  1. Sorry Busch Gardens is where we are going and I know its a zone but only has a few hotels there. So I was looking to maybe get a nice hotel There are 4* in TPA West and TPA South - I tried last night but it was an epic fail :(
  2. Yeah it was expeida I saw it listed as a 3. honestly .5 of a star isnt going to make too much of a difference I have read some forums and everyone who has stayed at the property has enjoyed it!
  3. The list is a guideline and can't possibly keep up with every change its hardly anything to get angry about the Radisson Hotel Orlando - International Drive is a nice property! Call up the hotel direct to ask about resort charges. and I would also ask about star rating I can only see it being listed as a 3 star!
  4. Hi I am looking for 2 nights in Tampa either Nr Busch gardens or a 4star in Tampa. Looking to spend no more then 69.00 per night -- looking at Jan 11-13th Not sure how realistic this is I tried tonight and got rejected. went up to 58 but only at a 4 star level.
  5. Thanks does help we have had a lot of rethink to this and giving miami a miss sticking with the gulf coast.
  6. Thanks I will have a look at Fort Lauderdale as well I think hubby was hoping to catch a glimpse at someone famous lol.
  7. Thanks! Yeah Im a Momma so I bring the kitchen sink! We are renting a car anyway... Basically my husband has NEVER been to Florida -- he has rarely been into the USA.. So like when we went to NY he just wanted to do the "tourist thing" We are flying in and out of Orlando so Orlando- Tampa Bay- Naples- Miami- back to Orlando He wants to see what he sees on TV lol. So im guessing that is miami beach? We are looking for nice beach and somewhere just to relax build some sandcastles. Does that make sense? -- Also rather have a nicer hotel so that if the weather is crap we can do a lot of swimming etc at the hotel :) (LOVED the westin in Jersey!)
  8. OK, so looking at the links above and the areas would you say its worth spending the extra to stay on Miami Beach? I am a bit confused about miami beach is it like a wee island connected with a bridge or? And if thats the case which it looks like is it better just to travel there and stay "main land"
  9. ok did that not sure why lol.. but I clicked on the HOTWIRE link :)
  10. Need some help with this area, working my way through the holiday Id like to stay somewhere easy to get to the beach or at least like Jersey city easy to get around if that makes sense? any tips or prices at the moment I know I could get Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale Weston for 45.00 per night but I dont know enough about the area or that location to know if its what I want. Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Plantation for 79.00 Any suggestions?
  11. Thanks I will start different threads -- Ideally somewhere central we will have a car so somewhere that I can easily get around or close walking distance to sights. Price wise im willing to go 60-80 per night. I generally go PRICELINE -- our kid is small only a toddler so he shares a bed most days anyway I am willing to do one bed. prefer 3.5* +
  12. Thanks yes hes easy to please :) any tips on what I should be trying for 4* in those areas?
  13. Ok so I think we are going to give Disney a miss because A) the cost of it is just crazy and B) because the wee man is only 2 almost 3 hes not going to remember it enough to warrant the 1k we'd have to spend. I would still like to do some nice things with him so all suggestions welcome but here is a bit of a "plan" FLORIDA: January 9th - 17th 2012 8nights Orlando 9th - 11th Lego Land (during that time) Tampa Bay 11th-13th -- is there stuff to do here? Naples?? 13th -- I am just looking for a place to break up the driving-- if Naples isn't any good please suggest another place! Miami 14-16th Orlando 16th (night before we take off.) Ideally I would like to stay in a nice area - 3-4* would be good. Any tips or opening bids etc would be great!
  14. Thanks did you do the disney thing ever?
  15. So I did Daytona when I was 17... and I drank some very good beer (or was that a simpson episode.. hrm) ANYWAY. Im booking the family flying from Manchester UK to Orlando. I am a Canadian so I try to show them a bit of the States when I can. (thanks to all who helped with Jersey!) SO we are travelling Jan 9th-17th thinking of doing a disney thing but choked when I saw the tickets were 430.00 GBP! (2 adults one child whos just under 3 at time of travel!). Any ideas? wouldn't mind staying and doing a disney thing for a couple of days but would maybe like to do a Miami thing for the beaches? Suggestions open I know im in good hands :)
  16. I just stayed at the Westin last week-- word of the wise DON"T eat there... For breakfast you can go behind the hotel there is a grocery store with a dunkin donuts... OR there is a FAB deli well 2 actually one near the path station-- and one in the mall beside the hotel. There is also an amazing Cuban restaurant for late meals. if you want a lil treasure in NYC, head over to BEACON restaurant (chef Waldy malouf) he has a book and is very very good. All summer he has on his 35.00 3 course menu its FAB the oysters are to die for.!!! 23 W56
  17. I used the PRICELINE links and me and Priceline were making love to eachother for over 2 hours before I FINALLY got a price I was happy with. Hotwire was offering the same deal for 155.00 so I feel like I have done well!
  18. Ok Drama Solved going to leave canada the 17th drive to Elmira.. then to Jersey City the 18th - so I can book 18-20th.Saw it on Hotwire for 155.00 ! Trying priceline now. (*4)
  19. Im I correct in guessing when I bid 135 and priceline says if im willing to go to 165 they will let me bid again its going to be a winner?
  20. Thanks all though ive clicked the boards links like 100 times over the past few days sorting it out :) thank you BB!
  21. Hi the water isn't really relevant in Toronto and isn't close to the city centre, properties like the fairmont (AMAZING) and even the novotel are all good options! (Fellow Torontoarian!)
  22. Hiya, I thinkthis is how we want to play it... Night of the 19th (day before we leave) in the city for the experience, like I said my husband wants to take a photo of times square, do the WTC thing, and see the statue.. and some shopping what area for hotels should we be looking at? Id like something with some comfort. Some hotels I know of but im not sure about their location: (if you have any insight that would be fab!) HI NYC Wall street right now that rate is 173.40 HI SOHO- 233.00 But im hoping to use priceline to get something better. Any suggestions? As for the night before the 18th we are worrid about driving from basically Canada to Jersey what the traffic etc would be like maybe we would be best to stop somewhere outside and travel in the next day? --- Thoughts?
  23. For People in the Uk where I live now ( I am Canadian) they sell more tickets in july for NYC then any other time! but for locals no its not high seaon.
