  1. Booked through BiddingHelper.com here, to use "Name Your Own Price". Tried $86 for a 3.5 star in Emeryville or Oakland, but was denied. Added 3 star and Oakland Airport area, and increased to $96. Won that one, but then realized could have done the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for a 3 star for only $88. Oh well. Still saving money.
  2. 5th try. Was seeking hotel that accepted pets (looked them up using PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals, compared against Hotel lists here on BetterBidding--found out that all but one of the 3-4 stars that PRICELINE name your own price uses, accepts pets. Took a leap of faith. First bid $140, 4 stars, Santa Cruz, not accepted. Second bid $141, added Scotts Valley, not accepted. Third bid $142, added Aptos, not accepted. Fourth bid $143, added 3 star, not accepted. Next bid $150, selected Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz, 3 star, and bid was accepted for Best Western Plus, Scotts Valley. Also took into account, the accepted bid amount does not include the additional pet fee ($30), which adds to the final cost.
  3. I just won a Priceline bid at the Palms Place Hotel And Spa for $76, which is a 4.5 star property, for those dates. I used Priceline's Name Your Own Price, for "West of Strip" 4.5 and 5 star.
  4. First try for a 4.5 star, West of Strip. Won for $76. Cheapest advertised on line was $122 per night. There is also a mandatory resort fee of $33 per night, not included in the bid.
  5. I consulted the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins first and saw that $60 was about the going rate for 4 star. I was hoping for The Godfrey Hotel Chicago, so we could see the architecture and interior design of that hotel. 1st Bid: 4.5 star North Michigan Ave - River North area for $60, bid was not successful 2nd Bid: 4 star, adding in Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park for $61. Bid successful. Got W Hotel, Lakeshore
  6. Had been trying for a 4* hotel in MTW/MTE/ESB/CPS for three days, for under $180, to no avail. Finally today, using the rebidding strategy here on Better Bidding, got the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in MTW (which was my preferred zone), for $193.
  7. I have been using Priceline for at least 10 years, over 100 times, and have found it to be the most cost effective way to get hotel rooms and rental cars. I thought I was super "Priceline Savvy", until reading this post! I tried the re-bidding strategy you have posted here AND IT WORKED!! Thank you so much, now I actually am even more "Priceline Savvy"!
  8. 4* Los Angeles (Airport LAX) Hilton Los Angeles Airport $60 ... 6/10/11-6/12/11 Bid $55 for 4* for LAX area on Priceline and did not win. Did a re-bid of $57 using the 24 hour re-bid loop hole (found here on your website) and added Lawndale area (which only has 2.5* or lower) and did not win. Re-bid again, this time changing to $60 and adding Culver City (which only has 3* or above), and won! Retail price is @ $125, so essentially we got @ 50% off.
