Priceline Hotel: 4* San Francisco (Union Square West - Nob Hill) Hilton San Francisco

Hi All,

I have used this site before to plan a trip around USA, about 18 months ago and it was very useful, booking hotels in NY, D.C., Chicago (Using Priceline, never tried hotwire)

I am visiting the west coast at the end of March for just over 3 weeks, and was hoping to get some help/advice/strategies on bidding!

My plans are:

San Francisco - March 27th (5 Nights)

LA - (5 Nights)

Santa Barbara - (4 Nights)

Las Vegas - (6 Nights)

Thought I would start from the begining and get SF sorted first!

Looking to spend up to $150 per night (less if possible!) for a minimum of 4*. Would like to stay central.

With regards to Santa Barbara, is it wise to just book through Expedia etc, as there seems to be very little mentioned on here for it!

Please confirm if both USE and USW are acceptable and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

It depends upon your needs for this leg of your stay... are your plans flexible OR do you need to stay in a specific part of the zone, need specific amenities for this trip, etc.

There is currently no 4* bidding offered in the Fisherman's Wharf zone, so that's not an option if you're looking to stick with a 4* minimum.

When bidding in San Francisco you have EIGHT re-bid zones at the 4* level. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

You have your current re-bid zones correct (always double check just before bidding) but i'm assuming the amount on the last line you posted is just a typo and you didn't change it to $105 before posting. If my assessment is correct, then all looks good.

Got the Hilton San Francisco (Union Square) For $95 per night + taxes.

Pretty pleased, current rate is $205 on the website.

Anyone have any experience here?

You should be very pleased with the location of Hilton, Union Square. It has been several years since I stayed there, but it is nice, large hotel that seems to be geared towards business/convention business. As I recall rooms were good sized.
