  3. Pet Friendly Fitness Center Restaurants Business Center Internet Access Accessibility for Deaf Accessible path of travel In Room accessibility Accessible Bathroom 95% recommended 4* Downtown Area Booked through the site for 3 Nights Downtown on "Secret Hot Rate Bid" I'm more than happy with the price,as I usually book through Hilton as a HHon Gold Holder, but prices are through the roof with the Boston Red Sox playing 3 Inter League Games on the days booked....All Hilton Hotels I looked at in the area( and nearby suburbs) offering 3* upwards come nowhere near...and the 5* given for location was a give away with my thoughts being either the Westin or Omni Penn.. I will be staying in the suburbs prior to moving Downtown and will be using Hotwire or Priceline to book 3 nights upon arrival when I land & will be looking to stay near the Airport... Great Site....

I've stayed twice before and a big saving on the $111 ( ex tax ) non-refundable they ask if you book through the Hyatt website Very Happy with this as breakfast is great and a dependable shuttle service..
  5. 12 Night Trip November 7 -19th with 10 Nights booked already and free Cancellations ( 3 @ Eastside Cannery and 7 @Hilton Grand Vacations on the Strip ) I thought I would book early for the final 2 nights and went for a 4* Strip North...85% recommendation....with a $25 Resort Fee on offer at $56 per night... Very Happy with my bid and was guessing either TI or Mirage and delighted at the Price The bid was from your site. 7. $204 for 2 Nights includes tax and fees.. Pretty happy with this as I'm over for Thanksgiving and with the Steelers playing the Ravens on the day before ( Sunday 18th ) I found it a few dollars more than the Red Roof Inn.. Booked from the Site today
  8. Hi Spiked--Newbie here On Hotwire if you click on "Show Me " they give an indication of how much "Resort Fees" are ( if there are any ) and this may help before actually buying.
  9. I got the Westin in Pittsburgh ( off this site ) at a BIG discount and there was no prejudice about PRICELINE / HOTWIRE buyers /bidders as some seem to think..20th of 24 floors from memory. Congratulations I will be bidding for a 3.5 /4* in mid August for the last nights of my September vacation
  10. "Just a warning for those of you trying to name your own price for a hotel at Priceline- I looked for all of the areas that didn't have 4 star hotels in Vegas to help me make more bids. Summerlin came up as an area with no 4 star hotels, but when I added that area, I won a room at JW Marriott in Summerlin. I'm guessing there is no way out of it, and am a bit bummed because I was bidding to get on the strip. I looked again and it is still listing no 4* in Summerlin, so I am not sure what I did wrong, but wanted to warn others that this may not be the best method as they are apparently ok with having incorrect information on their site." "Although in the star rating hierarchy 'Resort' properties are in between 4* and 5* (so should be viewed as 4.5* properties), on PRICELINE's bidding page they list Resort at the bottom of the star ratings. If you look under 1* in the list you're viewing you'll see the Resort option listed (and when you click Summerlin you'll see that there are resort class properties in this zone... as you now know)" ......................................................................................... This was posted on July 4 and the Gentleman was under the impression he was OK bidding in an area where there were there were no 4*.. The replies may help you achieve what you are looking for.. Priceline Las Vegas Good Luck
  11. I saw on Hotwire over the last few days a hidden offer of $67 for a 3.5* Strip South Hotel( Still there now ) and was ready to "buy" after "bid again " on Priceline bids . Having slept on it overnight I decided to give PL one more go ,just sticking to the North & South Strip area's,starting with bids for 4 * then went down to 3.5* & upped a dollar which got me the Luxor ( which I wanted ) and saved me $5 a night..I'm aware of Resort fee's but am delighted as this is for 7 nights in just under 3 months time.. I've read about asking for upgrades and will try and report back, though I have an extra 2 nights more so will book at the Hotels rate of $50 and cancel if the rooms not up to much....(not a a threat ) and hoping to charm the Luxor into getting a high up Mountain View Room on the West Side..."with or without the $20 trick" Obtained through the site's PRICELINE link... Many thanks BB
  12. Thanks Aaron and will sleep on it tonight and maybe book tomorrow and can always try for an upgrade..and as well as using the site will inform if booked.
  13. Looking for a room for my 9th trip to Vegas and HOTWIRE is offerin a 3.5 * Hotel on South Strip for $68. I booked with this site last year and got a great 4* hotel in Pittsburgh( the Westin ) with a 3.5* buy. I think this may be the Luxor as a resort fee is mentioned...which would not bother me...nor the 60% rating reviews. 7 Nights September 16-23 is the dates . Any help in identifying appreciated Facilitues include 3.5-star Hotel in The Strip - South This Hotel features the following amenities: Resort Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Free Internet Roll-in shower Bathroom has a roll-in shower
  14. Just to update the treatment I got from 2 HW and 1 PL bids.. Nov 2011...I got the Sheraton in Station Sq Pittsburgh for 8 nights through HW and found no prejudice and no complaints for the Price I paid HW,even though I did not get a room with a view, though the room met the standards ...even if the facilities like Dining was very expensive( so dined out ) May..2012..5 Nights in Pittsburgh at the 4*Westin for $90 and 8 Nights the 3.5* Downtown Marriott bought through Priceline....The PL bid was for 3* and the HW offered the same but HW gave me two more star rating...GREAT Hotels and no prejudice even though I mentioned at the Westin that I got it through HW..In fact BOTH gave me rooms with great views and the Westin gave me a room on the 20th floor..Minor frustration at being charged for internet use in the business Centre at the Westin and only told on arrival.. Definitely no prejudice and both good hotels this year and no complaints about last years bid.. I'm in the UK and use this site...and looking as I write to book for Las Vegas in September..
