  1. Priceline Win: Sheraton Washington North 3.5* $61 per night Sep 12-14 I checked Hotwire first and they had 3.5* in College Park for $71 which was up from $68 when the strategy was planned. I bid Priceline 3.5* College Park at $56 first (I adjusted the strategy up by $3 to compensate for Hotwire going from $68 to $71). Rejected Added re-bid zone 1 and re-bid at $61. Win! ($73 after fees) Thanks Better Bidding!
  2. The goal is the least expensive 3.5* in College Park. Because Hotwire has a 3.5* in College Park at $68 I'm hoping to not go over $68 on Priceline. If I can't get College Park 3.5* on Priceline less than $68 I should probably take the 3.5* on Hotwire for $68. Do Priceline and Hotwire have the same fees? For example on Priceline if the price is $68, there are another $15 or so of fees in addition. Does Hotwire have a similar fee? If none of that works I would go up to $100 for 3.5* in College Park. If I can't get the 3.5* in College Park, I would add Greenbelt 3.5* up to $100. If both failed at 3.5* I would drop to 3* in College Park to $100 first and if that failed add Greenbelt at 3* to $100. Thanks!
  3. Completed the follow up for the San Diego thread. Looking forward to more success on this thread. Thanks.
  4. I bid on North County Coastal 2.5* at $90 and hit for Morgan Run which is a 3*. It worked out well. Thanks for the strategy!
  5. I need help on a bidding strategy for a 3.5* in College Park, MD (1st choice) or Greenbelt, MD (2nd choice). Checking in 9/8 and out 9/10 (2 nights). It's been a while since I bid and want to check that the re-bid strategy is still the same. College Park 3.5* has 5 re-bid zones and Greenbelt 3.5* also has 5 re-bid zones. What would be the best strategy for bidding these. FYI Hotwire has a 3.5* in College Park for $68
  6. Those aren't acceptable hotels. Let's drop 2* and instead have 2.5 as the lowest star. Thanks.
  7. I'm interested in a room for one night 8/17 in either North County Coastal, San Diego Coastal or Sorrento Mesa. The room can be 2* or higher. My motivation is the lowest priced room in any of the three zones. I would prefer North County Coastal first, then San Diego Coastal, then Sorrento Mesa. The higher the star, the better. However, those are not the main factors. The lowest price room 2* or higher in any of the 3 zones is the motivation. I can also add a second night to the strategy 8/18 if that extends the strategy but would prefer one night on 8/17. Thanks!
  8. Used the strategy that betterbidding.com helped me with and got a good win. Thanks!
  9. The goal is the least expensive, highest rated in any of the zones. Slight change to the scenario above: Only two zones now: Zone 1st choice = Del Mar Rancho Zone 2nd choice = North County Coastal (I'm dropping San Diego Coastal) Dates are now 6/27-7/2 but can shorten the stay to accommodate the strategy and then rebid for the additional dates. Thanks!
  10. Nice Hotel. Good Price. Use Marriott rewards number for free internet in room, otherwise they charge (but check bill because they may add it and will remove it if asked with reward number) Parking is $25 a night (brutal - almost 50% addition to room cost)
  11. Not a great hotel. It's on the beach but the beach is very narrow here. It's way far north on the Ft Lauderdale Beach at 41st Street. Most of the guests at the hotel seemed to have many people staying in each room so it's overly busy and used. This is the first time this hotel has hit for me in the Ft Lauderdale Beach zone. I'm kind of surprised and disappointed that it is included in that zone as it's not near Ft Lauderdale central beach. It's far north at the boarder of Galt Ocean Mile and Lauderdale by the Sea in an area that has a huge amount of 70's style high rise hotels and condos (this is one of them) on a narrow beach. Not that cool.
  12. Hello, I need a little bidding help for San Diego. Here are the details of what I'm trying to do: Dates: 6/25-6/28 (I could shorten it to 6/25-6/27 or 6/25-6/26 to accommodate strategy and then rebid the extra dates - also don't mind changing hotels) Would prefer the following zones in this order: 1st. Zone 2 (Del Mar Rancho Santa Fe) 2nd. Zone 16 (San Diego Coastal) 3rd. Zone 12. (North County Coastal) Would like the highest star rating I can get down to 2.5 minimum Budget $80 per night Thanks for help in building a strategy. Let me know if you need any more info. I saw some recent wins for 3* Doubletree in Del Mar/Rancho for $53, 3* Empress Hotel of La Jolla for $75 and 4* Hilton Torrey Pines for $90 (a little over my budget but great hotel). A hotel or deal like one of these would be great, especially the 3* Doubletree in Del Mar. Thanks again.
  13. First bid $55 for 3*, won this 4*, may have overbid. Note - self parking is $25.
  14. First bid $65 and won, may have overbid. Note - self parking is $21.
