I am very much looking forward to this stay. I was surprised to get this property since the best rate I could find for it elsewhere is $289 per night. The resort fee goes up to $20 per night on October 1st, but I had already accounted for something in that range and was expecting to have to pay more for the room.

zbyenye, Thanks for the tips. I figured it wasn't the greatest location for the touristy stuff, but for the price I can't complain too much. We plan on using the bus to get around. We only need a car for the weekend in San Jose, so I think we'll return our rental car when we get to San Francisco so the parking won't be an issue. The money saved will pay for a lot of bus or cab fare.

We needed to add an additional room for 9/29-10/01 and another room for 9/30-10/01. We were able to get the same rate of $36 per night for the 9/29-10/01 stay, but the 9/30-10/01 took $45 per night to win. Luckily we got the same hotel for all three wins.

The only drawback to this hotel is that they want $43 / night for parking, although that seems typical of most of the hotels in the downtown area. I guess we'll have to investigate other parking possibilities.
