indywaiter
I have been checking on a room for Jazz Fest. A one star property now appears on my dates at $39. The amenities are "shuttle", "restaurant", "self serve laundy" and the hotel is in the downtown area. I want to say its the Hotel La Salle on Canal but that hotel has never had a restaurant? If anyone can provide any info that would rule! Thanks in advance. IndyWaiter Link to comment
swag
From what I have heard, the LaSalle has closed.Hotwire says a one star is a motel. And with a HW rate that low during Fest, I'd be careful. It might be someplace like the Empress.Edited to add:As I think about this, I don't think the Empress would have a restaurant. My new guess (and it's just a guess) is that it might be the Days Inn on Canal, which does. I've stayed there, and it's not awful. A bit dingy, a bit out of the way, but safer then the Empress, and for a cheap place to sleep and shower, probably is okay. Link to comment
thereuare
I don't know what this HOTWIRE property is... but if you're seriously considering i would highly recommend buying only one nite just to learn what it is, then purchase the remaining nites if you're happy with the result. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
chen
What is this mystery hotel? It's offered at $40 thru Jazzfest 2005. If it's the Days, I may consider doing a night or two and then paying for something decent the remaining nights. If someone figures it out, please let me know. Link to comment
Mustang
It's not the LaSalle as they are closed. They shut down at the end of last May 2004. They had gotten a new owner and they were going to be renovating it. I'm in NO each week so I walked past it. Brown paper on the inside of the glass entry door. There was a phone number listed for emergencies. I called them asked when the renovations would be done and they said middle of 2005. So you don't have to worry about getting this place.
