  1. Happy with this as they offer free parking, local area shuttle and breakfast Hmmmm funny thing ... by accident I clicked on the wrong dates and bid the week before and got accepted. I called customer service to explain and they were nice enough to give me a chance to correct the problem as one of their famous "one time exceptions". BUT and this is a big BUT ... I had to follow a specific set of rules which inluded: - have to bid the same zones and may add a zone but can not delete one - may not increase the star level just keep the same or lower it - can not decrease the price just increase - must start bidding withing 48 hours - must change either the check-in date, check-out date or both Man, that was incredible and plus, after bidding Boston, I had no idea which zones I had added in my free bids. It turns out, they knew and told me after I sent my confirmation that I had not included all the required zones BUT as a "one time exception" they pardoned me. Oh yeah, I had to lose just the PL processing fee.
  2. Got upgraded from a 2.5* bid. Glad to see this hotel accpeting during week days and not just on weekends. I tried it up and down the month of June and it is not accepting ... even though it is available on Hotwire. In fact, Hotwire has umpteen hotels available in NJ and not one of them is taking my PL bids for long stays. Hotwire is at least $10-$20 more though. Hotwire's system amazes me ... I tried for a vacation in Whitler, BC and lets say the price was $950 for 10 days at a great hotel .. by extending the days up to even 16, 20 ... the price hardly budged (added about $100 at the most). I will fiddle around some more after my exams finish.
  3. This is a real treat .... HGI is probably my favorite hotel brand. They train the staff to know each guest's name and treat you like you're a CEO. Even with the basic Hilton Honors membership they give you $5 towards their pantry per day plus a breakfast coupon. Free water and the odd time, they have started offering cookies too. Taxes indicate $35 is the lowest amount ... BUT clearly this is only available on the weekends as I bid like crazy trying for it for more days and eventually had a bid go through upgrading me to the Hyatt.
  4. Taxes indicate priceline paid $35 but I tried it and nothing up to $40!!! I stayed here last year ... nice hotel BUT in the middle of nowhere really, about an hour from the city. I hoped for the 2* Hampton Inn but nothing doing. Radissons are comfortable and clean BUT just have no perks to offer like breakfast, business centers, free water, grandness like Hiltons or Hyatts that are also 3*. I have four Radisson bookings this summer mixed in with many others .... I hope they are enjoyable. Hmmmmm, I will try for their affinity program and see what that gets me.
  5. This hotel is on my short list of places I must stay at ... which includes Quebec's Ice Hotel as number 1. I flew right past this hotel in Atlanta and just couldn't imagine the view one would have watching the planes from so close ... it is pratically on the runway. I read that they have special windows blocking out the sound.
  6. This is a great location ... ten minutes from downtown, and right on a highway (DVP) so that you can zip off to wherever you want to go. Free parking, nice lobby, restaurant and piano bar. Never stayed in a room though, I got this for a friend. There is however, nothing withing walking distance in terms of shopping or restaurants, but buses run right in front of the hotel ... and even though on the highway, it is still in a very secluded, scenic spot.
  7. Got this awhile ago ... great location near Harmon Mills shopping plaza with many many restaurants including Burger King, Outback, Chi Chi's, Sizzler, Subway +++ and a movie theatre all within walking distance. It is also a hub of about 15 different hotels. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel with a NJT bus going back and forth to NYC port authority.
  8. Booked this for some friends... last minute bid. Based on the taxes, looks like $30 is the bottom.
  9. Leaving tomorrow by train, than subway, than train .... The town is supposed to be really nice and the hotel is located in the Theatre district with lots of shops and restaurants around. I will definitely put up a review of this one as it is a great 'close to New York' alternative and two blocks from the train going straight to Manhattan.
  10. I am looking forward to this and I love Princeton ... amazing town.
  11. I have stayed here before and the hotel used to be pretty shabby ... BUT it has been undergoing renovations so it should be better. Beautiful lobby though ... very grand.
