Wasn't planning on booking this early for an April trip, but $52 for a 3.5* in downtown Toronto was just too darn good.

Note amenity change: Children's Activities is no longer shown (though this wasn't a surprise to me because I checked the vacation pkgs too). All other amenities are as per the betterbidding list (i.e. Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Spa).

Good deal at $46 for 1 night Aug. 7 (although taxes and fees add $13.70!). Rate per Expedia is $149.

Just got an e-mail from Hotwire saying that the La Quinta downtown SFO has changed its name to the Opal Hotel (no longer affiliated with La Quinta) but that they have kept the star rating and amenities the same.

Much the same for me :)

Today I got the La Quinta at the $60 rate for 1 night June 3, but with the following amenities:

Breakfast, Fitness, Internet, Business, Laundry

(even though apparently Breakfast & Laundry were not there as of brent's HOTWIRE post 4 days ago, but were on the list previously)

Toronto Airport 4*: Sheraton Gateway Toronto Airport (attached to Terminal 3)

Amenties: Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Spa, Business (as already listed on this site, but the hotel can be crossed off in the vacation packages section and moved up to the Toronto Airport zone).

Got it for $62 March 23 when the best rate otherwise available is over $200....thank you hotwire and betterbidding!

For 2.5* Banff (Canmore) got Radisson Canmore at $66/night for 2 nights Dec. 28 & 29, 2005

Note new star rating for this hotel (was 3.0 last year). Amenities are still as listed on this site (i.e. Restaurant/Pool/Fitness/Business/Laundry)

It's good to see that hotwire has combined Banff and Canmore as separate zones in the same search; they used to require separate searches. Canmore is only about 20-25 min. from Banff and can be much cheaper.

Note amenity/zone change required for BB list: Pool & Internet are not shown in the listing for this hotel in the Van Ness/Lombard zone. The hotel is also listed in the now-defunct Cathedral Hill zone as 3.5* (but with correct amenities).

This seems a pretty good deal. The Hotwire rate is $72/night for Oct 6-9 (4 nights) and $59 for Oct 11 versus lowest rates per ichotelsgroup.com $175 & $161 respectively. :)

Not a surprise as someone else got this one fairly recently. Confirm that amenities still Shuttle/Restaurant/Fitness/Business & Customer Favorite.

Be careful trying to predict hotel-only deals based on what's available as packages. Under packages, the Hotel Lord Berri was the only 2* and its only amenity was a restaurant. This looked good because it was only 3 blocks from where I was going. However, I wanted just the hotel, not a package. There was only one 2* listed (also with only a restaurant), so I assumed it was the same.

Turned out to be the Quality Hotel. Still a good deal at $45 (for May 27), and luckily only about a mile away from where I wanted to be.

Note also that this was the Quality HOTEL Downtown (3440 av. du Parc) which is different from the Quality INN Downtown (1214 Crescent St.)

2.5* - Shuttle, Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, High-Speed Internet, Laundry = Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Newark Airport
