PRICELINE link, of course, you know I love you like a brother! This was the property I wanted, because I wanted the Grove, didn't want to stay in the Gables. Although my two previous wins in the Gables, the hotels have been just fine. Based on another win I started at $63. They suggested I increase to $79. Fat chance of that, right? So I added North Miami, the only other zone (I found) with less than 3*. Raised to $66, no dice. So then I added Miami Downtown...figuring if it got accepted, that's be fine, I could stay downtown. Nope, raised to $68, added Collins oceanfront, then raised to $70 and was accepted. I'm a bit annoyed about the $24 parking, so I'm looking into alternatives. Any suggestions?
  18. Cookies, yep, that is just what we'll need at 11:00 at night. We'll save them for breakfast, ha! Oops, I'm sure I put it in, but the iPad is not always real message-board friendly. It's for one night this Friday 7/29-30
  19. Used your PRICELINE link, of course, and did my research here before starting. Started in this zone with $36. They offered to close the deal if I went up to $51. I declined and went up to $40, then to $44 and got the Doubletree. Excellent! My whole family is amazed with the hotel deals I get all the time :)
  20. Are you familiar with the Twin Cities? If you're exhibiting in the fair I'm guessing that means you'll be driving from your hotel to the fair in the early morning hours. Saturday and Sunday mornings you should have no problem reaching Uptown quickly, even if you stay in Bloomington. Outside of the traditional "rush hour," the Twin Cities generally have pretty light traffic. If you're mostly looking for an inexpensive place to park and sleep, also consider airbnb. Am I allowed to recommend that here? My family of 4 is staying in the Twin Cities for 2 weeks in August, in someone's walk-out basement with a separate entrance, for $56 a night.
  21. Have you ever used the "extend your stay" option with Priceline? I've used PL several times, but never had occasion to accept that--which I think has been offered every time. We'll stay in the Twin Cities (MN) for a couple weeks this summer, and I'm considering booking a one-night stay, and if I like the result we could extend it. If I don't like the result, I could try again (perhaps bid a little higher or raise the * level) for the second night. Needless to say, I won't subject the family to endless hotel-hopping...but I wonder what your opinion is, of this strategy?
  22. Guess I should've started lower, because this was accepted on first try. But, I'm happy about it! Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link of course, as always.
  23. This wasn't a Priceline win, but a "Miami Spice" promotion. See http://www.ilovemiamispice.com/offers.htm. Possibly in combination with their steeply discounted rates for the construction. We plan to be outside by their fabulous pool and beach, so the interior construction should not matter...I hope. Moderator, feel free to move or remove this post, but this is such a bargain for the Loews, I wanted to share. That place is opulent! So far, no luck going up to $115 on Priceline for a 4-star for the same stay And, the Hotwire options for less than $130 are not that appealing. King rooms on this special started at $125, I sprung for $135 for ocean view.
  24. You are so lucky, the Mayfair is fantastic! Amazing location. Stayed there two years ago. We parked on the street; not easy to do, because we had to move the car, but saved a lot over the valet fee.
