Las Vegas Help!

23 February 2012 - 10:55 PM

Hi All,

I am having a bit of trouble booking a half decent rate for April.

We are staying in Vegas for 8 nights, begining April 10th. We have spent a fair bit of time researching various hotels etc, and had decided to split our stay between The Cosmopolitan and Aria.

We already have a reservation for 4 nights at The Cosmopolitan (4/10 - 4/14), which was booked directly with the hotel for $220 per night, in a Stip View Suite, which we were pleased with.

However, booking the Aria seems to be a little more difficult. If I put it 8 nights from April 10th, then I can get a corner suite at a rate of $225 per night, which would be fine! However, if I put in 4 nights from April 14th (Which is what we need!) then the rate jumps to $475 per night!!! Seems ridiculous that the rate more than doubles! I tried contacting reservations at the hotel directly, but they weren't much help and simply said that it is because our arrival date is a Saturday, so that is why the rate is higher, and there is nothing they can do.

So really, just after a bit of advice, whether to just chance it with a priceline or hotwire bid? Or whether to wait it out and hope the rate drops?!

Bidding Advice! San Diego 4/6 - 4/10

25 January 2012 - 07:05 PM

Following on from my other Priceline hotel thread (Giving Santa Barbara a miss, going to San Diego instead)

I now need some advice before bidding for San Diego.

I plan to stay 4 nights here, from April 6th - April 10th

From researching I believe either Downtown and Harbor Island or possibly Coronado (Unless anyone could advise otherwise? First timers here) suits us best.

Can anyone please advise a strategy for bidding?

Thanks in advance,

4* Los Angeles (Beverly Hills - West Hollywood) Mondrian-A Morgans Hotel

25 January 2012 - 06:50 PM

Following on from my other Priceline San Francisco thread.

I now need some advice before bidding for LA.

I plan to stay 5 nights here, from April 1st - April 6th

From researching I believe either Beverly Hills - West Hollywood or Hollywood (Unless anyone could advise otherwise? First timers to LA) suits us best.

Can anyone please advise a strategy for bidding?

Thanks in advance,

Santa Barbara Help!

17 January 2012 - 10:17 PM

Hi All,

I have used this site before to plan a trip around USA, about 18 months ago and it was very useful, booking hotels in NY, D.C., Chicago (Using Priceline, never tried hotwire)

I am visiting the west coast at the end of March for just over 3 weeks, and was hoping to get some help/advice/strategies on bidding!

My plans are:

San Francisco - March 27th (5 Nights)
LA - (5 Nights)
Santa Barbara - (4 Nights)
Las Vegas - (6 Nights)

Looking to be in Santa Barbara from April 6th for 4 nights (poss 5) then driving on to Vegas. (Quick question...who would recommend flying (short) from LA to Santa Barbara, opposed to driving?)

With regards to Santa Barbara, looking to spend up to $130 per night (less if possible!) for a minimum of 4*. Would like to stay close the beach/sea area. Never been here before so not sure on any better location?

Is it wise to just book through Expedia etc, as there seems to be very little mentioned on here for it!

Thanks in advance for any help!
