  1. Thank you so much for the suggestions and insights for the trip! As far as hotels, I was getting ready to book either the Hotel Indigo or W Hotel. But unfortunately, at least in the sense that I'm asking more feedback of you, it looks like our dates are having to be shifted to later in the week due to childcare for our 3 kids. Looking at my new dates of 3/30-4/1, I no longer see Hotel Indigo (that I'm aware of). I think I've identified the W Hotel and then I listed a couple of other low priced 4*s and threw in a 3* just for the heck of it since it was priced so low and had a 100% recommended rating. These were Hotwire via the Bidding Helper link. thank you! DATES - 3/30-4/1 4.5* - World Trade Center - Wall Street $95 (W Hotel Downtown?) 2. Thanks for the info! yeah, all of them are of interest. I'm definitely interested in the area of Hotel Indigo & I had some concerns about staying as south as Wall Street, but obviously you recommend that area so that's good to know. thanks, I really appreciate it. This gives me some great options!
  3. It's for the listed room rate (not including taxes/fees). thanks!
  4. My apologies for not using the BiddingHelper tool ) - I didn't realize all amenities weren't being shown now. I'll certainly do that in the future and can do that on these as well. We are trying to stay below $130....ideally around $110 & willing to go a little above $130 if needed. My wife and I will be in town for 2 nights just for a getaway. We will catch a broadway show on one night and the rest of the time we'll just hit some of the popular things to see, walk the Brooklyn Bridge, etc. I guess I intentionally picked hotels from a few different areas just to see if one hotel stood out above the rest. We're fine to use the subway to get around, so it's not critical that we stay in the heart of everything, but don't want to stay too far away since our time will be limited. I don't think we want to stay in Times Square and not sure about the other midtown areas. I thought we might like to stay out of the fray in a more local/quaint neighborhood like Greenwich/East/West Village or Chelsea as long as we still had easy and quick access to get into the midtown stuff, but didn't see as many options in the price range. And we're not married to that idea...I don't think we want to stay in Times Square, but other that we're not opposed more midtown, upper or even wall street areas if that's the better option. I'd absolutely welcome your opinion on any of the areas. thank you!
  5. I'm trying to ID a handful of hotels in a few different areas of NY for the dates of March 26-28, 2017 on Hotwire. Any of these that you can comment on would be much appreciated. thanks! 4* Boutique Hotel in Midtown East -- 85% recommended $109 Business centerFitness centerRestaurant(s)Smoke-free rooms 4.5* Boutique Hotel in World Trade Center -- 90% recommended $109 Boutique hotelBusiness centerChildren's activitiesFitness centerInternet accessPet friendlySelf-service laundrySmoke-free rooms 4* New to Hotwire Hotel in Lower East Side Village area - 75% recommended $111 Free Internet Amenities Business centerFitness centerRestaurant(s)Smoke-free rooms 4* Boutique in Lower East - East Side Village - 80% recommended $113 Free Internet Amenities Business centerFitness centerPet friendlyRestaurant(s)Smoke-free rooms 4* Boutique Hotel in Upper East Side Area - 70% recommended $110 Boutique hotelBusiness centerFitness centerInternet accessPet friendlyRestaurant(s)Self-service laundrySmoke-free rooms
  6. I'm sorry, I don't guess I ever gave a final confirmation on what I found out, but yes, I did end up with Planters Inn. thank you!
  7. ok, thanks! I think I'll go ahead and do the one on HOTWIRE that appears to be the Planter's Inn. Before confirming it, however, there is one more 3 1/2* on Priceline Express that I'm curious about it if you have a chance to comment on it. Though I'd find out what it is and then do it. it's 31/2* - $167 -- Savannah District Riverfront Area Hotel - business center, free internet, pool, fitness - bed choice --- is this Marriott Riverfront or Hyatt Regency? thanks!
  8. And there's several 3 & 3 1/2 on Hotwire & Priceline that intrigue me, but just have no clue which one's they might be & I hate to keep asking for each one. Bummer that the PI disappeared right before I tried to book last night. Thanks for you help.
  9. Unfortunately, when I went to book last night the $134 (presumed Planters Inn) was no longer there. I'm very comfortable with PI, but hesitant to bid on the others without knowing what they might be. I guess the only other one's on the Priceline Express or Priceline that I have a good idea on is the Staybridge and 17hundred90...prefer not to do Staybridge if possible. If you have a chance to look again and see anything that is likely Planters Inn, please let me know. Or if any other 3 or 3 1/2 start besides Staybridge. thank you!
  10. ok, I sure will. As I look at it now on Priceline Express, the prices have changed, but I assume this one is still probably Planters Inn? -- it's 3 1/2 $134 - Savannah Historic District Riverfront Area - Business only There is also one other Riverfront listed on PRICELINE EXPRESS... 3 - $138 - Riverfront - business - indoor/outdoor pool - fitness - internet - restaurant. any guess on this one? thanks!
  11. Thanks for the quick response on the properties. Yeah, I'd definitely be interested in the Planters Inn at that price. I realize that you can only make your best guess, but are you pretty confident that the Priceline Express property of $134 (business only) is the Planters Inn? thanks!
