  3. Sent an earlier post about rebid zones but got the idea of it. Anybody booking Madison downtown through Priceline, just stay at 3.5 stars and you have 7 rebid zones. Thanks for the better bidding site and advice.
  4. Good afternoon. I was looking at booking a 3.5 star in downtown Madison Wisconsin through Priceline. I want to make sure I use the concept of the rebid zones correctly to get more bids in. From what I understand, the Madison downtown area is the the only one with a 3.5 star option. Does this mean I can add any of the other priceline zones and keep bidding on a Madison downtown 3.5 star? Thanks for your help.
  5. Pretty good deal for downtown Jacksonville on Halloween night right before the Georgia-Florida game. Amenties listed below: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby
  6. Here is the full list. You're right. The first post was just the amenities that showed at time of booking. The listing is actually still up too if any others are interested. Free Parking Free Internet Near Beach Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
  7. Not a lot of board activity for Biloxi. Winning bid on Hotwire booked last week with amenities listed below. Free Parking Free Internet Near Beach Fitness Center Business Center Restaurant(s) Pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms High Speed Internet Access
  8. The amenities you added above are exactly correct. Thanks for doing this site and keeping everything updated. Very helpful!
  9. Purchased this on hotwire yesterday. The price above does not include the resort fee that is supposed to be around $15 per night. I bid up to $125 on priceline with no luck in the same area for 2.5 star. It appears on your list that The Majestic used to be a 3 star. It is showing currently as a 2.5 star with the below amenities. Free Internet High Speed Internet Oceanfront Near Beach Restaurant Boutique Hotel Business Center Accessible for deaf Accessible path of travel
  10. Amenities shown: Fitness Center, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access, Free Internet.
  11. I had the same problem for the same dates. Hotwire has a 3.5 star in the loop district for $122. It is the Central Loop Hotel
  12. I started bidding on Priceline in the areas of Lincoln Park, North Michigan Ave and Millenium Park for a 2 star or higher during the dates 8/17-8/19. My bids began at $50 and worked up to $110 per night without getting a winning bid. I finally just settled on a hotwire price of $122 for a 3.5 star in the Chicago Loop-Theater district. This turned out to be the Central Loop Hotel. There are currently 3 rooms left at this price.
  13. The Residence Inn-Vermont Ave turned out to be perfect for our stay in Washington DC. The breakfast had different hot items every morning and they even had a free dinner on Monday-Wednesday night that they do every week. That helped us save a good bit of money on food. Great location, pretty large rooms and walking distance to mostly everything. A little noisy outside a few of the nights, but I expect that when staying downtown.
  14. I'll definitely let ya'll know how it goes. Sounds great so far and any free breakfast is good news. I'll be ecstatic if there is bacon involved in any capacity!
  15. Your suggestions and help definitely paid off. Thanks for everything. I started out bidding $70 per night at 3* for White House-Downtown Area and got rejected. Added Convention Center-Capital Hill area and bid $75. The bid was accepted by Residence Inn Washington DC/Vermont Avenue. Great location and price.
  16. I will definitely check out any advice you have. After reading the link you provided, I think I understand the concept of re-bid zones. Basically in this case, I could use Mount Vernon VA as a rebid zone since it doesnt have any hotels above a 2 star right? Im surprised priceline hasnt caught on to that, but I guess it helps them keep people bidding. Looking for lowest price between 3* & 3.5* and dont really have a preference. I would pay up to $10/night more for downtown (spend less on transit I assume), maybe $5 more for convention-capital hill, with no preference between Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle after that. Thanks again for your help.
  17. Thanks for the tips and advice. Looks like I'll be spending a little bit more for a longer stay. Im going to keep bumping up bids $5 a day for the zones listed below. Im putting priority on the White house and convention center areas since they seem the closest to the touristy monuments and stuff that the wife wants to check out. I'm bidding $70 tonight and seeing how it goes on 3* and 3.5*. The dates are 5/26-6/1. I'll keep updating on the board in case anyone finds the info useful and definitely will keep using the handy links. Ive noticed there arent really any posts for stars under 3. I guess not many people venture into that level or there arent many in the area. White House-Downtown Convention Center-Capitol Hill Georgetown-Foggy Bottom Dupont Circle-Woodley Park
  18. Just had some random questions. Im bidding Washington dc zones 5,8,9,& 14 and was already rejected at $65 per for 6 nights 3*. Does anyone have an idea if you have more total nights you have a better chance of winning a cheaper bid? I would think so since the hotel gets a longer occupancy and more total money. Also, priceline took almost 5 minutes to reject the bid. Is that just based on the quantity of hotels the site has to search? Thanks for your help.
  19. Just booked this yesterday through Priceline. Tried a bid of $85 for a 4 star in the downtown Nashville area and was denied. I did a 3.5 star bid at $70 and it was accepted for 6/2/11-6/5/11 by Doubletree. The price after taxes and fees was around $260 for the three nights. This site is great!
