gea888
My parents are coming to visit me on October 14 through October 15. I live at 20th street and 1st avenue, so I was looking for a hotel that is close to 20th and 1st. I guess the closest area is Midtown South. They are looking to spend about 150-160 for the hotel. How would I go about getting this? Thanks so much!-Greg Link to comment

gea888
Sorry, it is only for one night. They will come to the city on October 14, and leave on the 15th.-Greg Link to comment
thereuare
I'm not so sure that $160 will be enough for a hotel in the MTS zone for the above date (a Saturday nite check-in too).Is this the only zone they're willing to accept? I would recommend they consider other midtown locations which will increase the number of re-bids they have available as well as increase the number of potential hotels that could accept their bid. We'll suggest a strategy for whatever you decide, but let us know if there are other zones you/they are willing to accept. gea888
Hi,Yes, they are willing to stay anywhere in Manhattan, but Midtown South is the most convenient. I talked to them today and they can go as high as 180 or so.-Greg Link to comment
thereuare
I would start with the following...At the 3* level in NYC you have one re-bid zone available. gea888
Thanks for your response, but what would be the bidding structure if my parents would accept 3 or 4 star hotels?Thanks.-Greg Link to comment
thereuare
The above is for 3* or 4* hotels, as the star level you select is the minimum you are willing to accept... priceline will always attempt to upgrade your bid to a higher star level if possible. gea888
Sorry about the very long delay, but I used the bidding structure for the date, and unfortunately, nothing was accepted at Priceline. Link to comment

gea888
We went through NYU, which has an agreement with Club Quarters Downtown for families who are in the are. The total with tax was $204.95 for the night. Link to comment
rocco46
I'm curious: how did your parents like the Club Quarters Downtown? Perhaps you could post a review. Link to comment