  12. Thanks for your response. I apologize for not following up on the Asheville thread. We ended up booking at the Aloft on Biltmore St because it was important to us on that trip to stay in the downtown area. After you provide insight on the potential hotels, it appeared that most of those would be outside of the area we wanted to be in, so we paid a little more to make sure that were able to stay where we could walk to the places we wanted. Thanks for naming the hotels because otherwise we'd have probably bid on one of those only to be disappointed that we landed outside of the area we wanted to be. As far as this trip, the most important element is that we are in the Historic District for walking everywhere we want to go. We've bid before and landed at the Westin across the river which was fine and then we've booked a bed and breakfast before and stayed at the Marshall House. We mainly just want a nice, clean place in that area. The amenities that would be attractive to us, but not necessary, would be free parking, free breakfast and internet. Things like golf, fitness, laundry service, etc won't be things that we'll need this time around. thank you!
  13. Sorry, I obviously never reported how my Asheville stay turned out. I actually ended up just booking at the Aloft because it was important for us to stay downtown on that trip and it looked like the hotels we were looking at would likely be outside of the city area and require driving. So we just paid more and booked downtown. Thanks for taking the time to identify the hotels...that kept us from making a bid we would have ended up regretting if we had landed outside of the center area.
  14. Hello! My wife and I just found out we're going to be able to get a way for a couple of night's next week and so i'm scrambling to find a hotel. I realize that below is a huge list, basically all of the hotels that fall within our price range, so anything that you can offer is helpful. I don't expect you to review such a huge list, but thought there may be a few of these that at a glance or completely obvious to you the property and you'd be willing to share those. Any of them, however many or few, that you can comment on would be awesome. thank you! the Dates are Oct 6 - 8 From the PRICELINE EXPRESS link.... 1) 3 star - $138 -- Business Center, Restaurant, Indoor/Outdoor Pool, Fitness Center, Free Internet - bed choice available 2) 3 1/2 star - $148 - only lists Business Center From HOTWIRE link.... 1) 3 1/2 star - $189 - free internet, business center, golf nearby, restaurant, self-service laundry 2) 3 star - $170 - free internet, free breakfast, suite, business center 3) 3 1/2 star - $175 -- free internet, free breakfast , business center, self- service laundry, fitness center, restaurant, pool 4) 3 1/2 start - $191 -- free internet, free breakfast, boutique hotel, restaurant 5) 3 start - $132 -- free parking, free breakfast 6) 3 1/2 star - $155 - free internet, free breakfast, business center, boutique hotel, golf nearby 7) 3 star - $130 - free internet, suite, business center, indoor pool, golf nearby 8) 4 star - $187 - free internet, free breakfast, boutique hotel, pet friendly 9) 3 star - $151 - free internet, restaurant, business center, self service laundry
  15. Tomorrow, October 12 the initial post above is for a 3* that i've been looking at. I'm also now looking at a 2 1/2 * in Central Asheville listed at $162.00 on Hotwire. it amenities seem similar to the 3*. any help on Identifying the 2 1/2* & 3* would be greatly appreciated. Our date is tomorrow night, Friday, October 12th. It has.... indoor pool, fitness center, business center,high-speed internet access, accessible for the blind, free parking, free breakfast, accessible path of travel, in-room accessibility, accessible bathroom, handicap parking, roll-in shower
  16. Sorry for not including the date. It's actually tomorrow night, October 12th. thanks!
  17. Sorry for neglecting to follow up on my Boston win! Ended up with a $135 bid in the Quincy area....was Holiday Inn Beacon Hill as anticipated. we had a great stay.
  18. hello...I'm trying to identify which hotel this may be. It's listed as downtown and my guess is that it's one of the hotels on Tunnel Rd (Holiday Inn, Hampton, Country Inn, etc), but was hoping someone might be able to help. Here are the amenities listed. thanks~! Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Free Breakfast Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  19. I have bid up to $130 in Copley Square on a 3 1/2* and $120 or $125 on a 3* in Quincy. Honestly, we'd love to stay much closer to $100-$110, but not sure if that's doable on that week or not...I've been bidding for a month now. And like I said, I'd love to expand my search in Copley to 3*'s as well, but especially having my wife and 9 month old, and it being for 7 night's, i've been a little hesitant on the consistent negative reviews for Marriott Tremont (it seemingly being the most frequent 3* "win" in that area). I also realize that I could look outside of the Quincy/Copley areas, but I was hoping to limit the metro transportation as much as possible with an infant & at least being in walking distance of several things. Obviously, we'd still use the T, but just not having to get on it every time we went anywhere if we were outside of the main areas. thanks so much for you help!
  20. Hello! I will be vacationing with my wife & 9 month old in Boston & we were hoping to stay in the Quincy Market or Copley Square area. We wanted to stay with a 3* or 3 1/2 * if possible. It appears that most of the 3* bids in Quincy Market end up at Holiday Beacon Hill, which is fine... But so far I've only bid on 3 1/2* in Copley because it looks like the 3* motel most often received is Marriott Tremont (and it seems all the reviews I have seen on it are pretty rough). Does anyone have insight about the Marriott Tremont in Copley Square? I would love to bid on a 3* in Copley as well as Quincy, but with my wife & 9 month old, I'm just a little hesitant to commit to 7 night's if it's as bad as the reviews have indicated. Would love to hear from folks who have actually stayed there or have firsthand knowledge. thank you!
