Chad
I would like to stay in Chicago July 13-July 16 at a four star hotel in the Mill. Park/Loop area and do not want to spend more than $175. Bidding help requested. Link to comment
thereuare
Just to confirm... you don't want to include the NMA/River North zone? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Chad
I would rather not, but if you think it will help with the bidding process. Link to comment
thereuare
It will help the bidding process, but likewise, if you don't want to stay in that area then i wouldn't include it... what is the sense in saving money if you're staying someplace you'd rather not be. I only suggested it because it will give you additional bidding opportunties and for the average user they're both fine... they're close to each other and if there is something you need to be near than transportation is usually inexpensive and accessible.Let us know your thoughts. Chad
Thanks, I wouldn't mind staying in the other area. I don't know Chicago too well, and am seeing a concert at the Chicago Theater. Link to comment
thereuare
I would begin as follows...You have two re-bid zones at the 4* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Loop...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bdi zone...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* NMA...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bdi zone...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Loop and Loop...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bdi zone...Bid $110.I'm thinking the above may prove to be too low, but there are one or tow 'outlyer hotels' (that accept low rates) that don't seem to be quite where they should be pricewise, so i'd start with the above... plenty of time before your stay so if the above is rejected don't get discouraged, just post back and we'll update the strategy accordingly. Chad
Thanks, I will start with Savingsbarn.com. What areas should I add for the re-bid zone. Should I go to the priceline list and re-bid in areas that do not have a 4 star hotel? Link to comment
thereuare
You need to know how to determine your re-bid zones on your own because they should be checked before every bidding cycle to make sure that the re-bid zones have remained the same.Do NOT use the hotel list on this board to determine your re-bid zones. The correct strategy to determine rebid zones is examplained in the first post in Priceline Re-Bidding Explained.Feel free to confirm your re-bid zones with the board, or if you're confused by the link above, let us know and we'll explain it one step at a time. Chad
Tried bidding using the strategy, nothing came up to it. Went up to $150, and no rooms. Link to comment