  15. Very surprised to get this in May & will try in a week or two for another 5 nights on this coming trip near the City centre and use the PRICELINE & HOTWIRE links. Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Regards
  16. I tried on Priceline without luck bidding up to $80 ( 3* & 2.5*) for Downtown,University Centre &North Shore for 7 Nights this coming May, but had no luck & did the same story with Hotwire. I got the hotel for 5 nights at $90 pn off Hotwire and I'm delighted,as I was thinking it may have be Sheraton St Sq or Wyndham Grand( both good),and as I do not drive it's perfect.
  17. That's an area I would have considered and looks a great deal.I've only stayed in Greentree twice and both times at the Best Western just up the road, and if you like Italian food then there's an Olive Garden less than a mile away. I'm in the UK and a bit wary of bidding for Greentree as the UK Priceline have the Clarion (ex Holiday Inn I believe) listed as 3 *,whilst the US Priceline has it as 2.5*...and after reading the reviews of the Clarion it puts me off due to location..The same reason I'm wary of bidding for anything less than 3.5* for Pittsburgh Airport as the Priceline US Carefree Hotel is listed as 1* whilst the same hotel is listed as 3* by Priceline UK .I did though take a chance on my last trip in May for the last night and got the 3* Courtyard by Marriott for
  18. I read it and a good post GJC53 and have had upgrades by just being polite ,patient and courteous and will be interested to see how you get on with your next trip.I'm not expecting a free upgrade for 7 nights at the Sheraton but you may get one for 2 nights. The best upgrade I ever got was on a flight from Philadelphia to London Gatwick on the way back from Vegas when the flight was overbooked by 7 people and volunteers were asked for with an offer of a $650 voucher for a future flight ,with the flight going via Manchester ( UK ) 2 hours later then on to Gatwick arriving some 4 hours later..The poor US Airways clerk was harassed by others and I was the only one to volunteer and when I got to the desk she"upgraded" me to "Envoy" without asking as I had gave her respect and was just polite. Enjoy PNC Park and the best advice apart from being able to take your own food in( i always take a 12" Subway) is to take the ballpark tour if you have not done it..only $5 and they tour at 10am or noon on night games with 10am being the best as you get a look inside the batting cage..
  19. Congratulations CJC53 and I got 7 nights at $80 in November from this priceline winning bid. I have 5 days before I arrive so may well try using your method nearer the time Upgraded to Club Level I was told is $30 and gets you a continental breakfast with a better room and Hors d'oeuvre between 5 and 10 pm in the club level...may try it when I read some reviews to see if it's worth it.
  20. I stayed at two Priceline won Hotel bids and encountered no problems.. I had 2 bids accepted for the Wyndham Garden University Place in Pittsburgh in May..7 Nights and then 2 Nights( two separate bids) and the Front Desk was very nice and just said "we do offer rooms on Priceline" and gave me a room on the 7th floor of Nine. I booked a last night at the Courtyard by Marriott near the Airport and nothing was said & although the room was at the end of two corridors it was of the standard that you would expect from Marriott and the front desk were great for other matters. I was in Texas last September and stayed with friends in Dallas for one night at the Hilton Garden after they booked two rooms for $40 per night and I got a great room on the 5th floor.. I'm staying at the Sheraton this November and will report here my experiences..
  21. Agree and enjoyed a 7 Night stay there and no reaction when I told them I was booked through Priceline. Hotel offers a great breakfast for about $11 and has great staff when there in May this year I've heard about the parking ( valet ) and costs but as a person from the UK who does not drive it was not a problem as buses run from Downtown till around 11.30pm and Oakland is a great place. Affordable parking can be found about 200 yards away past the gas station ( Xenon ) and 1st right after that ( about 200 yards and well advertised) and was $5 from 4 pm onwards all evening ( PCP from memory) CVS 24/7 store behind the Hotel for things left behind & not packed A Great place and servic to match and wish I had gone for it on this trip but wanted a pool and hot tub in Nov,neither of which the Wyndham had alas.. Highly recommended.
  22. Many thanks and a great Forum. I was at the Wyndham Garden in Oakland in May and was impressed after my 1st try with Priceline last year, and visit Pittsburgh twice a year. I bid on Priceline
