Got this hotel for 3 nights 8/25-28/2005 for a $62 bid on priceline.

We checked in a little after 10 PM and I was excited to try the $20 tip/bribe that i read so much about on BB to try and get an upgrade. The staff member the frontdesk wasn't friendly at all and made me apprehensive of trying the tip trick, I did ask if upgrades were available and she was quick to say that everything is booked, we had to choose between 2 queen non-smoking and a king bed smoking room. We went with the king smoking room (the smoking smell in the room was unnoticeable).

The hotel is dated, very much so, it's barely a 3-star establishment. I think priceline should give users the option of only selecting a 4-star hotel without automatically adding Resorts, because this particular resort is definitely not a 4-star.

The room was ok size, mostly clean (there was a pretty nasty looking stain on the curtain lining). Construction was being done and there was a ladder and ropes just outside the "balcony" of our 2nd floor room window (a balcony that we couldn't access) didn't feel too great about that cause anyone could've climbed in. The pool area can use a little maintenance, in the Jacuzzi only one jet was working properly and the rest didn't have any pressure. Staff were generally ok, front desk staff could be a little friendlier and more helpful, upon given a smoking-room I jokingly asked if it'd smell too bad and was told that in Europe people smoked everywhere and she couldn't really notice the smell of smoke (the lady checking us in was from Germany) one housekeeping staff member was baffled by a request to change the sheets. But on the previous night, a note asking to change the sheets with a tip got us fresh sheets and even turn down service which was nice (I'm assuming that was different housekeeping staff). The bathroom was old, and a little awkward the vent in the bathroom didn't work at all everything got foggy after showers. They had the towels sitting on a shelf inside the bathtub area where they'd get wet when showering. There was a sink outside the bathroom which was nice when both of us were trying to get ready. The mainstreet market in the hotel is convenient, we were craving cookies and milk one night and it was very nice to be able to go down stairs and get some at 2 in the morning. 2 very large and excellent cookies with two little cartons of milk were for $6.08 which to me is very reasonable for the convenience. There weren't any resort or parking fees added, and we managed to find parking spots every night although it was a few minutes walk from the hotel sometimes.

Maybe this hotel was a 4-star 10 years ago, it's definitely not anymore so keep that in mind when bidding in that area. If given the choice between this Hilton and a real 4-star we would not stay here again.

I just returned from this property exactly a year from the date Oleander was there. 8/26-8/28/06.

We arrived about midnight and the front desk staff was very nice. No upgrades available as they sais they were sold out for the weekend. The hotel lobby was in great condition and looked very nice. The restaurants and shopping area was very nice as well but the $20 for the character buffet was a bit overpriced for the selection. I didn't realize it was a Disney characted breakfast until I saw Minney Mouse (She gave me a kiss on the cheek so I guess the $ was worth it :))

The room was very nice and didn't look dated or worn at all. The only problem was that the sink area was too small. Other than that there was no complaint. The view out our window was of the convention areas roof and the freeway. Fortunately there was a lot of greenery so it wasn't really that bad of a view. The carpeting in the room and hallways looked new. I didn't use the pools but walked by them to take pictures (Posted in the hotel picture link). They looked nice and not too crowded. There is an arcade that I didn't go in. The bar next to the lobby is open and has a pool table you can rent by the hour.

Construction must have been completed because we didn't see any going on.

There is a Disney store where you can buy tickets to any of the parks without waiting in lines and there is a shuttle leaving every half hour for the parks. We didn't take advantage of these services so I can't comment on them.

They say it is walking distance to Downtown Disney but it is not that close and there are no sidewalks. I'd drive or take a shuttle.

I was happy with the hotel, the staff and the everything else there. I would definitely stay there again, especially at Priceline rates. :)

Hello Everyone,

Well I came back from my trip to Orlando and Hilton WDW Resort, I thought I would write a quick review.

I think the hotel has undergone some renovation but it still shows its age. The room was clean, the bed

was extremely comfortable. When I arrived in the afternoon the room was not ready but that did not really

bothered me as I had other plans. The front desk was professional and friendly. It was located within

couple of minutes walk from Downtown Disney, so that was helpful. Overall it is an OK property, but

I would probably not stay here again on my own.

This hotel was fully booked the night I stayed there so i could not get another room for friends. Instead

I got a room in Hilton Grand Vacations Club. I was very pleased with the hotel and the suite, I will absolutely

stay there again.

Hope this helps someone.

We stayed here on a PL bid in April 2008. Location is very convenient to Downtown Disney (virtually across the street from the Marketplace area), so is great for visiting Disney Quest, Cirque du Soleil, Typhoon Lagoon, etc. Extremely pleasant check-in with no mention of PL (but that doesn't bother me anyway), rep. made sure we had 4 room keys for Extra Magic Hours (this is such an awesome perk), and no resort or parking fees--hooray! Later, the staff kindly sent up a special dessert for my daughter in honor of her birthday. Lobby and rooms are very well-kept and clean. Pool area was unthemed, but attractive with plush cushions on all the chaises; there was also a kids' pool and 2 hot tubs. Extensive fitness room with weight machines, yoga mats/balls, bikes, treadmills, ellipticals. Several shops including one with all Disney merchandise. Bar area with pool table, TVs, etc. Downstairs food court area was one of the most attractive I have seen. Benihana and Starbucks are onsite. Timeshare operators didn't bother me, but I never looked them directly in the eye or greeted them either-- not being rude, I just didn't want to engage in a conversation which would be a waste of my time and theirs.

Room was fairly newly remodeled with nice carpet, etc., and very clean. We had a view of the portico roof, outside fountain, and the boulevard that leads out of the DD hotel area. Bathroom had newer marble sink, but shower enclosure was quite dated (1970's fiberglass, with high threshold and track doors), however the old-fashioned high-output showerhead was fantastic! There was an extra sink/vanity outside the bathroom as well. Large room safe and minibar were also available to use. We were quite disappointed with the double (full)- sized beds as we are used to getting 2 queens. Also, the beds were not as high-quality as those we slept on in other Hiltons, Hampton Inns, etc.

Overall, a good stay, but would have been superior if the beds were queens!

Hi Everyone:

I just stayed here this weekend. The last time I stayed here was two years ago - and the rooms look like they have been renovated. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanness of the room. New carpets, mostly new furniture. The bed was very comfortable. The TV was on the small size, but it is a flat screen (not plasma). It is convenient to Disney - they offer a shuttle to all the parks. The staff was very friendly.

In addition, it was my wife's birthday and I told them while checking in. On our return to the room that evening, they had left a beautiful little cake in our room. It was very nice and an out of the ordinary type of amenity that makes me appreciate the Hilton. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

This hotel is a dump! It's NOT a resort.

It's an absolute joke that it's considered a "Resort." It's 3*, at BEST, in my opinion. There is nothing for kids to do here. The pool sucks - no slide or anything fun for kids to do other than swim. The location is great. That's the ONLY good thing about it. I've "won" this hotel twice on Priceline and written several emails complaining about it, and asking them to change the star rating to something other than resort. Still no luck, but I'm going to keep trying.
