  1. Just saw a pop up screen stating "book soon. the last person got the Westhouse new york" Is that a good deal for the westhouse? I wouldn't mind a 4& 1/2 if there are better deals thank you! these are the amenities that show after I hit the book button: Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business centerSelf-service laundry Internet access
  2. sorry about that 4/9 - 4/11 thank you looks like a great deal wherever it is
  3. 85% recommended , trip adviser 4.5 out of 5, Free internet , pet friendly , fitness center , restaurants , business center, self service laundry. Thank you

  5. Started bidding at $150. Using the multiple bid strategy I increased in increments of $5-$8 to $195 with no luck. I bid $200 and rec'd a counter offer of $233 which I refused. I re-bid 205 and won. In my experience whenever I've rec'd a counter offer I've always saved money by refusing the offer and re-bidding in $5 increments. In this case I saved $28. I linked in to PRICELINE via the better bidding link. Thank you
  6. Started bidding at $90. Increased bid 3-4 dollars each additional free bid adding other areas. At $100 bid I was counter-offered by Priceline ($125). Knowing there was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for Omni at $112 I refused the counteroffer. Won bid at $109. I was also looking at the Marriott Wardman Park which was actually more expensive for the same dates. Thank you for adding hotel listings for express deals. This has been very helpful in my research and bidding. Used the PRICELINE link on Better Bidding.com!! Incidentally, I've used better bidding strategies for multiple DC stays and always won the hotel I wanted in this area (Omni or Marriott) Thank you!!!!
  7. I'm currently holding a reservation for the Omni for mid March at $122.80 per night. Was wondering if I had a chance at getting the price lower by bidding on a 4 star in Dupont Circle area but I've not seen any recent wins for the Omni. I know I could get the Marriott Wardman Park for less money but I prefer not to stay there. I'd appreciate any advise or words of wisdom from my friends at betterbidding.com. Thank you
  8. Anyone know why Phoenix car rental prices have increased so much in the last year. February 2013 I booked a full size car for $14 a day on priceline. I've bid 27 dollars this year for the same dates and still can't "win" thank you
  9. Hi If you are visiting a resident of DC they can obtain a visiter pass for you free of charge which permits you to park for free in the zoned areas. I've attached the link for more information http://dc.gov/DC/DDOT/Services/Parking+Services/Visitor+Parking+Passes
  10. I just wanted to note that I called the hotel looking for some information. When the associate looked up my record she said "Oh you're a price line customer" as if I was the scum of the earth. I was treated with much disrespect after that. I was not asking for anything special like an upgrade as many people do. Just a few questions. I certainly feel like a second class citizen at this hotel and I'll write the corporate office in Bethesda. I would think they would be happy to have sites like price line filling their empty rooms and providing revenue.
  11. Linked to PRICELINE through betterbidding.com Started bidding at 65 added on other 3 and 2 star zones for additional free bids. Was offered a counter bid of 93 from PRICELINE which i refused. Got an additional 5% off the room rate (priceline coupon code "Summer"). Very happy with this win! Now if I could find a cheap place to park.....
  12. Starting bid process at $100 and through the free re-bidding process finally got a room for $140. If anyone has any advice on parking in the area I'd appreciate it. I hear the parking is expensive at the hotel. thank you
  13. bid multiple times. Got the usual offer to increase my bid to $80 which I declined. Took a week of rebidding everyday before they accepted my $65 bid. Fo those staying in Bethesda Center please note that the municipal parking garages are free after 10:00 on weekdays and free on Saturday and Sunday. No need to pay for hotel parking if you can take advantage of the municipal lots.
  14. Hyatt Regency Bethesda Bethesda, MD One Bethesda Metro CenterWisconsin Ave At Old Georgetown Rd, Bethesda, MD $65/night Fri, May 18, 2012 / -Mon, May 21, 2012 / I've been bidding for over a month and finally got a good price for U maryland graduation weekend. I had bid up to $85 a few weeks back and had no bites.
  15. Hi I had the same problem with the Parker House last month. I had called up in advance and found out about the room and was offered the same $50 upgrade option which I refused. The manager at the hotel said after I check in they could upgrade me for free if there is an available room. However, after talking to them I did not have any confidence that they would upgrade me for free. I called Price line customer service and they called the hotel manager who also would not budge on this. What I found interesting was that on the Parker House web site the rooms with the Queen bed were the same price as the smaller room. At my request Price line was able to get the Parker House to cancel my reservation and I was refunded (A miracle since they very rarely will cancel and refund a reservation). My suggestion for future reference is not to bid for the "Boston Common - Theater District. After Price Line canceled my Omni House reservation I bid and won a stay at The Ames Hotel (Quincy Market Financial District section). Unlike the Parker House, The Ames Hotel's customer service was great as is the hotel itself. They gave me a free upgrade.
  16. When I "win" a room on either HOTWIRE or PRICELINE I always call or email to see what type of room they assigned me. In this case I emailed them. Some hotels are really nice about accommodating requests such as bed type, floor, quiet area etc... The Ames did accommodate my requests and were very very nice. Some hotels are not so accommodating with special requests (I assume it's because of the good deals we get they treat you like a second class guest.
  17. Started bid at 75. Refused counter offers of 104 and won bid at $88. Be aware that the Omni room I received was the "Traditional" room 125 sq feet and one double bed.
  18. Forgot to mention that when I contacted the Ames hotel they upgraded my room at no charge to a "Superior" room.
  19. Thanks very much. The date of the reservation for the Ames is 1/7/12 - 1/9/12
  20. won a bid for the Omni Parker House for $88. They put us in a small room (125 sq feet) with a double bed. Called to ask for a queen size bed and they said it would cost $50 to upgrade. It took a little convincing on my part and I had to escalate it to a manager level but price line did cancel the reservation and refunded my money. After that I bid and won a room at the Ames A Morgan Hotel for $83. Started at 75 and price line came back with a counter offer of $99 which I did not accept. #12 in boston on trip adviser.com. Looks like a good property.
  21. Just won bid for 3 nights in August for $60 per night. I had tried multiple times for less than $60 and had many counter offers from price line to increase my bid to $70 or more. Since I had plenty of time I did not take them up on the offer. One question if any users out there can help out with. When we stay in at the Hyatt in Bethesda Center we are able to park for free in the public parking garage on weekends and overnight. This saves us at least $13 a night. The Marriott charges $12 a day for parking and it looks like there is no alternative but to pay and park in their lot. Is there any on-street parking available in the area? thanks Marriott Bethesda 5151 Pooks Hill Road Bethesda, MD 20814 Check-In: Thursday, August 25, 2011-04:00 PM Check-Out: Sunday, August 28, 2011-12:00 PM Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $60.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $180.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $36.06 (USD) Total Room Cost: $216.06 (USD)
