Bid $60, rejected added FRB zones and got accepted at $66 for two nights at the Tradewinds Island Grand. Used the PRICELINE links. Checked out today, received small room facing the courtyard with two doubles. Not bad for $66 but i wouldn't want to pay full price for this place...

Bid $41 was c/offered to add $9 waited 24 hrs and bid $45 today, accepted Hyatt Place Busch Gardens. Some sites have listed this property at 2.5 stars in the past but I will do a good review once I get there...

Bid 55 + 10 bonus cash, unsucessful added F-R/B zone bid 61 + 10 bonus got the Westin Imagine,. used the PRICELINE links... here now, nice property and rooms that looks new behind the convention center but the only shuttle is to Universal and parking is Valet only at $18 day. The area is pretty bare around it and you need a car if you get this one... I am told occupancy is very low here even on the weekends so this one may be popular on PRICELINE... If you want to go to Sea World I would try to go after the 3* zone and hope for the Hyatt which has come up a lot lately and is much more convienient to Sea World. dates are 6/13- thru 6/16, please edit the s/line, I must have hit the button too soon...

Tried $37 on Friday and was declined but was given counteroffer to add $11. Waited 24 hrs and a bid of $43 was accepted on the day of arrival. A bit of a gamble but I was confident splitting the difference of the counteroffer would work. Nice property with clean rooms but was given two doubles right by the stairwell, I went back to the desk and requested a king and was given a king room with no trouble. The breakfast is buffet and $7.95 and was a good value but there are plenty of restaurants nearby if you want something fast. Overall a great value for $43 plus tax...

Needed last minute room for car show bidding the same day. Tried $32 received counteroffer to add $9 Added rebid zone and $36 was accepted. Haven't seen any wins in the Lebanon zone and there are not many hotels in the area. Was thinking I would get the Comfort Inn or the Holiday Inn Express but I was floored when this one came up!! I would avoid this one as I don't see how it could be a 2* property. It's a former Shoney's inn that's being remodeled (if you could call it that...) Rooms were just ok but the property was shabby with graffiti on some of the outside windows. The guests (or renters) next to us were obviously living there as their kids were riding their "big wheels" up and down the aisles Sunday morning! I will definitely be complaining to P/line on this stay! As I said, its not the Hilton but it doesn't have a shared bath like the Pod and the stated budget of less than $100 doesn't give you many options. You can cut thru the shopping center across the street from the Holland to get to the Path train station. The area is not that great mainly due to the busy streets around the Holland Tunnel but the rooms I've got there were all ok and about 1-star or Econo-Lodge type quality. Since I am usually not in my room much when I go to NYC unless I am on a working trip and need to be close to a convention this is one of my options for a cheap place to stay. It's also one of the few properties where you can park your car for free around NYC.

We are going to NYC the exact same dates and rates are sky high all week! I've been trying for a P/line room for over two weeks and I have found nothing...If you can stand a motor lodge type property the Holland motor lodge has King rooms for $91 tax incl which is at least $100 less than anywhere I've found in Manhattan. I've stayed there before and the trip advisor reviews are generally good and you get a lite breakfast in the morning to boot. Its not the Hilton but its better than a lot of the Midtown budget properties. Access to the Path train into Manhattan is about a 5-7 min walk and the Holland tunnel is right by the property.

Dahammer is correct on Allegiant's fees for extra luggage and the like. I fly them all the time from PSP to LAS at $39 and sometimes even $19 specials. I would book the airfare on Allegiant online since your trip is a straight shot and make sure I packed appropriately. They are just a real budget no frills carrier and you don't get the "extras" like pretzels and pillows you have to pay dearly for on American or Delta. I would book a cancellable backup at the Venetian or your choice and bid away until the last minute hoping for an even better deal which I think you will get.

It would be of great help if you could post some of the conventional (regular rates from the hotel websites) rates for some of the "target" hotels. (hotels that have won in the past in your required zone) and we will formulate a strategy....If rates are high=low availability to PL and if they are low (sub 250)= higher opportunities for a win!!