  12. Cheapest deal around Boston it seems!!! BUT they only accept on weekends or for my dates anyway!!!
  13. I couldn't get anything cheap in Boston so I decided to split the trip and take the cheapo Radisson in Woburn and get this for my other 3 nights. I am extremely flexible and am just avoiding paying rent in NYC as I only have to be there 2 nights a week. I will spend the rest of the week in different cities!!!
  14. I find hotwire.com to be a great guage on pricing. For your date, they have a 3.5* for $47 downtown and the same relative pricing appears if you look at April. That means that on your day, there should be great deals BUT your just have to wait till Priceline gets inventory as thereuare suggested. I bet you if you keep trying the $27 you will eventually get it. South Beach (south) has a 3.5* listed in April for $24 and it is in the $40's for August. You may want bid that zone to test the waters. OR continue waiting as that price too is sure to come down.
  15. From everyone I know, Canadian Master Cards work every time with the special zip code and as Willtravel posted, you actually MUST put your real address into lines 1 and 2 with your real phone number in the profile section. The country and fake zip are your choice ... Seattle, WA 99999 for me. Canadian VISA cards for the most part all do not work. Even a US dollar CIBC VISA is rejected.
  16. The Miami Hyatt Regency goes for $27 and with the savings, you could have lobster for breakfast. You will have to check on the shuttle bus though. To sum up Priceline though, you will find that it the real deal is in being able to get 3* and 4*'s for such low prices that often, we don't see many 2*/1*'s even come up.
  17. I have a friend that books many rooms for work in Victoria through Priceline... Apparently, the lowest price for a 3* in Victoria is $43 for the Laurel Point Inn ... however there is a 2*/2.5* in the airport zone (I can't remember exactly what he got) for $27 or $28. The 4* Fairmont Empress takes $83.
  18. This is a lesson we all learn but are so greatful for. My first bid, I paid $45 for a Radisson that based on taxes should have been $32.
  19. Hi, I was the one that got the BW for $30/night. I would suggest dropping to 2* and trying for a hotel that was recently posted here .... 2* Seattle (Downtown) Inn at Queen Anne. They charge $10 for parking which is cheaper than most hotels, they also have a good review and offer free breakfast. The Best Western is a rare exception that has free parking BUT is not as nice as the Queene Anne which used to be rated higher!!! Looks cozy!!! Otherwise, the cheapest 3* I have seen downtown goes for $40+++ If you do not mind staying out of downtown, there is a magnificent 3* Hyatt in Bellevue that goes for $29 on weekends. The parking is $12 and this is a great hotel... surrounded my extravagent malls, shops etc. Tacoma, 35 minutes away has a 3* Sheraton (great water view or Mt. Ranier view depending on which side you pick) that goes for $29 and has free weekend parking on the street. It is a must for one night of your stay.
  20. I'm still trying to find away to use PL/UK with a US or Canadian credit card that bonus money offer looks way too good!!!
  21. This is an exception deal/hotel and beats the Hyatt Bellevue/Seattle, WA which goes for $29. I will have to book a trip to Florida just to enjoy this hotel (flights are normally really cheap too). I also plan to stay a couple nights at the new 4* Rennesaince Plantation In Ft. Lauderdale which goes for $40.
  22. I bid this for some friends from Sweden. First choice the 2.5* MTS Murray Hill Suites which sleeps 4 people and usually goes for $60. Than tried two rooms with many last minute bids up to $85 for 4*. Finally, got this hotel which looks amazing BUT can not accomadate 4 people. So we bid another room and ended up with a different hotel. I was just there to visit ... the front desk person said the Priceline customers usually come down screaming after seeing their room. They try and upgrade as much as possible BUT even still, the slightly bigger room is very small. They also used to get many PL customers but it has greatly reduced ... perhaps because so many other hotels have dropped their acceptance rates as we have seen. This hotel offers free cappucinno 24 hours a day, a designer bottle of water at check-in, a glass of wine, free choice of 50 latest DVD's and over 100 CD's for their in-room DVD players and they also offer free internet in the rooms. In the morining, they have a selection of pastries and free papers.