Really wanted MTE or UM/CPS and bid all the way from 110 thru 150 then reopened p/l and bid my second choice MTW, finally scored and got the Hilton, Ave of America's. Did you bid MTW at 130 then add MTE at 140 or did you start from scratch at 110 and go from there?? By the way, I've stayed at the Barclay and its VERY NICE!! Some people are really picky, and would not be happy if you gave them the room!! I consider this to be one of the better properties in the MTE area and you should be fine.. Be sure to get a Priority Club membership if you don't have one as it may get you a few perks (or it may not...) If you have the Priority Club Rewards Visa it may get a upgrade (i've got upgrades a couple of times on Priceline but its about 50/50 at the Intercontinental properties.) It never hurts to ask!! Amenties are Suite Restaurant(s) Kitchenette My dates are 8/6 thru 8/8 and this property comes up at $163 which is not bad as we would need the extra room and the kitchen would be nice with 2 kids.....

Priceline can upgrade you if there is a property willing to accept the bid at any star level above the requested level if there is no availability at that price at the requested star level. There is no charge (or warning) for this and it can happen at any time!! This does not seem to happen much in New York, The Barclay is a very nice hotel and at $120.00 it's a real steal!!

After visiting the website and looking over the amenities and photos I find it hard to beleive this hotel is only priceline rated at a 2*!!! Are you sure you were not "involuntarily" upgraded to a 2.5* as the Seaport Suites was rated 2.5* previously on P/L.... Looks like a real steal for a 2* !!! I may actually try for this zone on my August trip since location will not be a factor as long as I can get subway access!!!

This facility is really how all Priceline stays should be. A nicely kept hotel in a accessible area. Everything from check-in to check-out a breeze. Rooms were clean, nice and linens appeared to be of good quality. Small but clean pool and hot tub-indoor that was excellent!!. Up to date fitness room. Free highspeed internet. Free parking. Complimentary coffee in room. A nice comfy chair and desk, along with another chair for reading. Adequate lighting but could have been better with the addition of an overhead fixture..Sink and bathroom were nice, clean with good counter space. A small frig, microwave, iron and ironing board provided. Very efficient staff, our check in was handled by Tamara who handled our requests quickly and with a smile. . No unnecessary noises. Good heating-a/c. Located just off I-75. Adequate shopping and restaurants close by, for breakfast try Panera bread (go under the interstate, its across from K-mart next to Kinko's) For dinner, try Cheddars, its highly recommended. and relatively modest in cost. While it's not a 4 star property, it's far better than most other properties I've stayed at for similar cost. The combination of nice staff with good accommodations at a bargain price makes for a relaxing stay!!

This is a nice well kept property located just off the interstate with other Marriott properties. Check-in was painless and request for non-smoking 2 doubles was granted with no problem. Front desk staff was extremely nice and even called later in the day to make sure everything was ok and see if anything needed to be done to make our stay more comfortable. Our room was in building 10 and was very clean and comfortable. As with other Res. Inns there is a half wall between an area with a sleeper sofa, chair, desk and efficiency kitchen and the bedroom area. The vanity/sink was outside the tub/shower/toilet area. Std size tv with good selection of channels. The pool was outside and clean. Bed was a excellent and linens appeared to be of excellent quality. There was a sleeper sofa and fresh linens were in the closet. Shower was fine with good pressure. Free breakfast the next morning had a good selection, waffles, fruit, eggs, potatoes, bacon and various juices and cereal. There is a kitchen with over the counter microwave, dishwasher, full size stove and fridge. The coffee maker was provided with ample coffee and popcorn and tea provided along with the coffee! Plenty of free convenient parking. No problems with climate control. There is free wired internet in the room. No unpleasant noises and this is a very safe area with lots of shopping and restaurants. Overall this was a huge Priceline bargain!! Dreamland BBQ is across the interstate and has some of the best ribs and Brunswick stew I've ever tried!!

Have you done anything?? At this late date and with the parameters you specify I think you should look to the Newark area and take the train into Manhattan (20-25 min) If you have a car Manhattan will kill you in parking fees. You may try a 2* in the MTW zone and hope for the Milford, its not bad but if you have a car I would look to the Jersey area as parking is much cheaper!! What do you consider ridiculously low?? The lowest we've seen hotels in the Midtown areas is $110-150 per night. That being a holiday weekend it may be tough.... I would try two rooms with 4 people in New York as many rooms are barely large enough for two unless you are really lucky and get a property like the Hilton....That being said getting two rooms for 250-300 per night may be possible....

Chen, I just got back from my visit there (checked out today, I paid $116 per nite) Was able to get a king n/s room on the 42nd street side. I don't know what your plans are but the little bakery up the street (Europan) has great breakfast sandwiches!! The room was great and the location cannot be beat!! Have a great stay at this fine property!! Note: The internet is 9.95 per day but there are a couple of spots closeby with free wireless if you look.
